Have you tested his tft? if not do it and send me the report. If you give semi solids in addition to breast milk then you must give boiled water in between fed with cup and spoon never give bottle feed, no matter however you sterilise it. As you are already giving carrot and dates you can try giving mashed banana (small plantain like robusta). If there is no relief inform me privately > I can suggest safe natural drugs with no side effects. Must tell his weight.

If your baby is exclusively breastfed, it doesn't matter if he does not pass stool everyday. Some breastfed babies go without passing stools for a week, but it is perfectly normal provided they are exclusively breastfed.

Study Smarter and Not Harder!

There are few things I hear over and over again from students -

  • How they are studying for so many in a day
  • How they do not have even time for anything else in their life due to study pressure
  • How they are sleep deprived
  • How much they are stressed
  • And finally, after all the sacrifices and hard work, their exam performance is not what they expect.

Here are few tips to study smart, improve your grades and yet have a life!

We all know that 2 hours of focused study will be much more productive than 4 hours of distracted study.

And the good news is that concentration is a mental skill that you can develop and improve.
There are two ways to improve your concentration:

First, work on raising your brain's natural ability to concentrate or in other words, learn to increase your attention span.

Second, adjust the environment around you to make concentrating easier.

Improving your concentration takes a little time and effort, but it is worth it. In my personal experience with students, I have seen noticeable improvement in relatively short time.


Ideas for daily concentration-boosting habits include:

 

  • Mindfulness meditation - many studies confirm that 20 minutes of meditation or more per day improves concentration and attention span. Mindfulness meditation, where one focuses on one's breathing, is one of the simplest way of meditation. Start with ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes before bed. To begin with you may try a guided meditation. One can easily find audios for guided meditation online.
  • Proper sleep - I am sorry to say this. Pulling all nighters will not help with your grade. Unless you are getting sufficient restful sleep, you are not going to be as mentally focused as you could be to study as well as answer questions in exams.
  • Food for your Brain - The more you use certain skills, the more they are reinforced in the brain. So it makes sense that playing concentration games and games that require you to focus will improve your concentration ability. You need to be consistent in this. Play for about 10 to 20 minutes each day. Have fun, and get the benefits but remember not to spend more than 20 minutes a day. Your goal is to improve your concentration and not just keep scoring higher in the game!   • Eat healthier - your brain needs the proper nutrients to allow you to focus. Eat more vegetables and fruits and avoid consumption of junk food as much as possible. Instead you could keep some nuts such as walnuts, almond or peanuts as in between munches. Lot of research has now proven that sugar is very harmful for our health. Reduce sugar and refined white flour in your diet as much as you could.
  • Exercise - is helpful in both reducing stress and increasing energy and focus. At least 20 minutes a day would go a long way. Going for a short jog of 20 minutes will make next 4-5 hours of study very efficient.


Optimize your mental state and environment:

In addition to building the habits described above into your daily routine; also adjust your environment and your current mental state to improve your concentration when studying.

Create a study space - Your brain loves routine. Create a place where all you do is study. An obvious choice is a secluded desk of some kind, but the trick is to make sure you only study in that spot. Studying in bed is a bad habit, for example, because your body is trained to want to sleep once you get into bed.
Remove distractions - Turn off the ringer on your phone and take other steps to prevent interruptions. Don't study with the television on or with radio playing. Some studies have shown that soft instrumental music (no vocals) can help improve your concentration.
Reduce background noises - If you have to study or work in an environment where it is too loud (classroom or open space) or too quiet (such as at home or at a library) you can get easily distracted by outside influences. With the right amount of background noise you can actually block out distractions and enhance your creative thinking.
Use timer - Set a time limit when you need to study new material. For example, let's say you want to read one chapter in a book (and remember it). Decide in advance that you can have 45 minutes to read the chapter, and 15 minutes to review it. Set a timer to keep yourself honest, then pace yourself to keep within the allotted time.
Stay motivated - If you see studying as burden, it's hard to concentrate. One way to stay motivated is to set up a reward system. Tell yourself you have to earn that hour of watching your favorite show later in the evening by first completing 2-3 hours of intense studying.
That way, even if the material is dry, you have the reward to look forward to.
Take breaks - Take a break every two hours. You mental energy will begin to decline after a long period of study. So every two hours or so, take a ten minute break. Walk around, eat a light snack, or just stare at the wall to relax your mind.
Concentrating is the first step to learning anything new. It only makes sense that if you improve your concentration, your memory will improve also.

Well you are giving weaning food in correct way as far as daily protein requirement is concerned. I'm fine with it but for weight gain you needed carbs. Which you e giving less. Give rice khichdi. Modak. Kheer. Milk products. Sweets. Daal with added jaggery etc would add upon carbs. Along with this make sure liquid diet specially milk should not have been reduced. Yes I do agree weight is bit less for given age. And solutions are as per I mentioned above. Eggs should be full boiled and preferably egg white rather then egg yolk. Regards.

