Genes do play a role in having a heart attack but aware people are able to reduce risk of getting one by taking care of other factors responsible for heat attacks like 1) stress 2) high cholesterol 3) smoking and exposure to pollution 4) no exercise schedule 5) sedentary lifestyle 6) diabetes with sugar not under control 7) higher levels of bad fats in bad and lower levels of good fats in blood 8) taking everything to heart. Now that you are aware of other factors which are responsible, I am sure taking care of these will reduce the risk of a heart attack despite genetics. Get blood tested for sugar, total lipid profile and get back here with reports. Do take care to reduce other factors like smoking & stress etc.

To increase digestion power you can follow these methods: • Take one teaspoon of ajwain seeds (carom) and 1/2 teaspoon of jeera grind it and make powder of it add 1/3 rd of teaspoon of this in your food you eat. • Take pudina (mint) and coriander leaves grind it and eat one teaspoon of it daily 2 times in a day. You can make chutney of it. Mint and corriander has enzymes that increase your digestion. • Eat one fruit before one hour of taking meal. Eat an apple daily. • Do running and jogging exercise daily. Do pavanmuktasan daily for 5 minutes under the supervision of yoga expert. • Eat healthy food and avoid fast food, spicy food, excessive consumption of tea, coffee and alcohol.

I suffer from severe migraine. What are the things that I should do to reduce the pain? Are there any food items I should not eat?

DM - Neurology, Fellowship in Stroke Neurology, MD - General Medicine, MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
Neurologist, Kolkata
Dear friend, I understand want to know life style measures to reduce migraine frequency, intensity and duration. Migraine patients should try to follow a routine based lifestyle which should include timely diet intake, sound sleep, regular aerobic exercise, using relaxation techniques and utilizing biofeedback mechanism. There are many migraine triggers. As you enquired about specific food items let me name them: Alcohol, chocolate, aged cheeses, caffeine, nuts etc. But besides these there are other food items which may precipitate headache and we have noticed they are person specific. However, please let me tell you instead of avoiding triggers, the latest technique is learning to cope with triggers (Research still in process. You may also plan to maintain a headache dairy: which will keep a record of frequency, duration and intensity of headache. If you unsatisfied, may need to start a prophylactic medication besides the required sos pain relievers and other non pharmacological measures as measured. Please remember migraine is not curable but it is definitely controllable! Hope I am able to answer your queries. Wish you all the best.

Hello dear Lybrate user, hi Warm welcome to Lybrate.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly. Here are some best working tips for your query. Do not opt for fake advertisements claiming capsules and tablets for penile strength, prolonging sex & making patients fool. Certain molecules which are having results are also not without side effects some of which are very serious as chest pain, heart rate disturbances or else ; so without consultation of urologist, not advisable to consume. Provide enough time in foreplay, after play. Consume plenty of liquids. Balanced nutritious diet intake with enough iron, vitamins, minerals, proteins.Regular walking in fresh air, exercises, relaxation techniques, YOGA help great in creating self confidence. Avoid stress, anxiety.Manage to have regular sound sleep of 8 hours. Cut off use of mobile, internet in bedroom. Discuss with the partner regarding her likes and dislikes with love. Keep your blood sugar, cholesterol levels, body weight under control. Avoid smoking, alcohol if consuming. Consider sex as an art rather than just act of finishing ejaculation. Plan sudden surprises as uninformed leave from job coming home, candle light dinner, surprise gift, outing, variations in sex acts which matters a lot. Consult later your urologist as per the requirement. Hope this clears your query. Wishing you best sex life ahead. Welcome for any further assistance. Regards take care.
