These are some key points about the average penis size. While 85% of women were satisfied with the size and proportion of their partner's penis men were less sure of themselves. 1 45% of men believe they have a small penis. It has been concluded that flaccid lengths range around 7 to 10 centimetres (2.8-3.9 inches). Flaccid circumferences range around 9 to 10 centimetres (3.5 to 3.9 inches). Erect lengths range around 12 to 16 centimetres (4.7 to 6.3 inches). Erect circumference is around 12 centimetres (4.7 inches). A higher BMI and older age appear to be weakly associated with a shorter erect penis length. Male concern about whether penile size lives up to the desires of females seems to be Largely misplaced. One study suggested that while the majority of women, some 85%, were satisfied with the size and proportion of their partner's penis, men were less sure of themselves. 1 Almost half of men in the study (45%) believed they had a small penis - yet the researchers reported that small penis size was actually rare. The average penis size to be as follows: Average length for an erect penis is 14.2 cm (5.6 inches) Average circumference of an erect penis is 12.2 cm (4.8 inches). Men who want surgery to increase the length of their penis should try non-invasive methods like penile traction devices or extenders first, and in some cases, even try therapy to make them feel more confident about their bodies. There is no proven scientific method to increase size, girth or grip of penis although many false claims have been propagated by advertisements. The size is determined by an individual’s genetic build and length actually has no relation with sexual pleasure or satisfaction as many wrongly believe. Be happy with your individual qualities nature has bestowed on you. At present, there is no proof of any non-surgical technique that permanently increases either the thickness or length of a normal penis. Some general research has been done regarding the safety and efficacy (or lack thereof) of the ingredients of various pharmaceutical or quasi-pharmaceutical preparations, but thus far, nothing has emerged to cause mainstream medicine to adopt any of them. There are also risks inherent in some of the more invasive procedures, with negative outcomes ranging from the tearing of skin and scarring, to permanent loss of sexual function.

Beat The Heat: 9 Reasons To Relish Watermelon This Summer

Beat The Heat: 9 Reasons To Relish Watermelon This Summer

Of the few things which make summers in the sub-continent somewhat bearable, the watermelon is certainly a chart-topper. Nothing can refresh our tired and dehydrated bodies more than juicy watermelon cubes after a day at the office. The very sight of the large green fruit quenches our thirst somehow.

For a fruit this delicious, the benefits may seem add-ons but take a look at the following and you are sure to jump into the watermelon fan club, in case you are not a member yet:

1. Hydrates the body

The water content in the fruit is more than 90%. Having as little as a cup full of watermelon cubes replenishes fluid level in the body. Electrolytes like calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron are present in abundance that aids the rehydration process.

2. Rejuvenates eye and skin health

Watermelon has a very high vitamin a content. This is a powerful anti-oxidant that fights free radicals in the body and is great for vision and skin. Vitamin a goes a long way in boosting the body's immunity as well.

3. Promotes health of vital organs

Watermelon is a source of potassium. This essential mineral controls blood pressure and the heart rate thereby ensuring proper functioning of the heart. Also, the kidney is another organ that is benefited owing to the water and mineral content of the fruit.

4. Relieves muscle pains

Arginine is an amino acid that improves blood circulation in the body and relaxes the tissue. Watermelon contains the amino acid citrulline that is synthesized into arginine automatically in the body. Thus, it is a food of choice for athletes.

5. Reduces tanning

Watermelon is the richest natural source of lycopene, an antioxidant that combats UV-ray induced free radicals which cause sunburns. Owing to this, only two cups of watermelon can help you get brighter and glowing skin.

6. Promotes sexual health

Studies have shown the fruit to beef up libido in humans. The improved circulation owing to essential minerals present in the fruit will certainly improve performance in the bed.

7. Improves sleep

A few slices of the fruit before bed-time induces the body to secrete serotonin that helps us get deep sleep that is necessary after all the action the fruit promises to help us get.

8. Combats cancer

The lycopene present in watermelon has been shown by some studies to combat the spread of cancer.

9. Low in calories

For its size and roundness, the fruit's calorie and fat content are incredibly low. Thus, using this tasty treat to satiate your hunger is a healthy lifestyle thing. The cholesterol levels also do not go up at all from having watermelon.

