Continuously reading small print without proper light should be avoided. Smart phone may cause strain. Don't expose your eyes to extreme sunny weather of cold windy weather. Don't be closer to people with eye infections as you may contact the infection. Get your eyes tested for any vision problem. Homoeopathy has effective treatment for your problem without adverse effects. Take belldonna 200 ---once daily in the morning for 5 days.

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 28 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Is there any treatment. For keratoconus. Other than cornea. Transplantation. Please advise.

FICO, Specialist in Cataract,Cornea and refractive surgeries , MD - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Srinagar
Is there any treatment. For keratoconus. Other than cornea. Transplantation. Please advise.
Corneal transplant is the last resort when every other things fails. Initial management, if your keratoconus is progressing will be collagen crosslinking. If it gets stable you will have to use rigid gas permeable contact lenses, in most cases. However is astigmatism is not much spectacles or soft contact lens may suffice. Intacs is a procedure which can be done along with collagen crosslinkingcrosslinking. If cornea becomes too much thin or if there occurs corneal opacity, not correctable by contact lens, then you may have to undergo corneal transplant.

I have a problem in my eyes when I play in very bright sunlight my eye become dark red how I will control it.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
I have a problem in my eyes when I play in very bright sunlight my eye become dark red how I will control it.
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care, regards.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye problem. Sunken eyes (eyes going inside) or deep set eyes have multiple reasons associated with them. Let me enumerate them in brief: (1) change in the peri-orbital fat distribution with time. (usually occurs with progressive age) (2) very thin people. (systemic disease, immune compromise, etc) (3) excessive rubbing of the eyes. (especially in childhood) (4) thyroid eye disease. (5) injury to the eyes. (6) hereditary/ genetic factors thus, it would be a good idea to get your eyes evaluated by a specialist in person. There are various remedies available depending upon the cause. A few of them are: (1) fillers (2) botox injections (3) other plastic surgery options you should consult an oculoplastic surgeon there. Take care.
