I am a college student and want to go to the gym ,as prescribed by trainers I should take much protein to get my tissues repaired sooner but it is not possible to take that amount of protein a day from natural food. So should I take artificial protein supplements such as that of optimum nutrition or dymatize? I want to ask if they have harmful effects to our body or not? And some food from which I can take 110-120 grams of protein daily?

I have irregular periods from the very beginning of my menses. Now i’m 24 and the çase has remain altered except 4 years back when I was on medication prescribed by a gyne for the same. The reports showed hormonal disturbance but I was not comfortable with taking pills everyday so I discontinued it. Please suggest me other possible way.

Whoever said that is quite wrong. Medicine and therapy in combination are ideal for a cure for depression. In her depressed state she may be frustrated with her weight gain and low moods and is probably looking for some excitement even if it is to irritate you. You need not take it too personally but her depression is serious and needs immediate attention. To handle her weight gain she will need to get on a weight-loss program along with medication and counseling.

Egg whites are good for health and contain good quality of protein. There is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

Hello lybrate-user acne & pimplrs are some times common with the age. I am giving you some tips, follow it. this will also help in itching * eat turmeric 1 tsp before meal * eat ajvayan 1 tsp & jeera 1 tsp after each meal * avoid sour salty spice food * avoid curd, but take butter milk * use only cow milk & ghee * avoid stress, late sleep, day sleep, oily food, cold water * for local application you can use triphala, yastimadhu, lodhra, nimb powder mix with buttermilk for better suggestions & medicine, I need detait history like appetite, bowel habits, diet, lifestyle, acidity or gastric trouble? etc.

Hi, - Frozen shoulder is common affect to diabetic patients. - prolong spondylitis case may cause pinched nerve at neck region, that pain will radiate to shoulder, arms till finger tips of hand. My advice: -Full range of motion exercises at least twice/day (Neck & Shoulder) -Strong Neck isometric exercises at least Twice/day (Pain free) -Strengthening Exercise for Shoulder/Shoulder griddle muscles -PNF exercises -Scapular movements/ Shoulder griddle movements -Stretching exercises at least twice/day -Towel exercises -Free ROM exercises of Shoulder Precautions -Maintain good posture/avoid Bad posture -Avoid jerky movements -Avoid keeping you r neck straight and stiff -Use soft collar/cervical pillow -Do not sleep over affected side -If you are working long hours you must relax the muscles of you r neck and shoulders by taking frequent breaks. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one cup of water. If you use freshly ground black pepper, then just add one-quarter teaspoon. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. Do this daily for at least three months.

To make a skin-lightening mask, combine one teaspoon each of honey and lemon juice, one tablespoon of powdered milk, and one-half teaspoon of almond oil. Mix them well and apply it gently on the skin. Leave it on for 10 to15 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Do this every other day.

My cousin sister is suffering from headache from many months and also neck problem we asked many doctors they said that there might be a gap between bones of neck but they and not sure how to cure this pain? Will you suggest something so that it might get cured?

Hi lybrate-user, you may not need to run but shld anyways go for small walks for 20-30 minutes at a comfortable pace to stay fit. Along with that avoid junk food like pani puri bhel puri samosas bhajiyas fried foods sweets oily or deep fried foods chips colas etc. Reduce your portion size while eating and infact eat every 3 hours so that your metabolism is high. This is how you can prevent fat accumulation in the body. All the best.

DEAR LYBRATE USER...A) apply paste of fresh lemon juice and fine powder of turmeric on black spots with gentle massage,two times in a day...B) take 30 ml of triphala juice and 10 ml of honey early in the morning and at night before sleep….C) take 2-2 tablets of chandraprabha vati and sutshekhar rasa after meals...D) take 2 tablet of vasantkusumakar rasa early in the morning on empty stomach with triphala juice…...Do all these things for 15 days gives you good result..consult to me for further suggestions..THANKS

Hello lybrate-user. You did not mention how many months pregnant your wife is. Though white vaginal discharge during pregnancy is a common thing. N weakness itself is a normal symptom of pregnancy. Get her hB done n tell you can give her protein powder regularly. Natural protein sources like soaked almonds, pulses and soya products will be helpful. But keep check on the regular bp level also. To know the type of fever, there is only one way. Undergo a blood test. CBC and malarial parasite test. Based on the reports, we can assess your condition. Yes viral fever can spread to other people if you are in close contact, use the same linen/clothes or utensils. So avoid that.
