I am 35 yrs. I recently Quit Smoking It is been 60 days. Since the day I Quit I had a sore mouth. Which I thought are withdrawn symptoms. But few days back I started developing a irritation and had problem in consuming spicy food. I discovered my mouth has declared area where irritation was happening (reddish/oranges. Are these symptoms of Mouth Cancer.

Dear User, If you have quit smoking and not using any other form of tobacco then I could say that withdrawal of nicotine may include anxiety, tremors, restlessness, craving for tobacco/smoking, constipation, cough, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, impulsivity, fatigue, flu symptoms, mood swings, mouth ulcers, and increased dreaming. Cessation of nicotine usually increases eating and weight, decreases memory, decreases the ability to pay attention and concentrate on tasks, and decreased heart rate. Now among this symptoms, the thing which needs attention is mouth ulcer. You need to get it examined if it is an ulcer or not, and if ulcer is not healing then you may need further investigation. Apart from that none symptom might be due to nicotine. In that case your health professional needs to find other cause. So My suggestion is that you should see ENT surgeon first. And follow his/her advice.

Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein.Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal.Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water.Drink not consume alcohol drinks.Don’t smoke.Check your mouth regularly for any unusual sores and lesions.Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and have regular thorough dental check-ups where your dentist will look at the health of both your teeth and your mouth Most importantly, do not delay seeking immediate advice from a dentist or medical professional if you notice any unusual symptoms or sores on your lips or in your mouth.

Brutish is a grinding habit and happens when a patient is under some sort of emotional disturbance. Only way to break the habit is to get a night guard made which is to be worn while sleeping. This way your teeth would be protected from attrition and sensitivity which may occur in future with regular grinding of teeth.

My sister used to brush every day and night. She had a cavity and it was treated. But she found her mouth smells bad though drinking more water. What should do to get rid of bad breath?

Infections in the mouth, such as dental caries (tooth decay), periodontal (gum) disease or mouth sores related to other conditions may contribute to bad breath. Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. Dry mouth also can cause bad breath. Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products also can cause bad breath, You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then.

Don't rush, when you brush. For maximum results, brush your teeth for at least 2 to 3 minutes.

Munching foods like apples, and pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

You might be a mouth breather, the simple answer is take frequent sips of water for preventing dry mouth. If you are really upset with this, please consult an ent surgeon and a dentist for knowing the cause of obstruction of nasal passage and get it rectified, may be this is because of deviated nasal septum.
