leg swelling caused by the retention of fluid in leg tissues is known as peripheral edema. It can be caused by a problem with the circulatory system, the lymphatic system or the kidneys. swelling may be due to low calorie diet tends to draw lesser amount of water from the tissue because of meager presence of protein, which leads to water retention. and high salt intake also cause for swelling. first take balance diet and reduce salt intake. do exercise and yoga regularly. if still problem remain then visit to doctor and take proper treatment.

Phimosis, if present since birth, is purely a surgical condition. But if it develops in later age due to any inflammation/infection then there are many homeopathic medicines like merc. Iod. Hi whatever you eat yesterday thats why it occur. It will subside just take following remedies 1. Laghu sut shekhar ras vati 2 tab 2 time a day 2. Manjishtadi kadha 2 tsp before lunch and dinner 3. Saunf 1tsp + 1 glass of water boiled it and drink it at the time of lunch and dinner 4. Eat only mung dal and rice for a day only.

Dear Lybrateuser, -Your problem could be due to acidity -avoid fried, spicy & junk food, chew your food well, do not skip meals, have meals on time, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bed time -stop/reduce smoking as it causes all the problems, stopping it can reverse the harmful changes -take syrup gelusil, 2teaspoonful half an hour after every meal -do regular exercises like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, do yoga, deep breathing for 10-15 min in the morning -as you are a smoker get investigations done, blood sugar, cholesterol profile, x-ray chest, ecg, tmt to rule out any heart problem, consult a doctor.

Hello. Darker urine is usually a sign that you're not drinking enough fluid. Certain medications can turn the urine fluorescent green or blue, vitamins can give it a yellow hue. Yellow urine may also there in jaundice. Certain food also turns the colour of urine yellow like beetroot. Blood in the urine, also known as Haematuria, can cause darker urine. Haemolytic Anemia can cause dark yellow urine color. Hepatitis (inflammation of liver) can cause a darker urine color. So, get your urine tested and blood tested for CBC & LFT done.

Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem kindly follow advises given below you can take: 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error 4. We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician for further management.

I have been diagnosed for meniers disease from doctor in Silchar & same has been confirmed by CMC Vellore. I was having symptoms of giddiness, hearing loss & tinnitus in the left ear. After treatments from CMC Vellore (Medicine taken Ditide, 90 tab, one daily; vertistar-16, 60 tab, 2 daily; stemetil-5, 5 mg, as & when required) giddiness has been cured but tinnitus & hearing loss still persists what to do now?

Hi lybrate-user, you r recovered from dizziness problem, good. But tinnitus and hearing problem are still there, ok. Listen, you r suffering from tinnitus in left ear, and meniere's disease is still there, so you must reduce sodium intake in your diet and try to avoid noisy places as possible by u, because the main reason behind tinnitus is noise exposure. And divert your attention from tinnitus sound as far as possible. Stay stress free all the day, also anxiety can increase tinnitus problem. Ok. Try to avoid caffeinated products, cola etc. Usually there is no remedy for tinnitus, but the above precautions can prevent you from more irritating perception of tinnitus sounds. And hearing loss is due to meniere's disease and lower frequencies are mostly affected, so get your ear checked and continue the above explained precautions for better result.

Hello doctor, I am suffering from lower abdominal pain for 3-4 days. When I am sneezing it pains a lot. I thought of it as gastric problem but after taking pan-D in morning it is not gone. Turn That Beer Belly Into Six Pack Abs in 4 Easy Steps

Beer belly is a word that is used to describe a fat tummy that results from excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks. In case of any alcohol drink, the liver tends to burn alcohol instead of fat which leads to bigger tummies. Basically, if the calorie intake is higher than calorie expenditure, then fat tends to accumulate in the body.

Now if you want to turn that beer belly into six pack abs, then you need to follow these rules:

  1. Limit carbohydrate consumption: This means you have to cut down on sugar and starch based foods such as refined flour, aerated drinks and anything that has sugar in it. Follow a strict diet that focuses on limited amount of whole grains. Avoid simple carbohydrates which tend to spike blood sugar levels and aid in fat accumulation. Reduce your portion sizes to decrease your overall calorie consumption.
  2. Eat fiber: Increase fiber consumption as fiber is beneficial for losing fat. It helps in you feeling fuller and thus, eat less. Fiber also reduces the chances of various life threatening diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and bad cholesterol levels in the body. Eat foods that are rich in fiber such as beans, lentils and broccoli.
  3. Weight training: Weight training helps in losing body fat by increasing muscle mass in the body. Muscle burns calories at rest, so more muscle means more calorie burnt. Weight training also increases your metabolism which means your overall calorie expenditure will increase significantly. If you don't have access to a gym then combine bodyweight exercises such as pushups, squats and pull ups in a circuit. A sample workout circuit would be 20 push up, 20 squats and 5 pull ups one after the other. Rest for a minute and then repeat the circuit 5 times.
  4. Cardio: Cardio is very important in losing fat from all over your body. Opt for HIIT (high intensity interval training) instead of steady state cardio like jogging at the same pace over a period of time. Too much steady state cardio increases cortisol levels in the body leading to muscle loss. Instead focus on HIIT which means you do an exercise at full throttle for a short period of time such as 30 seconds. Rest for 20 seconds and then to another exercise for 30 seconds. Repeat the procedure for another 10 minutes. This method keeps your metabolism elevated for 48 hours after your workout.
