Saturate 4 figs in water for the whole night; eat these in the morning. Remember not to drink water prior to eating the figs. Saturate another 4 figs in the morning to be eaten in the evening. Hello,Medication will not help at this age, you should try Exercise like stretching swimming regularly yoga like Tadasan and Sarvang asana. play Basket ball regularly. Take proper balanced nutritios and protein rich diet. *Mix two tablespoons of ashwagandha powder in a glass of warm cow’s milk. 1. Add sugar or jaggery according to your taste and mix well. 2. Hello. Please use salisia kt or scalpe shampoo for head bath thrice a week for a month and then as maintenance at least once a week for 2 months. Avoid oiling as fungus thrives in oily scalp. You could oil 1 hr prior to head bath.

Sir, there is no cure for ankylosing spondylitis in allopathy, drugs available are only to control or delay the disease process, so drugs will continue lifelong. Side effects and efficacy of the drugs will have to be monitored from time to time and doses adjusted accordingly.

With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night?s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, physical exercise is a must, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. Recently they have discovered that moderate consumption of red wine and peanuts do help.

Homeopathy and obesity – Obesity means having too much body fat. It is not the same as being overweight, which means weighing too much. A person may be overweight from extra muscle, bone, or water, as well as from having too much fat.

In general, women collect fat in their hips and buttocks, giving their figures a “pear” shape. Men, on the other hand, usually collect fat around the belly, giving them more of an “apple” shape.

India is now in the grip of an obesity epidemic and the trend needs to be immediately arrested by taxing junk food, restricting food ads and making food labelling clearer, according to a study. Currently, almost 1 in 5 men and over 1 in 6 women are overweight.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors—-

Taking in more calories than you burn can lead to obesity because the body stores unused calories as fat. Obesity can be caused by:

  1. Eating more food than your body can use

  2. Drinking too much alcohol

  3. Not getting enough exercise

Today, we know that biology is a big reason why some people cannot keep the weight off. Some people who live in the same place and eat the same foods become obese, while others do not. Our bodies have a complex system to help keep our weight at a healthy level.


 

We are surrounded by things that make it easy to overeat and hard to stay active:

  1. Many people do not have time to plan and make healthy meals.

  2. More people today work desk jobs compared to more active jobs in the past.

  3. People with less free time have less time to exercise.

  4. Obesity is a major health threat. The extra weight puts added stress on every part of your body.


 

People with obesity are at risk for these health problems:

  1. Bone and joint problems -Excess weight puts extreme pressure on your joints, sometimes causing inflammation in the joints (known as arthritis). Obesity is also a factor in osteoarthritis a form of arthritis that is caused by wear and tear on the joints

  2. Gallstones – Obesity causes the liver to secrete excessive amounts of a fluid called bile, which is stored in the gallbladder. Bile is necessary for the body to digest fats. But an overproduction of bile sets the stage for the formation of gallstone.

  3. Liver problems.

  4. Heartattack from coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, and stroke.

5. Highblood cholesterol and triglycerides (dislipidemia or high blood fats).

6. Highblood pressure (hypertension).

7. Highblood sugar (glucose) or diabetes.

8. Stopping breathing during sleep (sleep apnea). This can cause daytime fatigue or sleepiness, poor attention,    and problems at work.

9. CANCER – Women who are significantly overweight are at increased risk of risk of cancer of the endometrium (the lining of the uterus). If you are obese and your periods are irregular.

10. INFERTILITY – Obesity sometimes leads to changes in hormone levels that can result in a failure of the ovaries to release eggs regularly. This abnormality, called an ovulation, is associated with irregular or absent periods and infertility.

Sometimes, medical problems or treatments cause weight gain, including:

  1. Underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism)

  2. Medicines such as birth control pills, antidepressants, and antipsychotics

  3. Other things that can cause weight gain are:

  4. Quitting smoking. Most people who quit smoking gain 4 – 10 pounds in the first 6 months after quitting. Some people gain as much as 25 – 30 pounds.

  5. Stress, anxiety, feeling sad, or not sleeping well


 

For women: Menopause — women may gain 12-15 pounds during menopause and not losing the weight they gained during pregnancy.


 

The two most common ways to measure health risks from your weight are:-

Body mass index (BMI),Waist circumference (your waist measurement in inches).

BMI is measured using height and weight. You and your health care provider can use your BMI to estimate how much body fat you have.

The World Health Organization uses a classification system using the BMI to define overweight and obesity.

