I am 22 years old. I shifted to Mumbai in 2015 June . Until December 2015 there wasn't a hair fall issue but I was using coconut oil and my hair started falling more than thenusual and after jan 2016 my hair started falling a lot. I had severe dandruff too. I used amla reetha shikakai paste once a week. My hair fall lessened a little . Now again I am facing the same issue and using patanjali dandruff shampoo to cure my dandruff. But I have a itchy scalp. My hair has already become very thin. I can see my scalp . I have less hair in my crown area and in the front. I haven't consulted any doctor yet. For 2 3 weeks I was on no-poo method . I was using amla reetha shikakai water to wash my hair but since I got dandruff I started using patanjali shampoo.

Dandruff is an itchy, annoying and persistent disorder of scalp, causes social or self esteem problems. In today’s stressful world, it is becoming an increasingly common ailment. It is due to excessive shedding of dead skin cell of the scalp. The real culprit is a fungus called malassezia which lives on scalp on most of the healthy adults without causing problems. But some time it grows out of control , feeding on the oil secreted by the hair follicles causing irritation that leads to increased cell turnover, resulting in a large number of dead cells in the form of flakes. Treatment – The main treatment for dandruff consist of a through cleaning of scalp with shampoo. People with short hairs should shampoo daily while those with long hairs should shampoo the hairs as frequently as possible. Application of oil on the hairs should be prohibited. Let the hair dry naturally instead of blow drying. Homeopathic remedy prescribed after taking the complete history of the case provides permanent cure.

Dear lybrate-user. Do not panic. Rinse your hair with mild shampoo and only dilute the shampoo with water before you use. Apply mixture of Almond oil/Coconut Oil with evion capsules extract on your scalp and on your hair. Keep your mind free from stress as this could aggravate the issue. Please write to me with your eating pattern and I shall further guide you with my prescribed balanced diet for hair and over all body and mind.

Facial Hair: Laser Surgery for Removal

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MBBS
Dermatologist, Chennai
Facial Hair: Laser Surgery for Removal

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair removal method that makes use of laser beams to reach the hair follicles before the light from the beam is absorbed by the same. This method is preferred by people who do not want to go in for traditional methods like waxing, tweezing and epilating as these require regular sessions and may not always be convenient.

Laser surgery for facial hair removal helps your skin look younger and healthier by treating aging, acne, and blotches, scars, wrinkles, lines or excess hair on the face.

This surgery comes with its own share of benefits, which are:

  • First of all, laser hair removal is precise. The laser only targets the pigmented area of the skin on your face, such as the hair follicle. This is why only the hair follicle is burned and not the skin surrounding the area, making it a safe procedure.
  • Laser hair removal removes unwanted hair from your face at the speed of light. The laser is designed to treat several hairs in a large surface area, all at the same time. There is no downtime after the service and no sticky residue left behind.
  • The pain factor varies from person to person because every person has a different level of pain tolerance. Laser surgery is described as feeling like a gentle pinch or like the snap of a warm rubber band.
  • Laser hair removal is most effective on the hairs in the early part of the hair growing stage. A concentrated beam of light is aimed at the hair follicle. The laser then converts its energy into heat and heats up the hair follicle preventing it from growing any further.
  • Laser hair removal has many benefits that make it a viable option for many people to permanently deal with unwanted hair. You can ask many questions during your consultation to make sure you fully understand the procedure they use and how they deal with the treatment of pain.

Hello, Open pores can be the result of lack of proper cleansing resulting in the deposit of oil, dirt or even dead skin in your pores. It is extremely important that you follow the ritual of a face clean at least once a week which includes a massage with a cream, exfoliation for the removal of dead skin cells and a face pack to close the pores opened while the process of exfoliation. This basic routine makes sure that your skin is always prepped up, cleansed and clear of impurities. - Lemons are one of the most widely used herbal remedy to shrink the open pores as they naturally tighten the skin and brighten it too. -Fruits like Papaya are best known for their exfoliation properties. Using a papaya for cleaning the face not only scrubs away all the impurities but also helps in removing black heads and other impurities of the skin. -Egg whites work as natural dryers of the skin and thus they greatly help in shrinking the pores and helping with the problem of open pores. -Another way of dealing with the problem of open pores is yoghurt. -Fuller’s earth is an excellent medium to control excessive oil and cleansing the skin gently and deeply. -Natural Astringent: there are several other natural astringents which can be used on the skin for the treatment of open pores like peach, pineapple, orange, strawberries and other citrus fruits. Apart from these, you can also use rose water and aloe vera gel for open pores.

I have severe hair fall & skin problem. I think its due to water pollution. Tell me the reasons.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I have severe hair fall & skin problem. I think its due to water pollution. Tell me the reasons.
The exact cause of hair loss may not be fully understood, but it's usually related to one or more of the following factors: • Family history (heredity) • Hormonal changes • Medical conditions • Medication . Excessive Masturbation So if you can tell me the exact cause of your problem,it will help me in treating you more effeciently You may have heard how drinking lots of water can help keep your skin hydrated and looking younger. Hair is actually a connective tissue of the body and carries many of the same compositions as your skin, fingernails and toenails. When you don't get enough water into your system, the result is dehydration, and for many, hair loss as well. As a matter of fact, 75% of the population is dehydrated and not even aware of it Not all water is the same! The best kind of water to drink is natural spring water. It's natural and wholesome . For those of you that drink bottled water, natural spring water should be your first choice as it provides the best hydration for your hair and body. Another good choice is steam distilled water. One that should be avoided is purified water. Because purified water (reverse osmosis water) does not hydrate your hair and body well at all. Distilled water should not be consumed for more than just a few months because it does not have the minerals that natural spring water has and will eventually start to leach these minerals from your body.If you prefer to drink tap water, it should be carbon filtered. It is important to drink enough water. The average adult should be drinking at least three quarts of water every day and even more when it is hot outside or if you are physically active.

Believe me, if you are happy from inside and taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises, it will be automatically reflected on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face!! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, neck and hands. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin.
