During pregnancy the size of vagina is increase or not? And which conditions is responsible for seizure?

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
The size of the vagina does not increase in pregnancy. However it may become lax due to increased blood supply. Seizures or epilepsy in pregnancy can be of different types. Mostly no obvious pathology is found. Hence treatment is with antiepileptic drugs to control and prevent fits. Occasionally they can be due to tumor, infection etc;

I have to broken my seal of penis? Is it ok? My age is 26? Will that affect my sexual life in any way?

I have to broken my seal of penis? Is it ok? My age is 26? Will that affect my sexual life in any way?
Hello- Penis does not have any seal. Some people have wrong idea that, like vagina, there is'penis seal' which will open after marriage. This is wrong. Rather if you have such problem, probably you are suffering from a disease, called Phimosis. It should be treated after consulting doctor, otherwise there will be problems in intercourse, urination, infection and even cancer in the long run.

Mr. Lybrate-user, to effectively control diabetes first and foremost is to take appropriate drugs, as prescribed by the doctor with out missinga dose. Exercise regularly for 1 hour a day so as to maintain weight and improve insulin action, reduce resistance to its action. Plus take a restricted diet based on ideal body weight, blood sugar levels, and extent of daily exercise. Thses things together will help in controlling diabetes. All the best.

My eyes are getting deeper day by day, can my mobiles effects my eyes? What should I do?

FPRS, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Pune
My eyes are getting deeper day by day, can my mobiles effects my eyes? What should I do?
Here are the instructions for mobile phone use: 1. Blink, blink and blink again. Blinking often (and for more than a second) keeps your eyes moist and reduces dryness and irritation. We tend blink about a third less than we normally would when we stare at our smartphone screens, which starves our poor peepers of protective tears. Keep your eyes wet by blinking about 10 times every 20 minutes or so and you should be good to go. 2. Minimize glare. Unless you have a smartphone equipped with anti-glare Corning Gorilla Glass or use a matte screen protector film, you’re probably coping with a fair amount of annoying reflective glare. 3. Take breaks. Follow 20-20-20 rule. The concept is to take a break from looking at your screen every 20 minutes for 20 seconds while looking at something 20 feet away. Doing so relaxes your eye muscles 4. Adjust your brightness. Having your screen too bright or too dark stresses your eyes out and can cause problems maintaining focus. To eliminate either issue in about a matter of seconds, simply go into your smartphone settings and adjust your screen brightness so it’s about the same as the light level in the environment around you 5. Tweak your text size and contrast. Adjusting your smartphone text contrast and size also provides a little much-needed relief. 6. Keep a clean screen. Routinely wipe down your smartphone screen with a dry (not wet!) cleaning cloth to remove distracting dust, grime, smudges and fingerprints. 7. Hold your smartphone farther away. Try holding yours at least 16 to 18 inches away from your eyes to give your eyes a break.

Sir I want to study more and more but I dint concentrate in studies what should I have to do?

BHMS

Hello, There are few food which helps you in boosting up your memory power, increases focus & concentration, so try to take more of these: 1.Choline: Good sources of choline include liver, milk, eggs and peanuts. 2.Vitamin B: B vitamins are not synthesized in the body, and thus need to be obtained from food. B-complex vitamins are water-soluble vitamins, which means that they are not stored within the body. In consequence, the B vitamins need ongoing replenishment. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) rich sources include unrefined grain products, ready-to-eat cereals, meat (especially pork), dairy products, peanuts, legumes, fruits and eggs. Foods that contain high concentrations of vitamin B3 (niacin) in the free form include beans and organ meat, as well as enriched grain and cereal products. While niacin is present in corn and other grains, the bioavailability of the nutrient is much less than it is in protein-rich sources. The role of vitamin B9 (folic acid) during pregnancy is vital to normal development of the nervous system in the fetus. Good sources of folate include liver, ready-to-eat breakfast cereals, beans, asparagus, spinach, broccoli, and orange juice.Animal protein products are a good source of vitamin B12 (cobalamine), particularly organ meats such as kidney or liver. Other good sources are fish, eggs, and dairy products. 3.Vitamin A: The foods highest in Vitamin A are any pigmented fruits and vegetables and leafy green vegetables. 4.Zinc: Zinc is a very important part of the brain as well; many regions of the brain, such as the cerebellum, and hippocampus have neurons that contain this nutrient.Zinc is needed to maintain normal Vitamin A levels in blood plasma. Sources of zinc are meats, certain seafood, whole grains, baked beans, oatmeal, milk (low-fat), cashewnut, almonds, kidney-beans, cheese, peas, spinach, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine for increasing memory - Anacardium 200/ once daily.

