I am a teenager hand have sinus problem I can not enjoy many cold food which I want to eat please reply to my answer.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
First thing you should go for ct scan of nose and sinus than treatment is based on grade of the sinus, if it is grade iv than no treatment is available or effective unless you get this corrected by surgery, surgery will give you nearly 80-90%. Than remaining you can treat with homeopathy than it will help. The bone of he nose gets deviated this leads to nose breathing problem if a person suffering from nasal obstruction along with sinusits and mild to moderate nasal allergies it means most probably he is suffering from dns (deviated nasal septum. Nasal obstruction is because of the deviated portion of the nasal septum (this is the bony partition of the nose cavity. Allergies are because of the hampered muco-ciliary mechanism (normally mucus is produced in the nose to moisten our nose cavity, oral cavity, and help food bolus to move downward, this mucus is basically moves on the cilia of the nasal mucosa) this mechanism gets hampered and mucus start accumulating in the nose and sinus cavity which is why thick mucus comes from nose in patients of nose obstruction and person develops sinusiits. When a surgeon removes the nasal septum deviation has not been removed properly the symptoms persists, and patient thinks that the nose bone has again regrown. It is not because of regrowth but because of half surgery done or due to the non removal of the deviation (reason can be many) nowadays nasal septal deviation can be removed endoscopic ally. But if the sinusitis is grade ii or iii than there are possibility that you may get relief from symptoms.

Your weight is higher side. Obesity increases snoring. We need to see where is the obstruction when you lie down. U need Sleep study, nasal endoscopy and laryngoscopy. These tests give us about severity and anatomical site of disease.

Allergens can be house dust, cold things, pollen grains etc. You have to find out from which particular allergens you r getting this symptoms. Then its very easy to get rid of it. Hello and welcome to lybrate, going cautiously through your concern, I guess that you might be having dry mucosa inside considering the fact that you have undergone surgery 3 months back. Anyway, direct examination by your surgeon will be better for diagnosis. I would prefer: (1) solspre nasal spray. To douch the nostril thrice daily for 14 days thanks.

My kid 7 years old having tonsils and right no problem with that to him but how it will be cured.

Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD), MBBS
Pulmonologist, Delhi
Try to control the food he eats. Any thing which causes throat irritation or allergy or infection or inflammation should be avoided. Any thing which is very cold or spicy or having masala powder in it like chips should be avoided. After the age of twelve tonsils automatically starts to regress.

Dear lybrate-user, Congratulations for your decision not to smoke. When you are only one cigarette a day, it is easier to stop it fully. Sometimes stopping cigarettes give a mild headache. It will disappear after few weeks, if you don't restart smoking. However the site of your headache indicates, it might be an ENT problem. Consult ENT doctor.

Hello Dheeraj, When water enters ears while swimming ,its easier to bring it out soon after swimming. Never use cotton or earbuds as it pushes water and wax further inside. Follow the instructions below: Use a solution made of one part rubbing alcohol and one part white vinegar. Place a few drops into your ear, then let it drain out. The acid in this mixture acts to break down the earwax that may be holding in some water in the ear canal, while the alcohol dries quickly and takes the water with it. Remember not do this procedure if you have a punctured eardrum. Tilt the affected ear downward, then place your palm over the ear. Pump your palm to create a vacuum. Blow-dry the ear. Use the coldest setting possible. Take over-the-counter eardrops for clearing water from your ears. Lie down on your side with your ear facing down. Try chewing or yawning.

Dust allergy is partly genetic and partly environmental. Thus it never goes away. With better, less dusty environment  the extent if the problem gets reduced. Medicines help to downregulate the immune response of your body to these environmental allergens. Long term lifestyle  changes with gradually tapering medication  helps to tackle chronic sinus problems.  Start taking Steam inhalation twice a day. *For chronic allergic rhinosinusitis you will need to take a long term course of antibiotics  together  with Nasal sprays. *You will need to avoid dusty environment  and dust mites, animal dander etc. Regular cleaning of AC air filters. Wearing mask while driving 2 wheelers/working in dusty  areas Medical  management  is done for 3 months and then patients  condition is reviewed.  Intermittent treatment is not beneficial  in the long run. Around 30 %of people with allergic rhinitis  will develop Asthma if not treated. But majority of patients with asthma are allergic to dust. Active treatment  of nasal allergy reduces Asthma attacks and medicine requirements. This improve  quality of life. Hope this helps.

