Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedures. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Hi if your teeth are still sensitive, and you are certain of the area involved, you need to see the dentist again. There might be decay between the teeth that is often difficult to detect and maybe overlooked, esp. When other more obvious lesions are present. A more detailed examination necessitated by persistent symptoms after such symptoms might well lead to the detection of such problems. You also have the option of a second opinion. Often, a different person might be able to look at your problem more objectively, and, maybe locate the issue. In the meantime, you can use any desensitizing toothpaste 2 to 3 times a day to help with the symptoms.

The cavities cannot be stopped or cured by any medicine or toothpaste. I would suggest you to consult a dentist at the earliest and get your cavities filled before it's too late. You can use a fluoride containing toothpaste to prevent caries but it is not a substitute for filling or restoration.

Temporary loose wires can be fixed by using a pencil or the back of a spoon to gently push them back in place. Wax or a wet cotton ball can also be used if the loose wire is causing a lot of discomfort.

My mom recently had her tooth extracted, about a week ago. However, she has been experiencing pain and sensitivity, while drinking or eating cold food/drinks. And also has lost her appetite. What can be done?

Dear please check whether the extraction wound is healed or not properly. If not consult your dentist, some times unhealed extraction socket causes pain. Also the pain is may be due to receded gums and exposed roots as a result of aging. In these conditions use of desensitizing tooth pastes like sensodent kf will help to get rid of pain and sensitivity.

If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted.