It is recommended to have 2 cups of watermelon daily or as frequently as you can get your hands on it. Going up to anywhere between three to four cups should be absolutely fine. So, go ahead and indulge in the goodness of this delicious and hydrating fruit this summer. Stay healthy, stay happy!

Your pain is usually caused by placing too much stress or strain over the trapezius (shoulder) muscle. Treatment is relaxation followed by strengthening of those particular muscles. 1) start your treatment with hot fomentation (using hot water bag over the painful area) - this will help in reducing the spasm. 2) go for self massage technique: tilt your head back, and with the palms and fingers of each hand, squeeze the flesh at the base of your neck on either side of your spine. Then, slowly roll your head forwards, still squeezing your skin. Hold the stretch for 10 seconds, then return your head to an upright position. The amount of flesh you can squeeze depends on your state of relaxation. Follow the above regime for 1 week and then start strengthening exercise to avoid re-occurrence. Regards!

I am suffering from effects of over masturbation. When ever I talk to girl on phone nd come close to her a lubricant ejaculated from my penis and makes me feel weak nd un confident. What should I do?

MD, MBBS
General Physician, Noida
I am suffering from effects of over masturbation. When ever I talk to girl on phone nd come close to her a lubricant ...
You are having psychological problems. You feel masturbation is harmful and it has caused damage to your body. You also seem to have guilt that by doing masturbation, you have done something very wrong. When you talk some girl or come close to her, you have sexual arousal due to hidden or overt sexual lust which causes release of prostratic fluid and also release of mucous from urethral mucous glands intended to cause lubrication during sexual intercourse. It is a natural phenomenon and it is good for your sexual life. As you have high androgenic activity at this age and you do not feel comfortable in presence of girls (might be you didn't have any actual sexual intercourse so far), you are having release of more presexual lubricant. As your age would increase, this problem would be rectified. If this problem is disturbing more to you as it makes your inner wet, you can wear condom. Masturbation is not at all harmful medically. Neither it causes weakness, nor does it cause any other harm. It is natural. Everybody does it. Rather it may be beneficial to your health and sexuality. If done within limits, it may rather be beneficial. But better have natural sex and for that get married soon if not already married. Masturbation may cause psychological problems. If you think it is bad, you may feel unnecessary guilt. If you feel it is harmful to health, you may feel psychologically produced bodily weakness. So if you feel it is bad, don't do it. And if you do it, make your mind to realize that it is not at all bad morally or harmful medically and most of people of all ages do it regularly. Extreme of everything is bad, so do not indulge in so much of masturbation that it disturbs your professional & social life. Yu can discuss further through private questions.

Arthritis - Causes And Risk Factors

Hand Surgery, M.S. (Orthopaedics
Orthopedist, Ahmedabad
Arthritis - Causes And Risk Factors

Arthritis is a disease in which the joints in your body swell. Inflammation or swelling can be caused due to body's natural response to injury or disease. It can cause discomfort in the form of pain, stiffness as well as difficulty in movement. Major types of arthritis are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and gout.

Causes of arthritis

Arthritis is generally caused by a combination of factors. It can happen due to genetic factors in case the disease runs in the family. Sometimes it can be caused due to injuries of the past; it can also be a by-product of your lifestyle. Some of the common causes of arthritis are:

1. Genetic makeup in which arthritis can be a hereditary trait
2. Physically taxing work life or injuries caused in an accident
3. Imbalance in the immunity system
4. Infections in the joint.

Risk Factors associated with arthritis

1. Family history - You can be prone to develop arthritis if it runs in the family. It can occur due to its hereditary trait hence making you more vulnerable to the environmental factors which contribute to developing arthritis.

2. Age - The risk of arthritis can increase with age. Types like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout are more common in the old age.

3. Gender - Your sex is an important factor as women are more likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis while men are prone to suffer from gout.

4. Joint injury - Joint injury caused due to accidents or due to sports activities can trigger arthritis. People with previous joint injuries can develop arthritis in that joint.

5. Obesity - Excess weight can put a lot of pressure on the joints, on the knees and hips in particular. Hence, obese people have more chances of developing arthritis than fitter people. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a rheumatologist and ask a free question.
