There is many mouth ulcers in my mouth! I think this is deptheria? What I have to do?

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
there are so many causes of mouth ulcers like- -Stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. -Certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer. -Sometimes a sharp tooth surface also trigger mouth ulcers. -Some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin B-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and heat in stomach. . Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take 'Becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief..

Hi, I have tooth ache as I have cavities even im taking pain killer like ketrol DT. I request to suggest me with good pain killer.

Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics
Dentist, Cuttack
Sir you r only degrading your health by taking painkillers. Painkillers are not the treatment for cavities. You have to treat your cavities from a dentist. Painkillers will only subside the pain but the infection in the tooth still stays there. So pls stop taking unnecessary medications and treat your teeth with filling, rct or extraction.

Fruits and vegetables which require continuous biting like apples, carrots and corn should be avoided as it can become quite difficult while the braces are on.

I have a clicking sound problem in my right side jaw, can you please tell me that is it a major problem? I am waiting for your answer. Thanks.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
It is normal. Lots of people have it. You should go see an oral surgeon. He will probably ask you to limit your mouth opening for a few days and support your lower jaw with your hand.

It seems you might be having periodontal problem. C/as pyorrhea. You need to get rid of it. It needs aggressive therapy. You need to make a habit of rinsing your mouth everytime you eat something and brush regularly (once in the morning before meals and once at night after dinner, add a mouthwash for better oral hygiene.

The right side of my mouth is swollen as my bottom wisdom tooth is poking out. This is my third wisdom tooth showing up. Since the area is pretty small and there is no place for the tooth to come out completely, it is pushing on the previous four teeth. The pain is a lot worse than when the previous two wisdom tooth had come, but I really don't want to take any painkillers as I avoid them at all costs. What are some natural ways to ease the pain and reduce the swelling? Thank you!

You might be suffering from bruxism. Dental evaluation of the teeth and muscles is needed to confirm diagnosis. If confirmed night guard will be needed.

I have a problem in my teeth about cavity so please tell me the solution about this. Is there any medical treatment for this.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

•If your cavity in the tooth is caused by decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

Sir, my teeth are making pain everyday and a big hole created. Please give some suggestions.

If it's painful, the cavity has gone deeper, mostly it will end up in root canal treatment followed with a crown (conservatively)

I had root canal on my right wisdom tooth and filling was also done. Now the filling has been removed and at times food gets struck but it is eay to remove it. Is it necessary to get the filling done again or remove the tooth. Also, since riot canal was already done so are their any chances of pain arising un future?

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Dehradun
Dear Sir, It seems that the root canal treated wisdom tooth was not covered with a crown (cap) after the root canal completion. Once the filling came off, it made it difficult for you to keep it clean. Kindly visit your dentist and get your tooth checked and better still, get the root canal treated tooth capped for the longevity of your tooth.

Helpful Tips for Dental Braces

Helpful Tips for Dental Braces

Getting braces is the best thing you can do for your teeth. Yes, the process is painful. And maintenance of braces can get too much, but it is not undoable!

When you have braces on teeth, those teeth need extra attention to protect them from decay, staining and gum disease. You should also take precautions to avoid damaging the braces. For example, activities to avoid include eating chewy or sticky sweets, eating hard or crunchy foods, biting your lip, breathing excessively through your mouth and pushing your tongue against your teeth,

So if you got braces for the first time, here are some helpful tips you can swear by. Read on.

  1. Listen to your orthodontist: This is kind of obvious, but seriously, listen to what your orthodontists says. You may wonder if you really need to do this or that, but not paying attention to your doctor’s advice can actually prolong your treatment, and extend the time you need to keep your braces on.

  2. Brush every time you eat: Although brushing twice a day is the standard oral care recommendation, when you wear braces, you should brush after every time you eat — even after that mid-afternoon vending machine snack or some late-night munchies. That's because food particles easily become trapped in the braces, and the longer those particles stay trapped, the greater risk you have of developing dental problems. Use a soft toothbrush with round bristles, or an electric toothbrush if you prefer.

  3. Rubber Bands: If you have been asked to use rubber bands, it is always recommended to carry rubber bands with you all the time, so if one breaks it can be replaced promptly. Rubber bands wear down and lose their elasticity, so they should be replaced often, definitely after every meal. Wearing the rubber bands all the time will keep the treatment progressing at an optimum pace.

  4. Use your back teeth to chew: Don’t bite into that burger with your front teeth like you are accustomed to doing. This actually gets the food to stick on to your braces. So eat food that you can cut into bite size pieces and chew easily with your back teeth.

  5. Drink plenty of water: Skip that soda, which will only erode your teeth, and drink water after meals. This not only keeps you healthy, but with water, you can swish it around your mouth to rinse out any big chunks of food.

  6. Stay away from crunchy food: Crunchy foods are dangerous, not only do they get stuck in your braces, they also can get quite painful to remove. Plus, crunchy foods can be bad news for the shiny braces you just got for yourself.

  7. Speak up: If during an appointment you have any query, no matter how silly, ask your orthodontist. Your doctor is there to help and guide you, so don’t shy away from asking questions and discussing your problems. Or if some part of the brace is hurting mildly, get it checked at once. Air your troubles, that is what your doctor is here for.

After The Braces Are Off-

Whitening products, including whitening toothpaste and mouthwash, should not be used until after braces are removed. After braces come off, some discoloration of the teeth will likely be present, so this is a good time for a child to use whitening strips.

Prevention is better than cure for your dental health as well as economic health.Regular check up will prevent disease of tooth and gums.Fillings, cleaning is prevention which is not so expensive and after pain root canal, placing crown ,removal of tooth ect.Are treatment which will be costly.

Hello, Halitosis (Bad breath) can indicate insufficient cleaning of teeth, cavities, insufficient digestion or digestive problems like constipation. Maintain good digestion by avoid heavy meals, taking lots of fiber in the diet etc. Drinking lots of water throughout the day will also help to curb this problem at bay. Visit to the dentist regularly.

There are various causes for mouth ulcers: *diet *deficiency *irritating fillings *stress/ allegries *late night *wisdom tooth *broken teeth etc. You need to find out the exact cause. It could be one of the above. You need to see your nearest dentist at your earliest. Till then you can apply this gel called rexidin m forteon the affected area twice a day.
