Mr SS Prasad, Tinnitus or ringing sound in ear is a fairly common condition that develops in older aged persons. It occurs because of affection to inner ear (labyrinthitis). Diabetes and high blood pressure do not directly affect it. However, it good to keep both the conditions in proper check. There are variious drugs used to control tinnitus, but it is a tough condition to cure. It is better if you consult a competent ENT surgeon for this.

Use five teaspoons of turmeric powder and blend it together with 250 ml of mustard oil. Use this paste on the patches two times a day. Use it over six months for good results.

Your mothers diet should have low fat content with medium carbohydrate with high protein content and make her stand in early morning sunlight and tell her to drink minimum three litres of water.

Avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them. Reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco. In general, establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress. Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches. Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.

DEAR Lybrate USER. You have to follow some basic things so that you get better results in a short period of time. …. 1) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals …. 2) don’t drink water before meal for one hour and one hour after meal…3) avoid oily, spicy, junk, fermented and stale foods…. 4) avoid late night sleeping habits …5) avoid coffee and tea…. A) take 30ml of BHRUNGARAJASAVAM and 30 ml of water and 1 TSF of jiggery after meals. B) take 2 tablets of vaatgajankush rasa early in the morning on empty stomach with 1 tsf of honey…. C) apply equal quantity mixture of fresh lemon juice and garlic juice on the roots of hairs…. Leave it for 30-45 minutes…. After that wash hairs with ROOTZ SHAMPOO (rajah ayurveda) three times in a week…… do all things for 30 days. These things are much more effective. Consult to me for further suggestion. THANKS.

I have epilepsy I am in medication with Oxytol 300 for two years Since then I haven't experienced any seizures my doctor says it will take 2-3 years to cure. I want to ask what is the reason for it? Can the medication cause long term health risks? My CT scan of brain is normal and my recent EEG report shows" Sharp transients occurring from both hemispheres of brain" as it showed two years before. Am I improving?

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Weight gain is all about taking more calories than you burn. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps weight gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 main and mid meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, starchy vegetables, rice, bread, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, ghee, cream in your meals. Just eating sugary, sweet foods is not good. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite.  Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

Hello Lybrate user. The case is when your health deplets. For eg ; when you skip your breakfast out of busy routine lifestyle, or when you diet, or when your hb level in blood is low, when your calcium nd proteins intake is low, any intake of antibiotics or any other drugs for asthma, sneezing, headache etc (intake of antibiotics increase body temperature & thus hair falls, decrease in intake of water.(* at least 12 glasses of water you need to take per day. 1 glass = 250 ml) - hair falls. By these reasons there occurs hormonal changes in your body. DHT - dihydrotestosterone an blocker at the root of hair follicle nd blocks the entry of rest of the proteins nd other nutrients to the hair through blood. Hair growth diminishes nd become dull. By time it falls. So first you identify your case. And for your knowledge let me add something called anaphase of the hair growth cycle. There are actually 3 phases for hair growth .the first stage is anaphase. Its the stage where hair grows. Hair fall is not a disease first of all. Hair fall is a phenonmenon by which aged hair falls nd new hair grows. What happens really is that bcuz of many reasons hair falls too much nd hair is not able to re-grow at the same rate of hair fall. So basically what most of the doctors do is identify the reason for hair fall nd will correct the same. Along with that they will boost up the anaphase of the hair growth cycle by prescribing internal medinices to remove the DHT blockers nd external herbal oils nd herbal wash to swipe off the debris of the scalp to make it a shiny base for hair to growth. I basically do not know any remedies or any natural home made items to resolve the dht at home. Its purely a condition that you to have medicine internally. What I prescribe is herbal medicine .so it will be good for you to take medicine internally till dht is been resolved. You also consult me for futher doublts.

Gums bleeding is due to infection in gums. Get scalling done by dentist. Take vit c tab for one week. Use proper brushing techniques. Brush, floss n use mouthwash twice daily. Massage your gums with your finger tips after brushing. Keep your tongue clean. Rinse your mouth well after each meal. Visit your dentist for dental checkups every 6 months to detect n prevent dental probs.

Coconut oil has several benefits for your hair. Not only does it promote hair growth, but also conditions it. It has essential fats, minerals and proteins which reduce hair breakage and is also rich in potassium and iron. You can use coconut oil or milk to prevent hair fall. Steps: warm a bit of coconut oil and massage it from your hair root to tip. Wash after one hour. Or, grate a coconut and squeeze out its milk by mixing in a little water. Apply it on the area where you notice thinning or balding. Let it stay overnight and wash off the next morning.

the pain may be due to muscle fatigue or spasm caused by exercise as the muscle in the lower abdomen is weak due to prior surgery. use a lumbar or gym belt and avoid heavy wt lifting. it can cause hernia

Allopathy does not have any medicines for reversal of diabetes. However, i would like to caution you against falling into any trap for ayurved "babas" who give "bhasm / powder / bitter pills" for reversal of diabetes. These contain heavy metals and steroids which destroy your kidneys and give you life-long dialysis. If you take your prescribed medicines on time. Follow a regular diet and exercise schedule. Get your blood tests done as advised. And never miss any follow-up with the doctor. Diabetes will be easily manageable :)

Gaining weight is as difficult as losing it, if you are naturally thin. Skinny people complain that they can't put on any weight.If you want to build up weight, don't just eat high-calorie junk foods and rely on unnecessary supplements. Choose foods that are energy-dense and nutrient-dense whenever possible. Following are some tips to follow to increase your weight. You will take some time to gain the weight you need, but be patient. 1. If you have a rapid metabolism, then you must increase your daily intake of healthy foods (increase your intake of carbohydrates) to compensate for the rate at which you burn energy. Eat six smaller meals a day You should also eat more energy dense foods like healthy oils, dry fruits, seeds, nuts, pulses, etc. along with some starchy foods like potatoes, cereals, bread, pasta, rice, etc. 2. Consume more calories than you burn. Choose healthy calorie-dense food to add calories. Drink healthy beverages to add calories. Mangoes are rich in calories and carbohydrates, include them in your diet. 3. Eat healthy food frequently, 5-6 times a day - 3 larger meals and 3 smaller meals alternately. Separate them by at least 3 hours so you can digest each meal fully. Don't go without food for 5-6 hours after having a major meal. For example, if you wish to consume 3000 calories a day, you may eat 3 larger meals of about 650 calories and 3 smaller meals of about 450 calories. 4. Have a balanced diet. 5. Exercise regularly for putting on weight. Some thin people think that exercise is not good for them. This is not true, it keeps the metabolism high. Remember that eating alone is not sufficient. You don't want to gain fat but lean mass, so exercise is important. Resistance training exercises will help to increase your muscle mass, which in turn will increase metabolism. Learn to distinguish between weight gaining exercises and weight loss exercises. Note that if you do not get enough amino acids during exercise, the existing muscle may break down. Amino acids come from protein foods so you should eat such foods after exercise. Keep in mind that excessive exercise without putting back the energy you have used will not help you to put on weight.
