Please follow below mentioned safety guidelines –

 Do’s:

1) Always light fire crackers in open Spaces only. Stand at an arm’s length from crackers while lighting the crackers.

2) For children, always lit crackers in presence of parents or elder persons. In case of burns , immediately management can be possible.

3) Keep safe distance from our body while lighting the crackers.

4) Keep bucket filled with water near the place where fire crackers are to be lightened.

5) Store crackers away from electrical supply or sources of  fire.

6) Crackers which do not explode, should be doused with sand or water. Prevent children from picking up such fire crackers.

7) Use bucket of water or sand to discard used fireworks.

Don’t:

Do let me know your current medications to treat acne? Acne is a common problem in teen. Almost everybody will get pimples during their teen years. First, Don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction(rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, Avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin E on scars. You may have heard that applying vitamin E to a scar will help it heal faster. But according to a study , applying the nutrient directly onto a scar can actually hinder its healing. In the study, vitamin E either had no effect or made matters worse for 90% of the patients, and 33% who put vitamin E on the skin developed a contact dermatitis. Increasing the intake of omega-3 fatty acids through a diet significantly rich in fish and seafood results in lower rates of an inflammatory disease like acne. A low-glycemic-index diet also reduces acne risk. I being a both a registered dietitian (RD) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications . I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for Rx.

Hi lybrate-user! Congratulations first of all. You still have 3 months at your hand for improving skin texture and complexion. The dull skin can be attributed to reasons like excessive sun exposure, inadequate sunscreen use, poor exfoliation of skin, poor nutrition, lack of exercise. You can start at the very basic like taking food rich in antioxidants like berries, green tea, kiwis, walnuts, olive oil, green vegetables, salmon, fish. Start applying serums rich in vitamin C and Vitamin E. Use sunscreen every 2-3 hours between 9 am to 5 pm even indoors. Sleep 7-8 hours. Start taking supplements for Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Antioxidants (beta carotene).

I have red spots on my skin on my whole body. They are something like a rash, and are burning. I also had a fever a few days ago but it broke yesterday. I am also suffering from weakness. My local doctor suggested tests for dengue but since I don't have any fever, I am quite unsure if I should go for the tests. What exactly is the illness?

It is better you get a full examination for any other kind of virus and fungal infection. Even if the fever is over, it is necessary to take targeted treatment. Regards.

Hi black forehead may be due to tanning from sunlight. You need to stop putting excessive oil to hair. You need to use broad spectrum sunscreen and hat. You can also undergo few sessions of chemical peels. The application of medicated cream will help.

How To Get Rid Of Wrinkles in 5 Easy Steps?

Do you know the sun is making your skin age faster? Plus, 5 other reasons behind facial wrinkles

Facial wrinkling occurs when the skin develops creases, folds and ridges. The formation of wrinkles is a normal part of the process of skin ageing. However, certain factors may accelerate the process and lead to premature wrinkling of the face and other parts of the body.

The main causes of facial wrinkling are:

  • Skin ageing: as a person gets older, his/her skin becomes less taut and begins to sag. The production of natural oils and fat in the deeper layers of the skin gets reduced with age, which leads to the formation of wrinkles due to diminished skin elasticity.
  • Sun exposure: constant exposure of skin to the sun causes damage and speeds up the ageing process. The harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun break down collagen and collective tissue fibres, which is the primary cause of premature wrinkling.
  • Skin complexion: due to the absence of melanin, people with fairer (lighter) skin, experience more damage due to sun exposure. This causes them to develop wrinkles much earlier.
  • Facial muscle contraction: repeatedly making the same facial expressions and contraction of face muscles causes wrinkling. Those who constantly frown, smile or squint get facial wrinkles as it leads to reduced skin elasticity.
  • Smoking: smokers are more susceptible to premature wrinkling. This is due to the presence of nicotine, tar and other chemicals from the smoke in the bloodstream, which hamper the supply of blood and oxygen to the outer layers of skin.
  • Genetic factors: many people get facial wrinkling as a result of hereditary causes and family genetics.

However, the good news is that facial wrinkling can be prevented through these simple ways:

  • Sun protection: This is the most effective way of avoiding wrinkles. Keep yourself protected against sun exposure by staying out of the sun as much as possible and wearing sunscreen at all times.
  • Quitting the smoke: Kicking the habit will show a marked improvement in your skin quality and would help prevent further wrinkling.
  • Use of moisturisers: Dry skin is more prone to wrinkling. Keeping your skin supple and moisturised prevents wrinkles.
  • Leading a healthy lifestyle: The combination of following a nutritious diet, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep and regularly exercising keeps the skin young and wrinkle-free.
  • Treatment options: There are several options to improve wrinkles by procedures which include botox, fillers, prp and lasers for skin tightening. The most suitable option can be chosen depending upon the severity and type of wrinkling. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.
