My sister has 24weeks old to 2nd pregnancy and 28years old too: In ANP (antenatal profile) report, white blood cells count 11500 (but range 4000 to 10000 shows). Is there any effects please tell me and remedy too.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FMAS, DMAS

Hello, the range is 4000 -11000, so 11500 is fairly normal and if she is not suffering from any infection and is asymptomatic, no treatment is required.

Good afternoon Dr. my self anjali I am 34 year old married woman I have bleeding problem during in my period time 10 days or more days.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Your condition of Prolonged bleeding is called Menorrhagia, also known as abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB, and it is a menstrual period that is abnormal in its quantity, timing, or duration of bleeding. In some cases, the cause of heavy menstrual bleeding is unknown, but a number of conditions may cause menorrhagia. Common causes include •Hormone imbalance. In a normal menstrual cycle, a balance between the hormones estrogen and progesterone regulates the buildup of the lining of the uterus (endometrium), which is shed during menstruation. If a hormone imbalance occurs, the endometrium develops in excess and eventually sheds by way of heavy menstrual bleeding. •Dysfunction of the ovaries. If your ovaries don't release an egg (ovulate) during a menstrual cycle (anovulation), your body doesn't produce the hormone progesterone, as it would during a normal menstrual cycle. This leads to hormone imbalance and may result in menorrhagia. •Uterine fibroids. These noncancerous (benign) tumors of the uterus appear during your childbearing years. Uterine fibroids may cause heavier than normal or prolonged menstrual bleeding. •Polyps. Small, benign growths on the lining of the uterus (uterine polyps) may cause heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding. Polyps of the uterus most commonly occur in women of reproductive age as the result of high hormone levels. •Adenomyosis. This condition occurs when glands from the endometrium become embedded in the uterine muscle, often causing heavy bleeding and painful menses. Adenomyosis is most likely to develop if you're a middle-aged woman who has had children. •Intrauterine device (IUD). Menorrhagia is a well-known side effect of using a nonhormonal intrauterine device for birth control. When an IUD is the cause of excessive menstrual bleeding, you may need to remove it. ue to a miscarriage. If bleeding occurs at the usual time of menstruation, however, miscarriage is unlikely to be the cause. An ectopic pregnancy — implantation of a fertilized egg within the fallopian tube instead of the uterus — also may cause menorrhagia. •Cancer. Rarely, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer and cervical cancer can cause excessive menstrual bleeding. •Inherited bleeding disorders. Some blood coagulation disorders — such as von Willebrand's disease, a condition in which an important blood-clotting factor is deficient or impaired — can cause abnormal menstrual bleeding. •Medications. Certain drugs, including anti-inflammatory medications and anticoagulants, can contribute to heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding. •Other medical conditions. A number of other medical conditions, including pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), thyroid problems, endometriosis, and liver or kidney disease, may be associated with menorrhagia. So a thorough physical examination is required to know the Amount and Nature of bleeding and to reach to a diagnosis and treatment be given accordingly as prolonged bleeding can lead to Anaemia, Fatigue and shortness of breath in females So, I would suggest you to Undergo Abdomen Ultrasound to rule out any Medical conditions and following Blood tests Empty stomach to reach to a diagnosis of your problem CBC, THYROID PROFILE, PROLACTIN, LH, FSH, CREATININE, LFT

Hi Vinaya their is no definite cure for PCOD . You should have healthy lifestyle and diet. Daily exercise for 40minutes. No bread, potato, rice, bakery products. Have antioxidants in diet and proteins too. You need to take treatment as per symptoms like delayed period, heavy bleeding, difficulty in conceiving.

Dinner - 6 Healthy Options You Can Opt For!

Dinner - 6 Healthy Options You Can Opt For!

Ideally, dinner should be the lightest meal of the entire day, so it is important to consider only healthy food items when you are deciding on your dinner plate. Eating a diet where the majority of food is healthy, helps in reducing the risk of various lifestyle disorders such as diabetes and obesity.
If you are unable to decide, worry not. Here are 10 healthy food choices for dinner:

