Hello, thank you for posting on lybrate. Complexion or skin color of any person is has two components; constitutive, one which is predetermined by genetics and racial factors and usually cannot be changed with any treatment. The other component is due to external agents like environmental exposure, sunlight, use of any cosmetics etc and is amenable to treatment. You can get a series of chemical peels from a dermatologist in your city. Chemical peels are very effective treatment for skin lightening as they actually remove the upper dead layers of skin and stimulate regeneration of collagen and thus newer layers of skin. Many options are available in chemical peels depending on the requirement and skin type. (glycolic peel, retinol peel, cocktail peel etc) also, chemical peeling can be preceded by a simple procedure called microderamabrasion or commonly known as skin polishing to augment the results. Also, at home you can try using cream containing kojic acid, tetrahydrocurcumin, arbutin etc for several months (melaglow cream) for additional benefit and maintenance. Always use broad spectrum sunscreen before going out in sun.(la shield suncreen) use a plain moisturiser like cetaphil dam on daily basis for healthy and hydrated skin. Take plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Hope this will take care of your issue.

I was checking tips related to teeth on Lybrate and floss is recommended at a lot of places. Few of these questions popped up in my mind : 1. I am curious why it is not common in India? 2. I watched few videos on youtube to learn the proper way to floss. After watching the videos I felt like it will be loosen the gums as one is putting the pressure on them also. Second I felt like it will start thinning the enamel also from the teeth. I am worried unnecessarily or care should be taken while flossing?

Remember flossing is to be used only for cleaning the between the teeth areas and is used to prevent the deposition of food particles which can lead to infection and has to be used cautiously and even in india though slow the trend is picking up and remember if you have already loose teeth than not to be done and it won't thin the enamel lining.

It is a normal behaviour observed in a few children. There is nothing to feel embarass about. You need to ignore it. Distract the child and try to engage him in some other activity and habit will die out. Stopping him will only reinforce his habit.

Hi.In males more than 7o% of hair fall is due to genetic causing androgenic alopecia aerata and rest is due to hormonal imbalance like hypothyroidism,nutritional deficiency,fungal infection, dandruff etc. Take nutrition goods for hair like amla juice,dates,eggs,fish,nuts etc. Home remedies like onion juice ,egg white,aloevera gel application over scalp . Allopathy medicines like minoxidil hair oil(one can see the result after more than 3 months of regular application). Tablet follihair for a month. If dandruff try nizral shampoo twice weekly.

Say no to chemical treatment of hair. Chemical treatments like relaxers do make curly hair look longer, though they drastically slow down the growth of men’s hair.

Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

In slightly more medical terms, sexual disorder is known as sexual dysfunction. Sexual disorders are health conditions that could surface in both males and females. This not only acts as a hurdle in the path of an alternative understanding of sexuality but also deters spontaneous reporting of sexual problems. Patients largely feel the need to redress such problems; the fear of being ridiculed or being mocked deters them continually. Another way of approaching the problem and its subsequent treatment is to identify the factors leading to its development. Sexual disorders can be categorized as follows

  1. Desire disorders: It often happens that a male or a female repeatedly feels laidback about indulging in sexual activity. The problem could be persistent in general or it could be directed towards a single partner. You may or may not develop this condition all of a sudden. Low levels of estrogen in females and low levels of testosterone in males are known to lead to such sexual irregularities.
  2. Sexual arousal disorders: Females at an older age or after childbirth often suffer from a sexual arousal disorder. The condition could also be found in young adults. It is characterized by a dry vagina and the lack of pleasure during foreplay or intercourse. Amid males this problem is prevalently known as erectile dysfunction. A man might not be able to enjoy physical contact with his partner. Men usually face difficulties in having a proper erection. The male organ in such a case is only partly erected.
  3. Sexual orgasm disorders: If you are on certain medications or have been experiencing frequent bouts of anxiety, attaining climax can be a headache. Patients of this disorder either fail to have an orgasm or it is extremely delayed.
  4. Sexual pain disorders: Pain disorders are more common in women. In most cases, painful intercourse is the result of lack of arousal. If the vagina is not sufficiently lubricated, a woman might experience severe pain. Pain can also be the symptom of a serious underlying disease like vaginismus. Dental pain n infections need definitive treatment n intervention by dentist. Medicines alone can't treat majority of dental infections. Visit your dentist at earliest n get your teeth evaluated to locate the cause of your problem n get treated accordingly. Avoid self medications. Many dental infections subside only after simultaneous intervention by dentist while your on medications.

Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. Neither can you stop the overproduction of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you wherever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifoium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition due to to tuberculosis. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight and take in good nutrients. Eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals.Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits like banana, pomegranate. Be mindful of excess sugar and fat. If sweets are taken, they should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and peanut chikki are good choices. A supplement might be needed, but remember supplements will effect only if diet is better. So, start with improving your diet.

Hai lybrate-user it may be due to hormonal change or some times due to some allergic reaction towards ornaments. You can apply lemon juice mix with sugar or ripe banana paste with sugar. If you have any menstural problems or facial hair etc you might have hormonal disorder. Pls check it out. Thank you.
