Day one is the first day of the menstrual period and the last day is the day before the next period begins. Ovulation happens about two weeks before the next expected period. So if your average menstrual cycle is 28 days, you ovulate around day 14. The day 14th of your ovulatory cycle is the day of ovulation and plus minus 2-3 days can be takes for you 33 days of last cycle.

Most women after giving birth do not ovulate, and do not have menstrual periods in the months immediately after delivery [medspeak for the lack of periods: physiological amenorrhea]. This happens because the hormonal processes involved in breast milk production also affect the ovarian and the uterine (menstrual) cycles.

5 Ways To Fight Your Sugar Addiction!

5 Ways To Fight Your Sugar Addiction!

Scientists have concluded that sugar stimulates the exact same centers of the brain, which derive pleasure out of heroin or cocaine. For those who are addicted to sugar, getting off it leads to intense cravings and withdrawal symptoms. If you have an uncontrollable urge to devour something sweet, you probably have sugar addiction too. Sugar is known to release dopamine and opioids, which not only makes it addictive, but makes it extremely difficult for you to overcome the withdrawal symptoms.

Mentioned below are 5 signs to figure out if you are addicted to sugar:

  1. Despite being full or not hungry, you consume certain foods due to cravings
  2. You worry about consuming certain foods and cutting down on them
  3. You overeat and then feel fatigued or sluggish
  4. Despite negative consequences that affect your health and cause social problems, you continue eating or overeating certain foods
  5. You try to eliminate any negative emotion by consuming the foods you crave and experience pleasure.

If you suffer from the aforementioned problems, you should seriously consider sugar detox or food rehab. Sugar and foods containing high levels of sugar causes behavioral changes, nutrient deficiency or imbalance, impairs your body and immunity system leading to an increased risk of illnesses and diseases. Sugar is also known to feed cancer cells and obesity. Fungi, which are living organisms, thrive on sugar and feed on it to reproduce and function properly leading to most infections. However, it is never too late to break your sugar habit.

Mentioned below are 5 ways to fight your sugar addiction:

  1. Substitute sweets with whole foods
  2. Ditch artificial sweeteners
  3. Clean your house
  4. Create a backup plan
  5. Manage your magnesium levels

Although, sugar withdrawal symptoms vary from individual to individual, they usually last for about 3 to 4 weeks. Withdrawing from sugar can be extremely difficult and causes the following symptoms in you, which will sorely tempt you into giving in to your cravings:

  1. Feeling lightheaded
  2. Craving for sugar
  3. Binge eating
  4. Anxiety
  5. Depression
  6. Headaches
  7. Irritability and moodiness
  8. Fatigue and tiredness
  9. Muscular aches
  10. Flu symptoms. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Psychologist.

Health Benefits Of Blackberry!

Health Benefits Of Blackberry!

One of my favorite things to find is the intersection between delicious food and incredible health benefits. Nothing truer could be said about the health benefits of blackberries.

Benefits Of Blackberry Fruit For Skin:

Our skin plays a vital role in our outer appearance. Most of us fail to realise that our skin eventually reflects what we eat. A good daily supply of vital nutrients is required for a glowing and perfect skin. Blackberries are rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin C. They also offer the highest levels of some antioxidants – higher than blueberries and strawberries too. The very dark color of the fruit is proof of its high antioxidant level. As a result, it is beneficial for the skin.

1. Fights Free Radicals:

Anthocyanocides and polyphenols are two antioxidants found in abundance in blackberries. These help in fighting free radicals .

The collagen-forming Vitamin C and Vitamin A make it only more appropriate for skin. These vitamins also act as antioxidants. The regular consumption of blackberries protects the skin against the damaging UVA and UVB rays and aids in skin cell renewal.

2. Hydrates Skin:

Blackberries are comprised of more than 85% water with an abundant dose of fiber. Both of these are essential for a healthy-looking skin. The consumption of blackberries detoxifies the body and maintains the elasticity of the skin .

A good way to enjoy the goodness of blackberries for your skin is through a face mask. Here’s how:

  • Take a bunch of blackberries.
  • Crush and mix the juice with a teaspoon of honey.
  • Apply this to your face and neck.
  • Let it dry well before washing it off thoroughly.

If I do sex without condom with my partner and ejaculate inside then what would be the probability of getting her pregnant, if both of us are fully functional. Is there any time period during the menstrual cycle, during which we can do sex without any protection and still avoid pregnancy without any pills? And also what is good time for sexual intercourse to create a ZYGOTE. Please take menstruation as reference point for both questions.

1-if ejaculation inside and if period around ovulation day of female then yes chance of pregnancy. 2-avoiding pregnancy by avoiding only certain days of period method is called safe period method which is unsafe meaning high failure rate. Ovulation happens 14 days prior to next expected period means in woman with regular 28 days cycle happens 14 days after menstrual period. 3- ovulation day mentioned above is good time for zygote.

Question is for Gynecologist Doc I'll be getting married in Dec an I want to conceive soon with a month or two, what should I do.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
Question is for Gynecologist Doc I'll be getting married in Dec an I want to conceive soon with a month or two, what ...
The pregnancy happens when sperms meet ovum in the fallopian tube of the female. While sperms are always deposited at every acy of coitus, the release of the ovum is a event that has no sign. Most women cannot find out when they have ovulation. Also that the ovum when released from ovary has a life span of just 24-48 hours. So any body not having sex in this ovulation period will not conceive. The best day to predict ovulation is found by the following formula. If your partner has regular periods, then she will be able to predict her menses date based on her know how. Find the expected of menses (edm) now count 14 days before it. This day is the date of the most possible ovulation. As a matter of safety consider 3 days on either side of this date, and thus you will get 6 days in each cycle where the possibility of ovulation and hence pregnancy is highest. Most women may not have regular cycles and in such the above mentioned formula may fail. Say for a girl whose menses is regular and expected on 28th april, the day of probable ovulation would be 15th april and considering 3 days on either side, the fertile period would be 12-18th april also in a woman having 12 regular periods in a year, the ovulation may not occur each cycle, but it may happen few times a year. So this is just a probability if a couple having regular sexual activity doesnot conceive in a year of their efforts, they must get treated by a gynecologist.
