I am suffering from sensitivity in teeth for last two week. Can you suggest me what to do to prevent from it.

I am suffering from sensitivity in teeth for last two week. Can you suggest me what to do to prevent from it.
This could b either due to sensitivity due to loss of enamel surface or due to decay of tooth. Tooth decay can b treated by filling of tooth or by rct n capping of the decay is deep. Sensitivity can b reduced by using desensitizing toothpaste such as senquelf or sensodyne toothpaste by rubbing some amount of toothpaste onto your tooth surface n wait till 5 mins before rinsing it off. Get your teeth evaluated by dentist to know the cause of your problem n get treated accordingly. Regsrds.

My age is 52. Three teeth already fell down. The gap is there. The top side right side teeth gap gum is giving pain when hot or cold thing drinking or eating for the past 2 months. Give me/suggest me give medicine to come back to original.

Dear, Medicines may work for a short time or not at all and will not treat the cause. It is advisable that you should get a dental check up done by a dental Surgeon. He may take an X -ray to see the tooth and then guide you how best to treat that tooth. The more the teeth you get removed the more the chances of your bite collapsing over a period of time and creating more problems in the long run. If the bone under the tooth has got badly effected, the we have no option left but, to remove the same.

No one is asking you to take medicines. Medicines are not allergic. Human being is allergic to medicine. Keep your teeth clean, visit a dentist and get them cleaned.

If it is a structural abnormality & you have been observing lately you need to consult a cosmetic surgeon & if it is temporarily then you need to know soft tissue swelling which might be from parotids underlying gums or local skin. So first understand actual swelling & its origin confirm it then look for a treatment.

Hi, a poor diet can lead to gum disease and tooth decay. Foods high in carbohydrates, sugars and starches greatly contribute to the production of plaque acids that attack the tooth enamel. Eventually these acids can cause tooth enamel to break down, forming a cavity. Foods high in sugar are a particularly common cause of tooth decay. Making these foods a treat rather than a staple will help protect your teeth. To maintain a balanced diet, eat a variety of foods from each of the five major food groups. When choosing a snack, go for nutritious foods such as cheese, raw vegetables, plain yogurt or a piece of fruit. Diet: consume cheese, curd, yoghurt, green leafy vegetables, carrots, apples, almonds. Acidic foods, such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, and lemons, should be eaten as part of a larger meal to minimize the acid from them which erodes the tooth enamel. The best beverage choices include water (especially fluoridated water), milk, and unsweetened tea. Chewing sugarless gum is actually beneficial to your teeth as chewing helps dislodge food that becomes stuck to your teeth. Teeth-care: these are some basic tips for caring for teeth and gums: brush your teeth regularly. Brush at least twice a day and preferably 30-60 minutes after every meal and snack. Use a fluoride-containing toothpaste. Floss at least once a day. Use a mouth rinse daily. Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings -- typically twice a year. Eat a variety of foods to maintain overall health. You can use homoeopathic toothpaste by sbl- homeodent.

I am a 18 years male. But I have tooth problems. When I am brush mouth has been bleeding. What should I do.
Mr. Lybrate-user, you should immediately consult your nearest dentist and get it checked. Bleeding from mouth (gums) when you brush is a common sign of periodontitis also known as pyorrhoea. Ideally you should get a professional cleaning done from a gum specialist (periodontist) which should help you in reducing the bleeding.

Hi, From a very long time, my left side of the tongue is getting touched by 3rd molar teeth and my tongue is hurting, Have shown to doctors, some say it is nothing to do with teeth, have applied kenacort to tongue, have got teeth little bit grinded also, there is a slight relief from that but still it is rubbing against the teeth. What do I do? Please suggest.

Hi,
From a very long time, my left side of the tongue is getting touched by 3rd molar teeth and my tongue is hurting,...
Permanent solution to your problem is getting the third molar extracted from the concerned side. As you have mentioned you got some relief after grinding the tooth. Here is another permanent solution if you do not want tooth removal, mostly the 3rd molar is out of occlusion so it will not trouble you. Visit a dentist ask him/her to trim the molar tooth to maximum and an ultra thin cap fabrication for the same. Problem will be resolved. Thank you.

We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks.

Hello Arihaanth, It depends on the xray, the depth of the caries in your teeth. If caries has effected only the enamel, and dentin then you can get your teeth restored. If it involves the pulp then RCT can be done. If enough tooth structure is present then RCT can be done and tooth can be saved. If root stumps are left then you may need them to be removed.

- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser.
