Your child's doctor ,peadiatrician might have suggested you some powder milk avilable in market. There's no harm in giving powder milk to babies. Even its just 14 days of delivery gradually milk secretions of your wife may increase or your wife's doctor may prescribe her. In food items moong dal, coconut, methi, jeera, til, milk etc might help in increases secretions. Mother should have light and easy digestible food. Wait for sometime if still your wife's milk secretions are not increasing, consult me further for homeopathic prescription.

Hi doctor, My age is 40 yrs/male. I'm non-smoker, non-drinker (only drink 1 beer in 3 or 4 months) and I have type 2 diabetes, recently I came to know that I have serum triglycerides very high @600. Even though I don't have any bad habits why I am suffering from these? What needs to be done to lower these levels? Please help me.

Hi doctor,
My age is 40 yrs/male.

Hypertriglyceridemia refers to an elevated level of triglycerides (a type of lipid) in the bloodstream, a condition that increases the risk of coronary artery disease. The triglycerides found in our bloodstream are a mixture of triglycerides that have been obtained from the diet and those produced in the body to provide an energy source. Hypertriglyceridemia is often caused or worsened by factors such as obesity, poorly controlled diabetes and a sedentary lifestyle. A certain amount of triglycerides is required in the blood to serve as a source of energy, but when there is an excess, these fats increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and other health issues. Triglycerides themselves do not directly cause the fatty deposits that accumulate in atherosclerosis, but the cholesterol inside triglyceride-rich particles called very low density lipoproteins (VLDLs) may add to the formation of plaques. In many cases, people with hypertriglyceridemia have other lipid disorders or risk factors associated with heart disease and stroke, including obesity and metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome refers to a cluster of risk factors that includes high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high blood sugar, excess fat around the waist and abnormal cholesterol levels. After people eat, the body turns any calories that have not been used up into triglycerides and these are stored in fat cells. In between meals, certain hormones release triglycerides for energy and if people regularly consume more calories than they need to use up, they may develop a high blood triglyceride level. Whether or not a person’s triglyceride level falls within a healthy range can be ascertained using a simple blood test. A triglyceride level is considered normal if it is below 150 mg/dL, while borderline ranges from 150 to 199 mg/dL, high from 200 to 499 mg/dL and very high is 500 mg/dL or above. The level of triglycerides in our blood usually increases with age, but risk factors that increase the likelihood of the triglyceride level becoming too high include the following: Lifestyle: Overweight or obesity Excess alcohol intake Lack of physical activity Inherited disorders Pregnancy Type 2 diabetes Metabolic syndrome Medications: Thiazide diuretics Beta-blockers The most common reasons for hypertriglyceridemia developing are obesity, lack of physical activity, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and familial hyperlipidemia, a genetic condition that causes high triglycerides and low levels of the “good” cholesterol, HDL (high-density lipoprotein). In rare cases, people with a very high triglyceride level develop pancreatitis which causes severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever and loss of appetite. Doctor may start you on lipaglyn which is very effective in controlling hypertriglyceridemia.

Eggs are rich in protein and essential fatty acids that help treat split ends. Because your hair is primarily made up of protein, eggs help strengthen the hair follicles. Plus, they will make your hair smooth, reduce tangles, and enhance resistance to breakage. You can use an egg hair mask once a week on a regular basis. Brush out your hair first to prevent tangles. Being rich in natural oils, potassium, zinc, iron, and vitamins A, C, and E, bananas help restore your hair’s natural elasticity and minimize breakage. Plus, they soften and moisturize your hair, encourage hair repair, and improve manageability. Process one ripe banana, two tablespoons of plain yogurt and a little rose water and lemon juice in a blender. Apply this banana hair mask on your hair. Leave it on for one hour and then wash it off. Repeat once or twice a week.

Hello. We can't change the gray hair turn black, but of course, prevent further greying! The causes of premature graying of hair are several. Here we have listed out a few common causes. Heredity is a major reason for hair greying Excessive use of tobacco and smoking Chronic emotional stress or psychological worries Lack of nutrients such as vitamins, iron, copper and iodine in the diet Medical conditions such as anemia, hypothyroidism, tuberous sclerosis or neurofibromatosis Home Remedies: 1. Add the curry leaves to the oil and boil it for 6 to 8 minutes, or till the leaves turn black. Remove from flame and let it cool. Strain the oil in a container and massage your scalp and hair with this oil 3 to 4 times per week before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 2. Turn the fenugreek seeds to a smooth powder and keep aside. Heat the oil and add the amla pieces to it, let it boil for 5 to 6 minutes, add the fenugreek powder to the oil, let it boil for another minute and remove from flame. Let it cool and strain the oil, apply on scalp and hair before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 3. Mix onion and lemon juice in a glass bowl and apply on scalp and hair evenly. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with a mild herbal shampoo. Repeat it 4 to 5 times a week for 2 weeks. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine – Schwabe's Acid Phos. 200/ once daily and Weisbaden 200/ twice daily – all of them for 1 month. And a multivitamin - A to Z/ 1 cap. Daily once for 3 months (as deficiency of zinc, copper and selenium can also cause premature greying). Use Schwabe's Arnica Shampoo and Hair Growth Oil. Revert. Investigations required: Hemoglobin, total iron binding capacity, serum ferritin (S. Ferritin), serum calcium (S. Ca), serum iron (S. Iron), vitamin B12, and vitamin D3 and TFT.

Hello lybrate user I will begin this answer by stating that there is no such thing as an uncontrollable sugar. Sometimes it is believed that sugars can be uncontrollable because there is a maximal dose of insulin. But I would like to dispel this doubt and tell you there is no such thing as a maximal dose of insulin and the amount of insulin being given to a patient can be escalated to an optimal level so that the blood sugar target is achieved. Also, the following approach of treat to target in the case of diabetes is very important because if the patient is taking the medicine suboptimally then sugars might be slightly controlled but till the point of time that they're completely controlled a patient cannot draw the benefits out of the treatment. What I basically implying is that in the case of diabetes treatment with uncontrolled sugars is almost as bad as no treatment. Hence from your case as I understand that the patient is already on insulin and the only logical thing to do is to escalate the level of insurance so that the sugars are optimally controlled.