Vaccine mut be give on specified date, but if its not possible due such unavoidable instances then, need to worry. Let your child recover completely, then you see your pediatrician. Vaccination delay is not a serious problem, for few vaccines, but as far as possible it should and must be given once your baby is healthy. Kindly visit your pediatrician, as he will guide you better. Happy Parenting!

Hello lybrate-user, breast milk flows when baby sucks at breast. Feed your baby every 2-3 hours by letting it suck at breast for atleast 10 minutes on either sides. Have healthy diet urself, & ask your gynecologist to prescribe meds to increase milk flow. If nothing helps you can opt for formula milk/cow/buffallo's milk. Goat milk is not recommonded as its deficiant in folic acid.

Most common cause is nose pickings by child .allergy in nose can also leads to nose bleed. I would suggest you to go for cause. This will lead to reduced bleed incidence.

If you have been diagnosed with asthma, it is important for you to know about the most common triggers of asthma. Asthma is a medical condition, which is characterised by paroxysmal wheezing respiration dyspnoea. It causes breathing difficulties, tightened chest and coughing. By identifying and reducing your exposure to several asthma triggers, you will be able to manage or control your asthma symptoms and the frequency of your asthma attacks. Here are the most common triggers of asthma you should know about:

Allergies that trigger asthma
Allergies, are common problems and over 80% of people are suffering from asthma and are allergic towards substances like weed pollens, animal dander, dust mites, mould and cockroach particles. Children having large amounts of cockroach droppings in their homes are more likely to develop childhood asthma. Dust exposure may lead to dust mite allergy in asthmatic patients.

Food which triggers asthma
Certain food allergies may lead to isolated asthma, where other symptoms are absent. Patients with food allergies can exhibit asthma as a part of anaphylaxis, which are food induced. The common food items which are associated with allergies include eggs, peanuts, cow milk, soy, fish, wheat, shrimps, salads and fresh fruits. Several food preservatives also trigger asthma. They may include sulfite additives such as potassium bisulfite, potassium metabisulfite, sodium sulfite, sodium bisulfate and many others. These are commonly used in food processing and trigger asthma in sensitive people.

Asthma induced by exercise
Strenuous exercise may lead to the narrowing of the airways in maximum people having asthma. Exercise acts as a primary trigger for asthma symptoms in many people. Patients having exercise induced asthma are likely to feel chest tightness accompanied by coughing and breathing difficulties after completing an aerobic workout session. Although the symptoms subside, they may reoccur within some hours. You should warm up properly and slowly before a rigorous workout session to prevent an asthma attack.

Smoking
People who smoke are more likely to have asthma. If you have asthma and still smoke, the symptoms of wheezing and coughing worsen. Pregnant women who smoke increase the chance of wheezing in their to-be-born babies. You should absolutely quit smoking if you have asthma.

Infections which trigger asthma
Several infections such as cold, bronchitis, flu and sinus may cause asthma attacks. The respiratory infections, which are viral or bacterial, are a common cause and trigger asthma, especially in children. Asthma is also associated with severe heartburn. According to studies, more than 85% people with asthma also suffer from heartburn. This is a condition known as gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

My daughter is 3.5 years old and is on feeding. My wife also wants to leave but my daughter doesn't leave pls help me to leave her feeding as all night she keeps on feeding and doesn't eat anything in evening. Pls help on the same at urgent basis.

The feeding habit is not an easy one to get rid of. Because it has been formed from almost the first day the child is born. And the child has got very used to (almost addicted to) the feeding. As the child grows older, the feeding does not provide much nutrition or fill the stomach, but it gives them a sense of security and safety and bonding with mother. And from the child's point of view, there is nothing wrong in feeding. She has no problem. Problem is always from parents side. Unfortunately, there is no easy method for stopping feeding at this age. In very small babies, if the mother applies something bitter to her breasts, the child might reject it. Older children do not stop even with such things. There are usually only two choices 1) just stop, and let the baby cry. The baby will cry for a day or two, and then, as she realizes that her crying is of no use, and that no one is going to pamper her, she herself lets go and stops. 2) separate the child and the mother for a few days. Let the child go to the grandmother's or aunt's house. This breaks the attachment with the mother. When the child comes back, she will still look for breast feeding, but the intensity of her craving will be much less, for she has learnt to take care of herself without this feeding, and it will be easy to get rid of the feeding.

It is the coilc form the powder which you may be giving in bottle and stop bottle and feed if you must with a spoon. Breast milk and homemade mashed food is the best in this age . Inform me personally

What is the age of your child? if you give bottle feed the milk production will decrease. It is better to exclusively breastfeed the babies till 6 months. Ask me privately for regular advice on child rearing.

I am 32 years old. Recently I hv a c section delivered a baby. After that I used some ayurvedic mefic to keep body heat. So now am getting excess dehydration. My total body is burning. Unable to feed baby also am getting fatigue, tired really feeling discomfort. What should I do.

Please stop this medicine. Continue with your iron and calcium supplements. Drink plenty of fluids like water, coconut water, lassi, milk, soups, fresh juices etc to keep yourself hydrated. If this does not relieve your problems, then you would need to get some blood tests like cbc, tsh etc and meet a gynaecologist.
