Bleeding from teeth while brushing or in the morning is usually due to deposits on your teeth called calculus. To get rid of bleeding you may have to undergo scaling procedure where dentist cleans out all the calculus that is stuck on your teeth and the inflamed gums come back to the healthy state.

One of my friend his mouth is notopening properlly like 2 or three fingers can go inside his mouth.He is 20 right now But he used to eat taboco like chewing Now he smokes so just felt bad for him. Please advise.

Most likely diagnosis is indeed Oral Submucous fibrosis. As for treatment, first and foremost, quit all tobacco and other habits, including paan and supari chewing. Then see a dentist or an Oral Surgeon and get a thorough evaluation.

Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Right Way to Brush-


Proper brushing takes at least two minutes — that's right, 120 seconds! Most adults do not come close to brushing that long. To get a feel for the time involved, try using a stopwatch. To properly brush your teeth, use short, gentle strokes, paying extra attention to the gumline, hard-to-reach back teeth and areas around fillings, crowns or other restoration. Concentrate on thoroughly cleaning each section as follows:

B1 Tilt the brush at a 45° angle against the gumline and sweep or roll the brush away from the gumline







B2Gently brush the outside, inside and chewing surface of each tooth using short back-and-forth strokes.








B3Gently brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen breath.




Clean the outer surfaces of your upper teeth, then your lower teeth
Clean the inner surfaces of your upper teeth, then your lower teeth
Clean the chewing surfaces
For fresher breath, be sure to brush your tongue, too
Frequency of brushing-



Studies have shown that brushing once a day in preschool settings, using a fluoride toothpaste will prevent cavities. Families should be encouraged to brush additional times at


home. Brushing before bedtime is especially important, in order to prevent plaque and food particles remaining in contact with the teeth throughout the night.

Replacing Toothbrush-

You should replace your toothbrush when it begins to show wear, or every three months, whichever comes first. It is also very important to change toothbrushes after you've had a cold, since the bristles can collect germs that can lead to reinfection.

FLOSSING


Flossing in addition to toothbrushing can reduce gingivitis and halitosis compared to toothbrushing alone.


FLOSDental floss is a bundle of thin filaments used to remove food and dental plaque from teeth. The floss is gently inserted between the teeth and scraped along the teeth sides, especially close to the gums or underneath them. Dental floss may be made of either plastic (nylon, PTFE or polyethylene) or silk, and can be flavored or unflavored, and waxed or unwaxed. An alternative tool to achieve the same effect is the interdental brush.

Advantages of flossing
ØProper flossing removes plaque and food particles in places where a toothbrush cannot reach- under the gum-line and between the teeth.
ØDaily flossing is recommended because plaque build-up can lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
ØIt stimulates gums, polishes tooth surfaces, reduces gum bleeding and prevents gum disease.


FLOSSINGFlossing technique
Start with about 18 inches of floss, wind most of the floss around each middle finger, leaving an inch or two of floss to work with.

ØHold the floss tautly between your thumbs and index fingers, slide it gently up-and- down between your teeth.
ØGently curve the floss around the base of each tooth using a seesaw motion, making sure you go beneath the gum-line. Never snap or force the floss, as this may cut or bruise delicate gum tissue.
ØCurve the floss around the side of one tooth, forming a 'C' shape and rub the floss up and down to clean the tooth. Repeat the procedure in the opposite direction i.e. on the adjacent tooth.
ØUse clean sections of floss as you move from tooth to tooth.
ØTo remove the floss, use the same back-and-forth motion to bring the floss up and away from the teeth.
Floss holders are also available and can be used in the difficult to reach areas.


MOUTHWASH

MWMouthwash or mouth rinse is a chemotherapeutic agent used as an effective home care system by the patient to enhance oral hygiene.

A mouthwash is a flavored liquid that people use to rinse out their mouths before or after brushing their teeth. Some individuals may also rinse with mouthwash between brushings, particularly after eating foods that may cause a person to have bad breath. Mouthwash typically emphasize the treatment and prevention of halitosis as one of the many benefits of mouthwash. Mouthwash can be effective at combating bad breath.

ØBacteria in the mouth can also cause foul-smelling breath. Many antiseptic mouthwash products claim to kill the germs that cause bad breath.
ØSome mouthwash products are designed to help heal sores or irritation after oral surgery.

This is due to inflammation in gums. (either gingivitis or periodontitis). Need to rule out the causative factor. Commonly its due to deposition of food debris around gums.

There are many reasons for bad breath. One common reason is improper oral hygiene. Other reasons include diabetes, or some systemic conditions effecting body. Kindly under go cleaning of tooth, and maintain proper oral hygiene. If still problem persists, then check for diabetes.

