I have a problem with my teeth & gums bleeding 3-4 times, in a month,my 2 long teeth of lower jaw front are removed by Dental teachican and fixed two acrlyic teeth the problem is i am unable to eat apple THANKING YOU DOCTOR SAHAB YOURS S.JAMAL UDDIN, And my tounge by toching dupcalite teeth my tounge getting SCRATCHES and the taste my tounge getting is sweet with acrilic duplicate teeth THANKS DOCTOR.

MDS - Orthodontics, MDS
Dentist, Zirakpur
Hi, Please do mention your age next time when you have a querry the reason you had two long front teeth is coz of excess bone loss which causes your gums to go down.Giving the impression that teeth have become long. The acrylic teeth replacement is one of the choice to replace the teeth provided they are removable and not fixed .If they are fixed taking support from adjacent teeth that is a quackery. In my humble opinion. You better get it removed as soon as possible and think of other alternatives to replace the missing teeth like.Dental implants.Fixed partial dentures .Also need to get your gums healthy by visiting a periodontist before getting anything else done.Hope this helps.Cheers

Kindly get an x-ray done of the tooth having pain. May be you will have to get root canal treatment done followed by a crown or cap. Till then you can take a pain killer like tab dentaforce dt 2 tablets dissolved in water. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique to maintain your oral hygiene.

Sometimes it may take 2-3 months in the eruption of permanent tooth after shedding of milk tooth. You can wait for 1 month, after that go to the dental surgeon.

I am suffering from teeth problem, and they become yellow, what should I do for making white?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

I am suffering from teeth problem, and they become yellow, what should I do for making white?
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening procedures (bleaching or laser) and / or artificial enamel filling. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Hello Doctor Does melanoplakia cause cancer? does it creates cancer cell in body? even at young age. Please advice doctor thanks.

MDS - Oral Medicine and Radiology, BDS

Hello Doctor Does melanoplakia cause cancer? does it creates cancer cell in body? even at young age. Please advice do...
Hi, we need to see the lesion first and than discuss whether it can cause cancer or not. There is cancer called malignant melanoma related with it and it can occur in the mouth too. You should not worry. If you have the lesion on skin than visit a dermatologist and if in mouth, visit an oral medicine specialist. Whenever there is doubt, this lesion can be removed and biopsied. If your melanoplakia is absolutely fine, than we can leave it as it is. Regards.

No uprooting the natural teeth is not a good option, primary aim should be to save the natural teeth, an intra oral x ray will give an idea regarding the treatment required. Teeth can be saved with a relative good prognosis.

Dental Implants or Dentures - What is Best Suitable for You?

BDS
Dentist, Faridabad
Dental Implants or Dentures - What is Best Suitable for You?

Tooth loss occurs due to various reasons decay and infection, fracture, accidents, gum disease, to name a few. Tooth loss has a negative impact on various aspects facial appearance, chewing efficiency, and overall nutrition. The attempts to restore the lost tooth have led to various advancements from removable dentures to cast partial dentures to fixed dentures to implants.

Listed below are features (covering advantages and disadvantages) of both dentures (fixed and removable) and implants. While dentures can be complete or partial, implants are more often partial, of course can be used to replace multiple teeth. A detailed discussion with your dentist along with oral and radiographic examination will help in making a decision.

Removable Dentures:

Advantages:

  1. Replaces tooth but more for cosmetic reasons than function.

  2. Poor chewing efficiency.

  3. Useful when multiple teeth are to be replaced, especially when no adjacent teeth are available for support.

  4. If good bone support is not available, retention is an issue.

  5. Not very healthy for the underlying jaw bone and adjacent gums.

  6. Requires daily and routine maintenance.

Fixed Denture(s):

Also called as bridges, as the artificial replaced tooth is a bridge between two natural teeth.

  1. Requires removal of sound tooth structure as abutment (support). This is the major disadvantage with fixed dentures, which promoted further work from the dentists, ending up with discovery of implants.

  2. Promotes tooth decay in the adjacent teeth.

  3. Good support, so retention is not an issue.

  4. Not as harmful to the underlying jaw bone as removable denture.

  5. Requires maintenance but not like the removable denture.

  6. Expensive compared to removable dentures.

  7. Replacing a bridge also means the adjacent healthy teeth are affected.

Implants:

  1. Very good replacement alternative, replaces not just the crown structure but also the root structure.

  2. An excellent option when the jaw bones and gums are extremely in good condition.

  3. Almost natural restoration of both chewing efficiency and facial appearance, the person can eat almost anything.

  4. Not as harmful on the gums like dentures.

  5. Does not cause bone loss like dentures.

  6. Can be used to replace single or multiple teeth, where multiple implants are placed and a bridge is placed over them.

  7. The titanium screws that are used fuse with the jaw bone over a period of time.

  8. The titanium is also biocompatible, thereby reducing chances of allergy.

  9. Implants are expensive, and many insurance companies may not cover them.

  10. If properly fabricated and maintained well, then it can last for decades.

The decision to go for a denture or for an implant should be decided based on a detailed evaluation of overall health and if required radiographic examination. Both dentures and implants have advantages and disadvantages, and the dentist will help make the right choice. If you wish to discuss about any specific dental problem, you can consult a specilized dentist and ask a free question.

Dr. I am using patanjali dant kanti toothpaste what are the benefits of it do we have any side effects.

Dentist, Visakhapatnam
Dr. I am using patanjali dant kanti toothpaste what are the benefits of it do we have any side effects.
The product has its pros and cons as other products does. PROS 1.It has nice taste. 2. And the freshness lasts longer 3.Has good antibacterial property of neem and turmeric 4.Its soothing action on the cavities and gums 5.Minimum side effects CONS 1.It cannot be an alternative to dental treatment as it cannot reverse progression of cavities or gum diseases. 2.As it soothens (obtundant) effect of clove oil on regular basis misguides the pain respose which would end up in the end stages of the disease finally results increased cost of the dental treatment in late stages of the disease or the tooth should be removed if caries or periodontal progression goes beyond to save the tooth 3.The turmeric might cause tooth discolouration in long run. As far to my knowledge is concern use it just if you want to give a try but I will never reccomend it on regular basis.