  1. Whole wheat bread: If you are the type of person who prefers white bread, then it is time to rethink your choice. Refined grains do not have high nutritional content when compared to whole grains. Refined grains also cause blood sugar spikes which may lead to obesity and diabetes.
  2. Plain chicken soup: A very delicious treat for long nights in the winter season, chicken soup is one of the healthiest dinner choices you can come across. It is simple to prepare and is light on the digestive system. You may add seasoning such as coriander and parsley to add flavor.
  3. Stir fried vegetables: Stir fried vegetables are healthy as they involve very little oil and time. Stir frying helps the food to retain its nutrients and keeps it calorie free. You may pair it with whole wheat bread or brown rice to add some complex carbohydrates to your diet.
  4. Chicken pasta: Chicken pasta is another dish that is easy to prepare, it contains a healthy mix of protein and complex carbohydrates. Avoid adding butter or oil to keep it light, you may use herbs to add to the flavor.
  5. Sweet potatoes: Sweet potatoes are a good source of carbohydrates that provide a steady stream of energy to the body. You may pair them with whole wheat pita bread and some scrambled eggs to make it more filling.
  6. Brown rice: If you like rice, make sure it is of the brown variety. Brown rice contains complex carbohydrates that do not spike your blood sugar levels. Add some stir fried vegetables and chicken for protein and vitamins. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

Hi, this question is for my friend. She got her periods on 9th August so her next date was 9th September. She had unprotected intercourse on 11th and 12th of august which is supposed to be a safe day. She did not get her periods on 9th of september so she underwent hCG blood test on 21st September. And the result was negative (beta level less than 2). But till now she has not got her periods. What next steps should be taken to get ensured 100% she is not pregnant? Please guide.

MD - Alternate Medicine, BHMS
Homeopath, Surat
Try hCG test once more. If it comes negative this time, then it will be confirmed that she is not pregnant. Take Ashoka Q 10 drops in one glass water daily for 1 week. It will be alright. Still if you have any queries, please let me know. Take care. :)

I am a 21 year old female and am pregnant for about 2 months or less. I recently ate an I-pill and waited for more than a week, but I haven't had any bleeding as such. Instead I ended up vomiting after a week. Each time, I get the fragrance of something, I feel like vomiting. Yesterday, I tested positive for pregnancy. The I-pill had not worked. So, I checked out a medication online and bought it as well. The medicine is "Mifegest" and it is a kit of 5 tablets. I read the procedure on how to go about the medication. The medication has drawbacks like - if the pills don't work, then I would have a surgery to go about. What should I do? I am very much confused.

Lack of knowledge can land up in mess firstly you are 8 weeks pregnant and you took I pill. I pill is supposed to be taken within 72 hours of intercourse. So.you did a blunder secondly now you have taken MTP kit. Its sad pharmacist give it without prescription. You can have it but please as a friend I would suggest you to be examined properly by a gynaecologist. Don worry. Half knowledge is very dangerous .google is not everything.

Hello I am 32 yrs old lady. I have one baby and I had a urinary infection problem last month. I look for doctor and took cifran tabletf for 5 days. Now I am alright. My question is if there is any problem is occurred in my pregnancy. We are planning second baby. I am waiting for your suggestion. Thank you.

Dear . I think that medicine you took is right but duration is too short and you should have taken for at least 15 days and checked urine to see pus cells have gone down to less than 5. In any case check urine again to see that there is no infection and there is no harm in planning your second baby.

Hello doctor, I'm 28 years old, I got married 6 months we planning for a baby for past 6 months but we couldn't. No problem with my wife. I have done my semen analysis. Volume 1.5m, PH 8.0, count 3M, mortality 10%, 5%,5%,80%, normal 50%, abnormal 50%, fructose +ve. Please tell me if I have any problem. Wat should I do further.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
Usually, a couple requires 1 year of unprotected sex to become pregnant. As only 6 months have passed after your marriage, you can try for normal conception before taking treatment from gynecologist. Your report appears Ok, but sperm count is 20-120 million, but in your case its 3 million is I have guessed it right. Get a repeat semen analysis done from a reputed lab after 4 days (no more, no less of abstinence or no masturbation) and see the report. There is more to pregnancy than just a semen report. Usually the combined fertility of the couple matters. Some variation in reports in both is acceptable. So considering all this we still have to evaluate your wife for the same and see if her reports are normal. Meanwhile talk to her, get to know her menses dates in last 3 months. Find the average length of the cycle. Then find the expected date of next menses. Count 14 days back. This would be the probable date of menses and have sex for 3 days on either sde of this date. I.e 7 days in total. This is the best you can do in the present scenario. If you do not conceive in next 6 months, do visit a gynecologist for evaluation.