You are probably into an anger related depression and do need the help of a counselor to ideally work through your emotions in particular. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

" wisdom teeth" usually erupts between 18-25years of age. Pain during the process is normal. Keep your mouth clean, gargle with salt water. Consult a dentist and check if the tooth is blocked. If it is blocked then removal of the tooth will suffice.

Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Don't forget to brush the tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. See your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

Well this is called sensitive teeth. It's due to the open nerve ending. U can try sensodyne toothpaste or colgate sensitive toothpaste to apply over there. Also take few leaves of guava and boiled it with water. Then rinse your mouth with that water. And you need to hv a check up by dentist.

Bad breath, also known as halitosis, is embarrassing and can take a toll on your confidence level. Bad breath can be due to a number of reasons such as eating odorous foods, smoking, dry mouth, medical conditions, gum disease, and sinus conditions. However, the primary cause of bad breath is the bacteria that build up on the back of your tongue or between your teeth. Maintaining good oral health is essential to controlling bad breath. This includes regular tooth brushing, flossing and tongue scraping. Drinking adequate amount of water throughout the day is also essential for keeping your breath fresh. Plus, after eating a meal, swish water around your mouth for a few seconds. This will loosen food particles stuck between your teeth and clean your mouth. Along with water, you can also treat bad breath with the help of some readily available ingredients from your kitchen cupboard. Here are the top 10 home remedies for bad breath. 1. Fennel fennel acts as an excellent mouth freshener that helps control bad breath. It also contains antimicrobial properties that fight the bacteria in the mouth. Slowly chew a tablespoon of fennel to freshen your breath and stimulate the production of saliva. You can also drink fennel tea a couple of times a day. To make this tea, steep one or two teaspoons of fennel seeds in a cup of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes. 2. Cinnamon cinnamon contains cinnamic aldehyde, an essential oil that not only covers up bad breath, but also reduces the amount of bacteria in your mouth. To treat bad breath follow this remedy twice daily. Boil one teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of water. You may add some bay leaves and cardamom too. Strain the solution and use it as a mouth rinse to refresh your breath. 3. Fenugreek fenugreek tea is highly effective when bad breath is caused by catarrhal infections. Boil a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of water. Strain and drink this tea once daily until you get rid of the problem. 4. Cloves cloves help freshen your breath and also have antibacterial properties that are very helpful in getting rid of bad breath. The easiest method is to pop a few pieces of cloves into your mouth and chew them thoroughly. This will eliminate bad breath in a few minutes. You can also make clove tea. Boil a cup of water, add one teaspoon of ground cloves and allow it to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Drink the tea or use it as a mouthwash twice a day. 5. Parsley parsley contains chlorophyll that can help neutralize bad breath. Simply chew on a fresh parsley sprig to refresh your breath. You can also dip this herb in vinegar and then chew it thoroughly. Another option is to put parsley leaves through a juicer and sip the juice anytime you need to refresh your breath. It will also aid digestion. 6. Lemon juice curing bad breath with a lemon rinse has been used for generations. The acidic content in lemons prevents growth of bacteria in your mouth. Plus, its strong pleasant smell helps mask the bad odor. Just stir one tablespoon of lemon juice into a cup of water and rinse your mouth with it. You can also add a bit of salt to it and then use it. This remedy will help to solve the problem of dry mouth which is one of the main reasons that contribute to bad breath. Apple cider vinegar due to its ph balancing effects, apple cider vinegar makes a wonderful remedy for bad breath. You can try any of these remedies depending on your preference. Stir one tablespoon of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar into a glass of water and drink it before eating your meals. The vinegar will help in digestion as well as cure bad breath. Gargle with apple cider vinegar mixed in a cup of water. 8. Baking sodabaking soda, also known as bicarbonate of soda, is another great solution for getting rid of and preventing bad breath. It helps balance the levels of acid that contribute to bad breath. Plus, it fights oral bacteria that cause bad breath. Mix one-half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of warm water and use it as a mouth rinse once daily until you are satisfied with the results. Brushing your teeth with baking soda will also help reduce the acidity in your mouth and prevent bacteria from building up on your tongue. Tea tree oil tea tree oil has antiseptic properties that act like a powerful disinfectant for your mouth. You can get the benefits from tea tree oil in a variety of ways. Brush your teeth with a toothpaste containing tea tree oil. Another option is to put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush along with your regular toothpaste. You can also mix a few drops of tea tree oil, peppermint oil and lemon oil in a glass of water and use it as a mouthwash. 10. Tea normal as well as herbal teas can also help combat bad breath. The antioxidant polyphenols present in both green and black tea can stop the growth of bacteria responsible for bad breath. You can also opt for an herbal tea like sage tea. To make this tea, steep one teaspoon of dried sage in a cup of hot water for five minutes. Strain and drink this tea several times a day to keep your breath fresh. If your bad breath persists even after trying these natural treatments, consult a doctor or dentist to see if there is a more serious underlying problem.
