I am 19 years old and I have grade 2 spondylolisthesis. So can I do abs exercises in gym? Or I should not go to gym?

Lybrate-user as per you say. You have grade 2 spondylolisthesis. In this condition I wouldn't recommend any back exercise. It leads to further complications as neural involvement. So don't do abs exercise. Don't put your body on high stress and strain.

The pain that is associated with arthritis has been well documented. The age-old remedies of Ayurveda

  1. When a person is affected by arthritis, he or she should make the time to undergo a body massage, which makes use of either mustard or sesame oil. Over the course of the massage, the joints whichare afflicted by arthritis can be given more time and focus.
  2. Ayurveda places a strong focus on the dietary intake of a person. For one who has an issue with arthritis, it is strongly recommended that juices from citrus fruits such as orange and lemonshould be consumed. The reason for this is that the vitamin C which is present in the citrus family of fruits goes a long way in improving the situation.
  3. A person should also fast if he or she is physically strong enough to perform this task. This is because the process of fasting does a lot to clean out the system and reduces the impurities a person may have.In order for the body to repair well, it should be given a sufficient chance to rest.
  4. Sleep which is disjointed or inadequate should be replaced by forming habits which are favourable in giving a person sound and fulfilling sleep. The beneficial effects will show in about a few weeks.
  5. When it comes to health, a lot of issues a person faces in general are due to consuming the wrong kinds of foods. It should not come as a surprise at all that this is also the case when it comes to the problem of arthritis. As a result, a person who is arthritic should stay away from foods which are fried, hot and spicy, as such foods have a great ability to cause trouble.

I am 38 years old, I am over weight with 15 kgs, right now I am 65 kgs, can you please suggest any weight reduction medicines, I have legament tear on my right knee, due to over weight unable to walk longer distance and doctors have advised me not to walk on hilly place fast or nor to jogg or run. Kindly show me a photograph & digital X RAYS of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit.D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Apply hot pack Avoid bending forward & lifting heavy objects. Always remember whenever you need to lift heavy things firstly you should half squat then pull thing towards your body & lift it, never bend. Another precaution is when you are getting in & out of bed, first lie in sidelying position then lie straight. Do leg stretching & spinal extension

. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily .Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. .Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily – lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana ? Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi I have pain in lower back from last 3 years. An Ortho. From Artemis Hospital Gurgaon told me that there is some problem in L5-L6 disk and I should get it changed. I am not feeling the pain on regular basis. Sometime, it is more than 15 days without any pain. However, there are times when I am unable to get up from the bed without any help. If it is stomach ache which is bothering you, then you actually need to get in touch of a gastroenterologist and maybe get a usg or something done for diagnosis. If it is lower back pain which is bothering you, then you will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Could you describe the chest pain : Location? Is it sharp localized or heaviness with pressure. Does it also go to the shoulder, jaw or back. Do you have any burning in chest or regurgitation of food. Do you also have breathlessness? When do you get pain. What relieves the pain. It is very important to rule out chest pain due to heart problem by answering the above questions and by doing an ECG. Bone and joint problems can wait. Also, do you have history of any heart disease, diabetes, increased cholesterol, family history of any of these diseases. Do you smoke,drink or use tobacco? What is/was your occupation?
