Dear, planophobia is a common disorder and many people overcome it with flying experience. You need desensitization therapy. I think two or more health related counseling should clear your problem. Please let me know if you are willing for telephonic counseling. Take care.

I smoke regularly. I have noticed nicotine marks being formed on my teeth. How to remove them easily?

I smoke regularly. I have noticed nicotine marks being formed on my teeth. How to remove them easily?
The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Dear lybrate-user. I can understand. PANIC ATTACK a sudden overwhelming feeling of acute and disabling anxiety. Panic disorder is different from the normal fear and anxiety reactions to stressful events. Panic disorder is a serious condition that strikes without reason or warning. Symptoms of panic disorder include sudden attacks of fear and nervousness, as well as physical symptoms such as sweating and a racing heart. Panic attack always happens due to an underlying anxiety disorder. So you need to treat anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorder is treated with the help of counseling and psychotherapy. You should consult a psychologist. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user, first and foremost you need to drop stress- get active exercise daily for 1 hour brisk walk, gymming, cardio anything of your choice. Eat more fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables and lots of dry fruits almonds and walnut specially. Write down your negative thoughts and in return write 3 positive points countering that negative thought you need to build up on your confidence and assertive skills. Consult a psychologist for sessions to be right back on track. All the best.

4 Simple Ways You Can Overcome Frustration!

4 Simple Ways You Can Overcome Frustration!

In some cases frustration tends to be positive and gives one a new perspective or view on things. It can also provide the ability to continue going further until you achieve your objective. However, there are times when you are going in circles and the dissatisfaction makes you frustrated and this frustration can cloud your mind and judgment. To avoid that from happening, there are certain approaches that will help you overcome your frustration:

  1. Be present in the moment: When you are frustrated, you tend to think about a lot of things. This keeps the individual completely occupied with different kinds of thoughts. Even if you try to avoid it or distract yourself, you again start to remember a disappointment from your past. You need to snap out of those thoughts and calm yourself down by centering your brain and thoughts on what is presently going on around you. You can do so in the following ways.
  2. Concentrate on relaxing: Take a seat, close your eyes and simply concentrate on the live events and concentrate on them for one to two minutes. Take quiet and marginally deeper breaths than regular and inhale with your stomach and not the chest. Concentrate on what is around you as of now. The sun sparkling in through your window, the children playing out on the road, the vehicles or the individuals passing by. Take in the details.
  3. Try to be happy with what you have right now: After you have pulled your concentration and thoughts back to where they can be most useful, focus on what is still positive in your life. The easiest and least demanding approach to do so is to centre it on acknowledging what you do have in your life right now. The most unimportant of things at this point can prove to be the most beneficial. For example:
    • A warm home and a rooftop over your head.
    • Water to drink.
    • Getting to eat great food.
    • Access to the internet and other forms of technology that make life easy.
    • Your loved ones.
  4. Focus on what you can do at this moment: With the amount of frustration and anger you might be feeling, it is important for you to concentrate on what you can do at the moment i.e. at present. It might involve figuring out what has been the cause for your frustration and how it can be dealt with right now or what the alternatives for it are.

Then again, you could also take your time to understand that you may have taken a lot of pressure or things have been extreme. Hence, you have to take some time or a couple of days to simply unwind, deal with yourself and maybe calm down a bit. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a psychologist.

Dear Sir, I am doing chartered accountants course in Chennai. I am not yet completed my inter label, due to my family problem and my age is now 26. Now my family is fine & my elder brother giving money for my study. But when I am reading, to my mind past problem of my & my family coming. I am feeling emotional & why not yet completed my inter label making me and my mind weak and again my hostel siner boys talling me, why are you not going for a job. But I want to study. Please help me how to forget all & concentrate on my study as my exam is starting in may 3rd 2015. Thank you.

I think that your hostel friends are giving you good advice. If you are not able to concentrate and you keep thinking of the past and the family situation, then it is better for you to work somewhere. At work you will be compelled to concentrate on the job. Sometimes it is better to take a break from your studies due to the distractions you experience. You can still do your inter, by studying in the evening. You may also go for tutorials, which will aid you in studying. This will entail some costs for which you need to work. Do not waste your brother?s hard-earned money, if you are not doing justice to it. There are a lot of youngsters who work and study. I think you need help in your studies, if not from tutorials, ask some of your friends to help. You may have a mind block that is hampering concentration.
