You are being medicated for your nervous symptoms. These medicines are surely to have side effect of drowsiness, sleeepy feeling like you are feeling now. If you are able to learn different methods to relax your body and mind with proper yogasana, proper diet, meditation, you will not need any of these medicines. All your medical reports are within normal limits. If you remain medicine dependent, in future your health is likely to suffer. Try to learn at a reputed Yoga Pranayama center.

I am suffering from frequent headache for a long period. How can I find a solution for the cure of my disease?
hi asfaque , for long term remedy of headache tablets are not the treatment. initially try to spend stress less life. or if you have stress go for yoga or meditation. if not you can spend time in walking for half an hour per day which helps in blood circulation to brain. drink plenty of water of atleast 5 to 6:litres of water per day which boosts up the circulation to brain and prevents headaches.. hope I answered your question. don't hesitate to ask me any quiries if you have . have a good day.

Dear Lybrate user. Sex thoughts, Sex addiction, masturbation addiction, porn films addiction etc comes under behavior addiction. Behavioral addiction is a form of addiction that involves a compulsion to engage in a rewarding non-drug-related behavior – sometimes called a natural reward – despite any negative consequences to the person's physical, mental, social or financial well-being. Diverting your mind and body away from the circumstances which compels you for the addictive habit, with the help of physical exercises, games, entertainment etc can help you. Never sleep alone. Be always with your family even at night etc are some other tips. Willpower is the key always. Behavioral therapy also works well. Take care.

My wife had cold and then she recovered but now her right ear has blocked. Any suggestions?
Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as one of the body's natural defenses against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at a higher temperatures..Also, the body's defense mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or more may be dangerous and demand immediate treatment The following medications may be used at home for mild fever : -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used in children during a viral illness. -Wear comfortable loose fitting clothes and donot overdress. Overdressing can cause the temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) baths may help bring down a fever -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -Fever can cause dehydration.Drink plenty of fluids.Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami,Amla juice etc. -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals .avoid outside food -Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water especially before meals, or after returning from a public places or using public transport. -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly

I'm 18 year old boy. I had a CT scan recently. For my nasal polyp removal operation. I heard that one CT scan can expose radiation as 200 chest x-ray. Is it true ? Will it increase the possibility for cancer?

M.Ch - Surgical Oncology, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Oncologist, Delhi
yes, the radiation exposure from one ct scan is many times to that of an xray. and it is also true that excessive radiation exposure can induce cancers. but there is also a limit ro radiation exposure in a year the body can ssfely tolerate. 1 or 2 ct scans done properly in a year for diagnosing a problem, do not increase your risk of developing cancer significantly. so don't worry.

Hello Sir, I have been suffering from severe ache in left heel. I couldn't walk for a few steps when I get out from bed in the morning. I have been taking pain killers and applying volini, hot and cold packs. But the ache is aggravating rather than diminishing. I do suspect either Plantar or Heel spur. please guide me further. Does diabetes have such symptoms only in one leg?

Hello Sir, I have been suffering from severe ache in left heel. I couldn't walk for a few steps when I get out from b...
Try few home remedies for heel pain rest - avoid running or standing for long periods, or walking on hard surfaces. Avoid activities that may stress the heels. Ice - place an ice-pack on the affected area for about 15 minutes. Do not place bare ice directly onto skin. Footwear - proper-fitting shoes that provide good support are crucial. Athletes should be particularly fussy about the shoes they use when practicing or competing - sports shoes need to be replaced at specific intervals (ask your trainer). Foot supports - wedges and heel cups can help relieve symptoms. If these doesn't help please see a physiotherapist who can teach you exercises which stretch the plantar fascia and achilles tendon, as well as strengthening the lower leg muscles, resulting in better stabilization of the ankle and heel. You may also be taught how to apply athletic taping, which gives the bottom of the foot better support. Prevention of heel pain involves reducing the stress on that part of the body. Tips include: barefeet - when on hard ground make sure you are wearing shoes. Bodyweight - if you are overweight there is more stress on the heels when you walk or run. Try to lose weight. Footwear - footwear that has material which can absorb some of the stress placed on the heel may help protect it. Examples include heel pads. Make sure your shoes fit properly and do not have worn down heels or soles. If you notice a link between a particular pair of shoes and heel pain, stop wearing them. Rest - if you are especially susceptible to heel pain, try to spend more time resting and less time on your feet. It is best to discuss this point with a specialized health care professional. Sports - warm up properly before engaging in activities that may place lots of stress on the heels. Make sure you have proper sports shoes for your task. Best wishes.
