Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Masturbation is normal, natural and never unhealthy. Even animals do masturbate. As a human being, you are also an animal. Every animal has sexual instinct because they are designed to reproduce. Human being also has sexual instinct and therefore he needs to satisfy sexual instinct. Therefore, to satisfy sexual instinct, a man or woman, masturbates. In any case, masturbation is never unhealthy or will never affect your physical or sexual health or it cannot affect your future sex life and the ability to have children. Masturbation cannot affect your growth or cause pimples or cause hair fall or cause shrinkage of penis or loss of vital nutrients etc. You should try to reduce the masturbation frequency to thrice a week and continue masturbation. You can be sure; there are no side effects to masturbation if you are able to restrict it to thrice a week. I suggest online sex counseling and therapy. Take care.

kegel exercises need to be explained in detail and in person. taking caverta evert ime before sex is not a good habit as it causes rebound impotence as side effect. a careful history and evaluation can help you with a diagnosis. feel free to consult if you would like my assistance

Start tab. Pantop 40 mg daily empty stomach and syp. Divol-la 5ml after meals for 2 weeks. Avoid smoking, hot and spicy food. Have plenty of fluids.

I am 61 years old. My fating blood sugar is consistently in the range 120 to 130 mg but postprandial is normal 120 to 130 mg. For last six months. My glycosulated haemoglobin is also 6.1. What should I do?

Dear . There s nothing to worry. Just keep a close watch. Include daily exercise of at least half hour in your schedule. Keep check of body weight. Avoid sugar/sweet intake in excesses. Drink plenty of fluids and get your hba1c repeated after 3 months and fasting. Pp sugar after a week. Just let me know the reports. At this time nothing more than this required. One additional drug could be added but only after a repeat b. Sugar f/ pp report.

  1. Eat more Omega-3 fatty acids: Omega-3 fatty acids is good for the heart. You can get Omega-3 by eating walnuts, fish and flax seeds. Omega-3 is also good for getting help with PMS and menopause symptoms. 
  2. Pile up on veggies: Daily recommended intake of veggies is three servings or more. How many of us reach this target? And then we complain of vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Veggies are our source for many important vitamins. So to tackle fatigue, muscle pains, low sex drive and vision problems, you can consciously eat more veggies the coming year. 
  3. Fibre is key to health: Fibre found in veggies, fruits and whole grains is crucial for the health of the gut. Nixing processed foods will up your health quotient naturally.

There is no harm in having a habit of masturbation twice a week. In fact it is an alternative way to keep our sexual emotions in check. But everything has a limitation. Too much of anything is good for nothing. And, doing it with a feeling of guilt is your problem. Again it is safe if you maintain to masturbate twice a week without guilt-feeling. No need to think of controlling the habit. Try to spend more time with your parents, teachers, friends and siblings. Try no to be alone as far as possible.

Pre-ejaculation/ erection problem. Swpandosh or nightfall problem also occurs due to excessive masturbation (daily masturbation comes in the category of excessive masturbation). Excessive masturbation can cause weak body, cheeky face, weak eye sight, graying of hair, less weight, fatigue, general weakness, constipation, less appetite, non-erection, low libido, nightfall and many more. During teenage, masturbation can be done once a week after that it should not be done more than 2-3 times a week till marriage. Home Remedy- 1-Onion is very good vegetable to treat sexual impotence. It increases libido and strengthens reproducing organs. White onions are best for this purpose. 2-Take about 5-10 gm root powder of Ladyfinger in a glass of milk. Add 2 tsp of mishri in this milk and drink it. This will prove helpful in improving sexual vigour. Treatment- apply pranacharya gopal oil on your penis and give a massage. It will strengthen your nerves and erection power will get better.

I live in a hot and humid environment. My main problem is dry sticky nose which creates itching sensation always (sometimes repeated sneezing and nasal blockage). I tried antihistamines, steam vapor & nasal saline drops but still there is persistent itching. How to solve this problem?

It may be due to allergy in the noss to some allergen that is causing itching and sneezing. You should try steroid spray along with antihistaminics.

How do we know that a patient on mechanical ventilator is breathing himself /herself.

Hmm. Good question. It will be difficult for a lay man to evaluate that. Because ventilators have different settings. If the patient is conscious and is able to cough then probably he is breathing on it's own. But I am guessing that you would like to know in case of an unconscious person on ventilator. Most patients on ventilators would be on SIMV setting. In whic h a ceratin amount of respirations are set to be given/assisted by the ventilators and rest the patient takes himself. So ask your doctor for the set respiratory rate insimv mode and count the patient's respiration yourself. For eg if your doctor says that that the set rest rate is 12 and you count the patuient's resp rate as 16 then the patient is taking atlest 4 breaths on his or her own. In assist control mode almost every braeth is assisted by rthe ventilator so it is difficult to assess by alay person. If the mode is cpap then every breath being taken is being initiated by the patient. To summarise ask you doctor the mode of ventilator setting, ACM or BIPAP or CPAP. It is difficult to tell inACMV mode. Follow the above example in SIMV mode if in CPAPmode then your patient is definitely breathing by himself. Hope it helps.

The average size of the erect/aroused penis ranges from 3.2 inches to 6.5 inches, but even lower sizes don't make a difference to the ability to have sex, please one's partner or have children.