Our Daily energy requirements for proper functioning of our body is 1600-2200 K cal of Energy if we want to remain fit and healthy. But there is a misconception that weight is reduced by dieting. But weight is not reduced by only skipping our meals or prohibition from sugars but until we are not aware what are our body energy requirements ,it will be difficult to loose weight. If we restrict ourself from taking daily diet to 1100-1200 Kcalories ,and increases our workouts, only then we can think about reducing our weight and for that we must obtain proper knowledge of exact energy levels in a particular dish we are eating, only then we can achieve our target of reducing weight by means of simple mathematical calculation. Evening primrose oil is another great ingredient that can help hypothyroid patients. Being high in gamma linoleic acids (glas), primrose oil offers anti-inflammatory benefits and helps increase the levels of thyroid hormones. At the same, it can relieve problems associated with hypothyroidism, such as hair loss and heavy menstrual flow.

Follow a heart-healthy diet

There's an easy recipe if your goal is to keep away problems like heart disease and strokes.

Eat more fruits and veggies. Choose whole grains. Try brown rice instead of white. Switch to whole wheat pasta. Choose lean proteins like poultry, fish, beans, and legumes. Cut down on processed foods, sugar, salt, and saturated fat.

When eating healthy, flexibility often works best, says joyce meng, md, assistant professor at the pat and jim calhoun cardiology center at uconn health. If you like to follow a strict diet plan, go for it. If not, it's ok" find what works for you"

Tricia montgomery, 52, the founder of k9 fit club, knows first-hand how the right diet and lifestyle can help. Health balance:

Women's health tips for heart, mind, and body

By kara mayer robinson

Looking for the path toward a healthier you? it's not hard to find. The journey begins with some simple tweaks to your lifestyle. The right diet, exercise, and stress-relief plan all play a big role.

Follow a heart-healthy diet

Tricia montgomery, 52, the founder of k9 fit club, knows first-hand how the right diet and lifestyle can help. For her, choosing healthy foods and planning small, frequent meals works well" I don't deny myself anything" she says" I still have dessert -- key lime pie, yum! -- and I love frozen gummy bears, but moderation is key"

Exercise every day

The more active you are, the better, meng says. Exercise boosts your heart health, builds muscle and bone strength, and wards off health problems.

Aim for 2 and a half hours of moderate activity, like brisk walking or dancing, every week. If you're ok with vigorous exercise, stick to 1 hour and 15 minutes a week of things like running or playing tennis. Add a couple of days of strength training, too.

If you're busy, try short bursts of activity throughout the day. Walk often. A good target is 10, 000 steps a day. Take the stairs. Park your car far away from your destination.

Montgomery exercises every day, often with her dog. By adding lunges, squats, and stairs to a walk, she turns it into a power workout" I also am a huge pilates fan" she says.

Lose weight

When you shed pounds you'll lower your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

Aim for a slow, steady drop. Try to lose 1-2 pounds a week by being active and eating better.
It doesn't have to be an hour of intense exercise every day" meng says" any little bit helps"

As you improve, dial up the time and how hard you work out. If you want to lose a lot of weight, try for 300 minutes of exercise a week.

"Eating a healthy diet will go a long way" meng says. Start by cutting sugar, which she says is often hiding in plain sight -- in store-bought items like salad dressing, packaged bread, and nuts. Try to avoid soda and sugar-laced coffee drinks, too.

Cut down your stress

It can take a toll on your health. You probably can't avoid it altogether, but you can find ways to ease the impact. Don't take on too much. Try to set limits with yourself and others. It's ok to say no.

To relieve stress, try:

Deep breathing, meditation, yoga, exercise, healthy eating, talking to a friend, family member, or professional counselor.

The CD4 count of an uninfected adult who is generally in good health ranges from 500 cells/mm to 1,600 cells/mm. Your cd4 count is normal other hiv tests are also normal, so your problems may be due to something else including anxiety, so get a general check up.
