PG Hom, London, BHMS

Hi lybrate-user, fever since 7 days needs to be evaluated as early as possible. Currently in mumbai, dengue and malaria are prevalent and you need to be sure if you are not suffering from either of them. You can undergo a fever profile blood test which is commonly done in various laboratories in mumbai these days. Please let me know the reports of the blood test so that I can help you better.

How can I improve my sleeping? even when I am in bed also I can not sleep. Improper sleeping make me so tired.

MBBS
General Physician, Trivandrum
Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine - try to get at least 6 to 7 hours of uninteruppted sleep at night time go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer. If you have tried all these and still have problems, please consult me for prescription medication. High fiber diet a high fiber diet includes more than 25 g of fiber per day. Many hemorrhoidal symptoms reduce when dietary changes are made. Addition of fiber supplements to already existing diet is a good plan. Toilet habit retraining and stool softeners patients should sit on the toilet seat only for the time required to evacuate the lower bowels. Persistent straining or prolonged sitting can lead to increased size of hemorrhoids. Stool softeners can be taken to soften stools if there is hard stools which can cause undue straining while going to toilet. Adequate water intake. Adequate amounts of water can ease the passage of stools.

4 Common Sex-Related Fears Men Harbour

4 Common Sex-Related Fears Men Harbour

4 common sex-related fears men harbour

Men, as confident as they may seem, also live with many fears and anxieties related to sex and sexuality.

Here are 4 common sex fears among men.

1. Fear about impotency

One of the most common sexual fears among men is the fear of impotency. Men fear the consequences of impotency so much so that it leads to psychological impotency, if not biological. The fear of not being able to have an erection mostly comes from anxiety. Thinking too much about not being able to perform well in the bed has been the cause of most cases of impotency. In the case of biological impotence, the problem can be addressed through medications; however psychogenic impotency can be treated only by counseling and reassurance by trained sexual therapist or consultant. Also, understanding and support from the spouse or partner are highly warranted.

Sometimes men may require multiple sessions with a sexual counselor.

2. Fear of premature ejaculation:

Another common fear associated with sex in men is the fear of premature ejaculation. The cause is mostly self-imposed and psychological. Anxiety, fear and over thinking may lead to premature ejaculation and low self-confidence regarding performance in bed. Trying to use the counter drugs, sprays, etc may not work sometimes. The treatment needs to be comprehensive. Many times it needs psychological assistance, some exercises / techniques may help. Any medical assistance or counseling with an experienced sexologist will be helpful require.

3. Performance anxiety:

Fear of performance in the bed that they won't be able to perform well enough in bed can also lead to erectile dysfunction in men. It is a very common issue among men that they have to deal with. This fear may arise as a result of prior negative experiences or anxiety. Stress can also lead to erectile dysfunction and result in a fear of performance. In most men, the fear can be decreased by reassurance by the partner and self-realization that this is a usual issue with men. Talking with the partner and a consultation with a sexual counselor will surely help.

4. Physical attributes:

Being overweight or too skinny, having a small or curved penis and several other insecurities related to their physical appearance may act as a common cause of sexual fears in men. Such an imperfect body may make men think that they won't be able to perform well enough in bed or worse that they may be rejected altogether by their partner. This leads to anxiety and prevents them from taking the leap and daring to propose sex at all.

I m loosing my erection timings, also falls very fast. Just at the age of 30. How to gain back my normalcy as it was before?

MBBS
General Physician, Kolkata
Hey. Don’t worry; this is a common issue amongst men nowadays. You will be able to increase your sex time once you start controlling your excitement level. You don’t need any medicine for this; I can help you fix this problem naturally and cheaply. Let’s start with some simple lifestyle changes …. Exercise every day. You can start with something basic like a 30 minute brisk walk or running, jogging, yoga, aerobics, cycling. Try losing weight – if you are on the heavier side. Eat lots of fruits & vegetables every day. Say NO to all/any form of tobacco (cigarettes, cigars, tumbaku, gutkha etc.) Avoid drinking alcohol especially before sex! Not using any recreational drugs either. If you are already doing all of the above- that’s great! You are on the right track) I would like to add that stress is another major factor that affects performance. So just stay calm, relax and be confident and focus on your partner! You will be just fine… I would like you to try some scientifically proven helpful exercise too. For further details feel free to contact me. Take good care.)
