You are still young. Only since 5 years you are smoking. These things makes quitting comparatively easy. Later, it is hard and takes more efforts to quit. If you have any withdrawal symptoms like headache, lack of concentration, increased hunger, irritability or lack of memory, you can try with nicotine gum or lozenges or patch. Please motivate yourself continuously with some gifts for next 12 weeks. That will reduce craving for nicotine. All the best. Cough and chest pain needs investigations to rule out harmful effects of smoking. Even if they are normal at present, quitting smoking keeps it normal for many years.

Once i was playing carrom i remember my hands were shaking and my heart was beating and i was calming myself after this incident i startd concentrating on my heart and trying to stop it. Now i know that was heart's fast beating but i want my subconcious to accept it and want to come out of it.

Hi, It seems to be more of anxiety rather than cardiac complaint. Better visit a nearby doctor or share more details of your whole case o know the cause and the diagnosis of your condition. Here are few asanas which will help you in reducing the anxiety problem. -Sit in the meditation position (cross-legged or heel seat) and put the hands in the lap. The back is straight and the belly relaxed. Stop one minute every thought. Then remain in meditation, thoughts can come and go as they please. All feelings of anger, fear and grief appear and dissolve by themselves. -Dhanurasana: Lie on your stomach with your feet hip-width apart and your arms by the side of your body. Fold your knees and hold your ankles. Breathing in, lift your chest off the ground and pull your legs up and back. Look straight ahead Keep the pose stable while paying attention to your breath. Your body is now taut as a bow. Continue to take long deep breaths as you relax in this pose. But don’t get carried away! Do not overdo the stretch. After 15 -20 seconds, as you exhale, gently bring your legs and chest to the ground. Release the ankles and relax. -Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. (The mind and body are deeply connected. If the mind is occupied by thoughts and worries then the shavasana will be unsuccessful. Therefore one has to acquire the stability of the mind along with the stability of the body.) Anuloma involves inhaling through both nostrils together and exhaling each breath alternately between the left and right nostrils. The thumb of the right hand is used to manipulate the right nostril, while the pinky and ring finger are used to control the left nostril. There are many other poses of yoga like Balasan, Setu Bandha Sarvangasan, Uttanasan, Garudasan, Savasana, Triconasana, Viprita Karani, Marjaryasana, Dhyana, Bhujangasana, Anulom-Vilum, Pranayam, etc. Another stress-buster can be getting involved in any of your hobbies (may be a childhood hobby which you used to enjoy a lot!) - dancing, singing, painting, listening to soothing music, playing musical instruments, etc. (Believe me, you would really enjoy doing this alone as well or may be with your friends, kids). Medication: Take Bakson’s Calm Aid tablet/ 1 tablet daily once for 4 weeks. And do practice breathing exercises (Pranayam, Anulom-Vilum) and meditation.

Jallandhar is affected by pollution as much as Delhi is. Asthma might have been due to allergy. Yes lack of fresh oxygen is bad for lungs and heart, try to grow indoor plants and inhale fresh oxygen , chances of a heart disease are low at age 19 , still get the cardiac profile done along with x-ray chest. get back here with reports.

To increase HDL cholesterol. 1 exercise daily for 40 to 50 minutes. 2. Take 5 almonds and 1 walnut daily. 3. Use fish or fish oil at least thrice a week. 4. Use Alsi seeds powder at least 1 Tsf daily.

Dear, I am glad that you are thoughtful about him. Proper diet control and physical activity will help him for sure. Please ask him to do 45mins of walking regularly along with healthy eating. Include loats of fruits and vegetables regularly and include sufficient water which is a natural blood thinner. Yes, please cut down salt as much as possible.

Prevention of a heart attack before or after a heart attack- no bad fats, only good fats like a spoon of pure ghee/butter + a katori of assorted nuts to give healthy fats and proteins. No smoking/exposure to pollution. Lead a disciplined lifesyle with minimum negative tensions. Positive stress is good as it brings along good results. Loneliness is worse than bad fats. Keep busy in socially productive activities. Exercise regularly according to tolerance. Eat lots of seasonal vegetables and fruits. Reduce salt to bare minimum, avoid packaged foods as they have high salt content as preservative. Take more potassium like citrus fruits, oranges, lemons, amla, banana. You are only 24, as a social service pass on the tips of healthy living with as many people as you can get blood sugar test & total lipid profile done as a routine.

Hi there. Dry cough associated with chest pain since last 2 weeks. I suggest you to go for a chest x ray becoz pneumonia or a pleural effusion needs to be ruled out because sometimes they can present in a similar mannner. Also most of the times excessive coughing may lead to stretching of accessory respiratory muscles which may lead to chest pain. Also to keep in mind chronic acidity is a common cause of dry cough. Please consult a doctor if the problem persists. Take care.

Try fat restricted diet, no junk food. Regular minimum 45 minute strenius exercise do this for 2 months then check 12 hour fasting lipid profile and TSH, FBS PPBS URIC ACID REPORTS.
