Hello- you have noticed a nice correlation between diet and back pain. >according to ayurveda intake of heavy meals block the passage of vayu (internal metabolite acting as wind) generated due to intestinal peristalsis. Due to this the vayu pressurize the stomach>>it further apply pressure on the back side towards vertebrae causing back pain. >try these tips to get rid of your pain- 1. Take 1 tsp carrom seeds with asfoitida before meals. 2. Decrease the intake of water during meals. 3. Avoid over eating. 4. Take 1 tsp harad powder with warm water at bed time.

Hello, it's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems are directly related to overweight! go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: management: 1: drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: enjoy your favorite foods. 4: have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous). Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: don't skip meals. When you skip meals, your body stops breaking down fat and starts breaking down muscle tissue. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! medication: start taking schwabe's phytolacca berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 3 months. Hello During 2015 summers I started having boils. I had around 5 boils from june 2106 to dec. 2015. All of a sudden after few months since 4 days I had 2 boils again. Earlier I got the blood tests done but there was no problem in my reports. I am giving eltroxin 50 mg for thyroid since few years and dosent have a very great digestive system.

The cause of your boils is ineffective digestion. Take triphala powder 1- 1.5 tsp daily at bedtime for a month. All your boils will reduce. You can continue it if you find it beneficial.

Requires detailed investigation and examination Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, inform. Reduce weight.

Ayurveda Can Help You Beat Stress

Stress is a natural response to situations we have to face, but the fact remains that a similar situation may leave one individual a mess but another, untouched. What this implies is that how stressed you feel largely depends on the way you choose to respond to a stressful situation. With the right diet, breathing techniques and the use of adaptogenic herbs, it is possible to alter this response and cultivate a positive attitude that will help us face life's challenges with courage and strength, without losing our cool. Here are the other ill effects of stress.

Eat the right foods

According to ayurveda, food possesses three qualities or gunas

sattva, rajas and tamas. Sattvik food is light, fresh and nutritious,rajasik food is spicy and fans emotions, and tamasik foods are stale and promote the sense of inertia. Obviously, the consumption of a diet rich in rajasik and tamasik foods is bound to keep you in a state of mind that is most conducive to stress whereas a sattvik diet helps keep the mind calm.

Remedy
make sure you include foods such as pulses, fresh vegetables and fruits, milk and grains such as rice and tapioca. Avoid spicy chutneys and pickles, sour cream, chicken, fish, meat, cheese, onion, garlic and urad dal and you will find a noticeable change in your ability to cope with stressful situations. Here are some more expert tips to beat stress.

Use relaxing herbs

Certain herbs such as cardamom (elaichi), lettuce, celery, peppermint, chamomile and fennel (saunf) contain phytoconstituents that have wonderful relaxing properties. Make these a part of your diet in the form of herbal tea or by working them into the dishes you cook for some stress relief. Ayurveda recommends the use of adaptogenic herbs (that help the body and mind adapt better to stressful conditions) over time can also help you cultivate a calm mind that does not easily get swayed by extreme emotions. Herbs such as aswagandha, jatamansi, guduchi, brahmi, tulsi and shankhpushpi help restore the imbalance in your doshas that make up the body and mind. However, it is important you avoid self-medication with these herbs- have them only under the prescription of a registered ayurvedic practitioner who is well-versed with their use.

Have an oil massage 

An oil massage has a number of health benefits and one of them is stress relief. According to ayurveda, abhyanga the application of oil to the entire body at regular intervals is an easy way of relaxing not just the body, but also the mind. Use any oil- castor, sesame or coconut. heat it and rub it into your scalp and all over the body; allow the oil to remain for an hour or two and then bathe with hot water. You will actually feel the stress and strain wash out of your system. For even better relaxation, mix in a little powder of shankhpushpi or brahmi into the oil you use for the massage.

Cut down on unhealthy beverages

Most of us are addicted to some form of liquid stimulant that we believe makes us more alert and able to deal with the myriad things life brings our way. Caffeine and alcohol tends to increase feelings of anxiety and stress. Cut down on your intake of such beverages and you are sure to observe your stress levels becoming much more manageable. Apart from increasing your stress levels soft drinks also have a lot of unhealthy side effects, so giving up that one habit can do you a world of good.

Breathe right

In our constant rush to meet deadlines and do things on time, our breathing takes a backseat. A lack of proper deep breaths greatly reduces the amount of oxygen circulating through your body. This is a major reason for stress related damage to the body. To combat this, make it a point to breathe in slowly and deeply a few times every morning and night - feel your stomach and chest expand as you inhale, and fall as you exhale. Breathe in as you slowly count from 1 to 5, hold for five counts and then exhale while counting from 1 to 5. If possible, learn the techniques of pranayama from a qualified instructor and practice it every day. Whenever you feel yourself getting tense, practice this deep breathing a few times and you will find the feeling of crisis tide over almost effortlessly. I am suffering the pain in the Right side of above the hip joint and stiffness while walking about 5mts. On MRI is diagnosed as lumbar spondylosis. Minimal annular disc bulge at L2-L3, L3-L4 levels. You have to admit your brother into a rehabilitation program for at least 6 months to cure him of this addiction. If he has had mental problems too then he may require psychiatric care as well. Even after rehabilitation he must continue addiction counseling for at least three years to completely remove the physical and psychological conditioning and craving. He will be told and taught new lifestyles, schedules, habits etc. to totally recover. He must work on the oral issue, the rigid value system, the genetic factor and the script issue. Many people will not be able to resolve drug addiction in particular if they do not reach their ‘Hitting Rock Bottom’, i.e. the worst stage in their addiction to finally want to reform. Unfortunately for some unlucky few that can be death. So do be careful and do not delay seeking help now. If there are relapses, do not get too alarmed and give up. He must again persevere and fight this battle until he comes out victorious. The family members and medical fraternity must be there for him right through this recovery. He will also need to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings for a long time too after the treatment is over.

Market is flooded with several shampoos claiming to have extra protein. The notable point here is that while washing, protein in the shampoo doesn’t enter the hair or its roots. Shampoo’s main role is limited to cleaning the external surface of hair, that is, its cuticles. Hair do need protein but it comes from a good diet.

I am diabetic since 17 years and hyper tensive since 11 yrs, using GLIMULIN MF FORTE in the morning, JANUMET 50/1000 in the afternoon, GLIMULIN MF in the night. CONCOR AM 5 mg in the morning, TELMA 40 in the evening, GABAPIN NT 400 twice daily, ECOSPRIN AV 75 in the afternoon. But since last 3 months I have been facing episodes of severe gas trouble with bloating but no pain in the stomach. For this the doctor had suggested RIFAGUT 550 mg twice daily for 5 days, then after the recurrence in 1 month he again prescribed RIFAGUT 550 mg for another 5 days along with VSL-3 once daily for 10 days after lunch, again there was an episode after 15 days FLUDAC 10 mg capsule was asked to be taken at the night. Now I had taken it for 4 days and yet yesterday night the same problem reoccurred. I have observed that in all these episodes there is one thing common in my diet which is watermelon. I doubt that it's high fructose level is the culprit. After eating the gas trouble starts with in 3 hrs and the gas doesn't stop for another 3 hrs, during this I have to continuously force out the gas through mouth or else my stomach and chest keeps ballooning out and a false feeling of heart trouble is being felt by me due to which we had to undergo ECG which was normal. After browsing in the Internet I doubt that I am having fructose intolerance please suggest.

Watermelon is known to cause gas. Pl. Have it in the morning or noon when there is some physical activity. Also sprinkle some black pepper power& some roasted cumin seed powder so that it does not cause gas.
