5 Things You Must Never Consume Empty Stomach!

From our early memories, we would have been drilleed down with the importance of food and the benefits of eating certain foods. We naturally tend to assume that foods make us grow and sometimes we end up gobbling tons of food with a childhood innocence that they are going to make us taller and smarter in a jiffy. Looking back, we tend to smile at those memories nostalgically. However, in some cases, we grow up or we simply ignore one basic rule of eating the right food at the right time.

Foods are very much related to time and the physics of our body can agree with them only if they are taken for a certain period. For instance, there are some foods that are beneficial to us, but can actually work in a negative way, if taken at a wrong time. For example, there are some foods that should never be taken on an empty stomach. Here are some such foods that you may want to know:

  1. Tomatoes: Tomatoes are no doubt full of vitamins and antioxidants. However, when eaten on an empty stomach, these ingredients combine with acidic nature of our stomach and can result in stomach block. They put unnecessary pressure on the stomach and can cause stomach ache. This can be dangerous for people who are already suffering from ulcers.
  2. Citrus Fruits: Though citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, and lemons are high in vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants, they may irritate your stomach when taken first thing in the morning. The oesophagus lining of your stomach gets enlarged when there is no food to digest and taking these fruits can directly enlarge them even more, causing more friction to your stomach.
  3. Short Crust/Puff Pastry: Pastries can be a good combination for breakfast but it is a strict no on an empty stomach. Pastries and crusts have yeast in them and they simply will not go well for an empty stomach.
  4. Carbonated Drinks: Carbonated drinks are basically bad for health and imagine having them on an early morning. Nothing can be more troublesome for your stomach than having these carbonated drinks first thing in the morning. They up the risk of cancer and heart diseases and can also lead to many other complications. Strictly avoid them on an empty stomach.
  5. Coffee or Tea: Is having coffee the first thing that you do in the morning? You may be unaware but you are actually causing a lot of harm to your body. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach can increase the levels of hydrochloric acid and can lead to constipation vomiting. They also slow the digestion process. Try having a glass of water on an empty stomach; give it some time to settle and then intake caffeine. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

Its been long you are having depression related medications. I hope you often consult your doctor. It is essential to remember that when its about mental issues, pharmacotherapy + counseling goes hand in hand. If you are already done using your medications for a prolonged time, I hope you must have undergone counseling too. If not it is time you start your therapy sessions under nearest and a good counselor. You said you are taking treatment that keeps you quiet at office which may be the reason why you are not talking. There may be many underlying issues that may ahve affected your personality due to this prolong illness. According to me counseling is the best solution to your problems.

How to increase weight and stay healthy If you are attempting to increase your weight, it is important to remember that simply eating anything at all will not help. Incorrect eating habits might not only affect your body functioning, but could also have other undesired effects on you. This is why it is important to eat correctly, while keeping track of your daily activities. Listed below are some simple and effective tips to gain weight. Put together a schedule Like most other things, it is essential to put together a detailed and achievable schedule that will help you gain the numbers you want. I am 39 years old. I had rheumatoid arthritis 2 years ago. With prompt medication and proper exercises it subsided. But I have put on weight rapidly with b12, injections in just 2 months. I have put on 12 kgs in 2 months. And am not able to shed off that exrra weight. My periods are regular. I am putting on lot of weight. If I exercise I dont gain weight but at the same time am not losing weight. I have also noticed I am getting acne now at this age. What should I do?

I dont think that with vit. B12 injection, your weight is increased and that too at so alarming levels. I think your body is swelling due to water retention. Are you feeling any swelling in yr body. If yes then please go through following blood tests cbc, esr, crp, rft, ra factor, urine routine

We all are aware of the fact that our height increases up to a particular age and then it comes to a halt. Height increases up to the age of 18years in women and up to the age of 20 years in men. Increase in height is attributed to the production of growth hormone, called the HGH( Human Growth Hormone), which is secreted by the pituitary gland called the master gland of our body. It is rather difficult to increase height after reaching adulthood as the production of these hormones slowly stops. In most cases, the epiphyses of the long bones are fused as the last bits of cartilaginous tissue in the bones turn into solid hard bones. This prevents any further growth in longer bones. However, if the hormones are released naturally, increase in height can be observed. Dear doctor. My age is 46 years old. Last year july 2014, I joined in fitness gym. After six months I got pain on my shoulders and chest, so I stopped do to the excerise in the gym and taken appointment with Dr. he told that I got aroung 190 bp. And then I had taken the medicine for more than six months now it bp was reduced around 140 to 150. So I again can do the excerise or not. Every day i unable to awake in the early morning at that my body will be full of strain eg (i fell like a old aged man) and also in night times if I close my eyes also I cannot able to sleep. Hello , pls don't be worried, all will be set to good. 1. At the age of 48, I would suggest you to do a healthy exercise like walking, and surya namaskar, pranayama. 2. Drink more water in a day so that your feel active. 3. Add more vegetables and fruits into your diet. This gives required vitamins and minerals to your body. 4. Sleep on a floor so all your parts will be so relaxed and you feel relaxed early in the morning. 5. Read books at least a 30 mins a day. Regular readers sleep better, have lower stress levels, higher self esteem and lower rates of depression. 6. At this age, you need more proteins, vitamins and minerals and good omega-3 source to your body, which is not possible to full fill from your diet. I suggest you go with best natural food supplements. 7. Avoid certain known foods which cause acidity like, coffee, tea, colas, and citrus fruits, oily and spicy food. If your weight is high – losing a few kilos will reduce acidity too. Keep a gap of 2 hours between exercise and meals. Drink at least 3 litres of water every day. Try meditation and yoga to minimise daily stress.

You require anxiety management treatment where you could get answers to your questions. To overcome this situation a holistic approach is required where you can get the answers to your questions and be confident about your self. You can do so by privately consulting me. Till then- 1. Focus on the spot between eyebrows while breathing in and out. For breathing - Inhale with count of 4-Hold for 2 seconds-Exhale with count of 8. Do this exercise for at least 20 mins a day. Sir I always drink milk at night, I drink at least 3-4 litre of water. But still I have dark circles, my face looks very dull. I get very tired when I go out. You can go for following remedy it will help you 1. Peel and slice ½ cucumber 2. Peel and chop 1 potato 3. Crush them together to make paste 4. Press this paste on a sieve 5. Extract the juice 6. Chill the juice 7. Dip cotton pads in the juice 8. Place them on your eyelids making sure they cover the entire dark spots 9. Leave for 15-20 min 10. Wash gently Causes: • Ageing results in dryness of skin which leads to dark circles • Mental or physical stress • Lack of sleep • An unhealthy diet This is very helpful.

Appears to me as viral or bacterial pharyngitis instead swine flu but still take precautions such as frequent hand wash and consultation with ent doctor.