  1. A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is defined as a “pre-obese.”

  2. A BMI of 30 to 34.99 is defined as “obese class I.”

  3. A BMI of 35 to 39.99 is defined as “obese class II.”

  4. A BMI of or greater than 40.00 is defined as “obese class III.”


 

Treatment-

CHANGING YOUR LIFESTYLE

An active lifestyle and regular exercise, along with healthy eating, is the best way to lose weight. Even modest weight loss can improve your health. You will need a lot of support from family and friends.

When dieting, your main goal should be to learn new, healthy ways of eating and make them a part of your daily routine.

Many people find it hard to change their eating habits and behaviors. You may have practiced some habits for so long that you may not even know they are unhealthy, or you do them without thinking. You need to be motivated to make lifestyle changes. Make the behavior change part of your life over the long term. Know that it takes time to make and keep a change in your lifestyle.

Work with your health care provider and dietitian to set realistic, safe daily calorie counts that help you lose weight while staying healthy. Remember that if you drop pounds slowly and steadily, you are more likely to keep them off. Your dietitian can teach you about:

  1. Healthy food choices,Healthy snacks,Sweetened drinks,How to read the nutrition labels.

  2. Blood tests may be done to look for thyroid or hormone problems that could lead to weight gain.

  3. New ways to prepare food.

  4. A modest weight loss of 5%-10% of the initial weight, and long-term maintenance of that weight loss can bring significant health gains, including

  5. Lowered blood pressure reduced blood levels of cholesterol;reduced risk of type 2 (adult-onset) diabetes (In the Nurses Health Study, women who lost 5 kilograms (11 pounds) of weight reduced their risk of diabetes by 50% or more.);Decreased chance of stroke;decreased complications of heart disease;decreased overall mortality.

  6. Learn new ways to manage stress, rather than snacking. Examples may be meditation, yoga, or exercise. If you are depressed or stressed a lot, talk to your health care provider.


 

MEDICATIONS AND HERBAL REMEDIES

You may see ads for supplements and herbal remedies that claim they will help you lose weight. Many of these claims are not true, and some of these supplements can have serious side effects. Talk to your health care provider before using them.

Several prescription weight loss drugs are available. Most people lose between 5 and 10 pounds by taking these drugs. Most people also regain the weight when they stop taking the medicine, unless they have made lasting lifestyle changes, such as exercising and cutting unhealthy foods from their diet.


 

HOMOEOPATHY AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT- There are a lot of treatment options and remedies available in the market for obesity. But almost all of them are associated with serious side effects and toxicity except homeopathy. In homeopathy there are around 180 remedies for obesity. The choice of remedy depends upon the complete case history of the patient.

For example, Fucus v is chose by a homeopath when the patient also has thyroid problem and is constipation. Phytolacca berry is chosen when we have to increase the metabolic rate. Causes and symptoms of Baby Bottle Tooth Decay

Baby bottle syndrome is a decay that affects the milk teeth in children who fall asleep with a bottle containing sugary drinks. Prolonged contact between the liquid and the surface of the teeth promotes the destruction of tooth enamel.

Causes and symptoms

The symptoms of baby bottle tooth decay are discoloration of the tooth (enamel), with the formation of yellow or black spots on the surface.

When a child falls asleep with a bottle containing sugary liquids such as milk, fruit juice, sugar water, or with a pacifier dipped in honey or syrup - bacteria present in the mouth, (streptococcus mutans to be precise) transform the sugar into lactic acid.

Normally, the saliva helps to neutralize this acidity, but its production declines during sleep. Thus, teeth are subjected to acid attacks that promote the formation of cavities. As milk teeth are weaker than permanent teeth, decay can be quick with enamel getting hit first, then dentin and finally the pulp in the centre of the tooth.

At this stage, the infection can spread rapidly to other teeth, causing significant pain when the dental abscess formation often requires removal of the damaged teeth.

Precautions

To avoid it, the first thing to do of course is to stop giving your child a sweetened drink at night or when putting the child for a nap. You should also brush your baby's milk teeth twice a day, especially at bedtime with a cotton swab and water and in a year - with a toothbrush and toothpaste.

In case, the teeth are already decayed or you have doubts about it (staining of the tooth that becomes pink or white can be the harbinger of decay), consult a paediatric dentist immediately. Decayed milk teeth may lead to deformation of the permanent teeth if not attended to immediately.

what is the size of black spots? if the are age spots then they are harmless and don't need treatment. For cosmetic reasons, age spots can be lightened with skin-bleaching products or removed using laser. However, preventing age spots by avoiding the sun and using sunscreen may be the easiest way to maintain your skin's youthful appearance. Do reply back for medication prescriptions.