What foods should i take and which foods to avoid Any other advise and medication to get relief from this constant problem?

Hello, From your symptoms , you have to rule out a chronic rhinosinusitis , which is a possible cause of these symptoms. You will require to see an ENT physician for a clinical diagnosis and possibly a CT scan of the nose and paranasal sinuses and a nasal endoscopy , for confirmation of diagnosis . Dusty polluted environment , strong air conditioner etc may aggrevate these , so better to avoid .

I am 18 years old and I have sinusitis problem from a month. How can I get rid of that problem.

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
Main symptoms for maxillary sinusitis are thick nasal discharge, headache, watering eyes, forehead pain, recurrent infection of nose and mouth, post nasal drip, sinusitis, is nothing but a physiological disorder of nose which led by malfunctioning of aerodynamics of nose (temporary sinusitis, secondly it is because of repeated infections of the sinus (permanent sinusitis) sinuses regulations and air conditioning of the air which we breathe and to get the benefit of above we must have normal, well sized opened sinusitis and hence nose breathing is required, those who breathe from mouth, they have tendency to get more throat and lungs infections. Recurrent sinus infection, pollution, poor diet, spicy food, long term steam inhalation from nose, and allergies leads to thick discharge from nose. This thick mucus if stays in the sinuses, it leads to irritation of the sinus skin which is mucosa and this go on growing hence leads to permanent sinusitis this extra growth is called nasal polyps this is where patient needs surgical correction. If patient comes to nose surgeon at right time, doctor can revert his/her symptoms and surgery can be abandoned. Sinusitis if patient does not take serious steps to correct might lead to cardiac symptoms, lung diseases, etc. Once there are nasal polyps you have to go for surgery immediately.

Hello sir/ma'am.
My self syed Fahad hashmi I have sinus problem. And half headache problem.
My lips black.
Hi, Take Schwabe’s Alpha-SH, Alpha-NH and Biocombination-05 - all of them thrice a day for 4 weeks. Use Bakson's Nasal-Aid spray/ 1-2 sprays after every 4 hours. Management: - Avoid cold drinks and fried food, take healthy food. -Avoid exposure to Air-conditioner or cold air. -Take steam-inhalation once before going to bed. -Take enough sleep and rest. Home-Remedies: -When turmeric is combined with spicy ginger root and brewed for hot tea, this combination can help loosen mucus from clogged nasal passages, alleviate sinus pressure, and make you feel better all around. -Two or three tablespoons of raw, unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar added to a cup of hot water or tea taken three times daily will help thin out excessive mucus relieving congestion an sinus pressure. Mix with lemon and honey to taste. - Vitamin C (available in form of chewables) helps the body to resist immune system deficiencies and improves overall health. For black lips: Healthy pink lips add extra charm to a person's face. These naturally appealing lips don't need regular application of lips balms or lipsticks to look luscious and healthy. But several factors like the sun’s UV rays, smoking, caffeine and age can affect our lips and darken them. There are several natural solutions to lighten darker lips. Here is a list of natural home remedies that can lighten dark lips. 1. Sugar Scrub Take sugar and use it like a scrub. This will remove the darkness and dead skin from your lips and provide your lips a pink colour. Repeat this daily in order to get rid of black lips. 2. Beet Root Juice Apply 2-3 drops of beetroot juice and massage your lips. Beet root will make your lips pinker, giving them a luscious look. 3. Olive Oil Rub 1 or 2 drops of olive oil on your lips. This will reduce the darkness and moisturise your lips. 4. Lemon Juice We all know that lemon juice is great for hair and even greater for skin. It is also beneficial in making your lips beautiful and pink. Apply 2-3 drops of lemon juice on your lips. Stretch your lips and massage gently. You will see that the darkness is removing itself and your lips will appear to be soft. 5. Rose Flower Take 2-3 drops of rose flower oil and apply it on the lips. Rose flower oil will give you pink coloured lips, naturally. 6. Honey & Raspberry Take honey, raspberry and lemon juice in equal amount and mix them together. Apply this liquid balm on the lips and leave it. Honey and lemon will naturally remove the darkness from your lips and raspberry will give you the pink colour, you always wanted to have. 7. Brush Your Lips When you are done with your brush in the morning, brush your lips. Do it on a daily basis. This will work as a scrubber and remove the dead skin. Apply a good lip balm afterwards.
