Will contraceptive pills affect the menstruation cycle and to conceive me in future?

M.B.B.S, Post Graduate Diploma In Maternal & Child Health

It is meant to regularise the cycle. It has to be stopped for some time before you try for conception. Which pills you are using is very important. Give me the full information for an apt reply.

She is telling she have stomach cramps. And she is nt hvng her monthly periods. What is the reason behind this. Anybody suggest me.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Stomach cramps are the sign that menses are going to come soon. If the pain is too much she should take meftal spas 2-3 times a day to be relieved of pain. This kind of pain is very common among girls and usually does not need any kind of investigation.

My period got delayed by week so my doctor gave me duphaston for 5 days morning and evening. My period started on day one (17th. Its 25th today and I still have light bleeding. I usually have only 3 heavy days. This is 8 days and it's not gone. Is it because of the medicine?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Indore
Its not bcoz of the meds but by the harmonal imbalance. That also caused delayed cycle. Watch on the 10 th day go back to your docter if bleeding continus.

Hi, i want to know which type of foods i ahve to eat during pregnancy - 9th month?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
Hi. A healthy balanced diet rich in proteins and calcium is required during this time. I usually advise my patients to have a big glass of milk daily, along with 5-6 almonds, walnuts and lots of fruits and veggies to keep constipation at bay. Have plenty of chicken, eggs and dals. Hope this information helped you.

My wife is pregnant of 5 week but 2 days ago she suffered through bleeding & discharge of big clouts. Post sonography pregnancy is of 5 week, size of 1.4 mm but no cardiac activities are found. Doctor advised complete one week bed rest and take Duphaston medicine for 15 days. Doctor asked us to visit if bleeding starts again otherwise visit after two week. Thereafter doctor will advise what to do on report of ultrasound in 7 weeks. So pl. Suggest what may be the possibilities and whether should we continue pregnancy if it is ok or abort?

MBBS, DGO, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MRCOG
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Dear Jagdish, any kind of bleeding in pregnancy is not a happy situation. We wait for heart beat in a fetus till it is 6mm or more or pregnancy is more than 6 weeks. Till that time please follow what your doctor has advised and then go for another scan and then take decision.

There are plenty of reasons to have continuous bleeding. If it continues for further 5 days then consult a gynecologist or a homeopathic doctor who ever is near to you.
