I have asthma and what is the cause for it and how do I get rid of it without taking medicine or tablets?

Certificate in Basic Course on Diabetes Management, CCEBDM Certificate in Diabetes, MBBS
General Physician, Pune
Presuming you mean bronchial asthma it is due to family history, repeated attack of cold, some allergic triggers which are particular only to you which may have to be identified like dust, change in weather, humidity vehicle fumes, cock roach, pollens etc. Breathing exercises suggested by yoga trainer may also help. If it persists waste no time to visit the general physician or pulmonologist.

I am suffering from continues cold through out the year I have dust & citrus fruits allergy when I eat them I get cold & throat pain.

MBBS
General Physician, Kolar
Avoid dust by using face masks.. You can use levocetrizine 10mg in the night but it would be temporary relief.. It's better to consult an allergist to see what exactly you're allergic to... Also consult an ENT specialist once for examination to rule out DNS, and other abnormalities

4 Most Common Food Allergies

Diploma in Allergy and clinical Immunology, MBBS, MD - Paediatrics

4 Most Common Food Allergies

Every year, the emergency rooms at hospitals get flooded by cases of allergic reactions from food. According to a census, about 15 million Indians suffer from some kind of food allergy. The symptoms of food allergy may vary from itchy mouth to potentially fatal conditions like anaphylactic shock. Other symptoms of an allergic reaction can present themselves as difficulty in breathing, swelling of the tongue, rashes and intestinal discomfort.

According to specialists, allergies to food can develop at any age, at any time. Hence, if you suspect a sudden allergic reaction to a food that you have consumed before without any problem, it is advised to consult a doctor.

Here is a list of the most common food allergies that people suffer from frequently-

  1. MILK: Milk is the most common food that children and infants are allergic to. Milk allergy must not be confused with lactose intolerance wherein a person faces many difficulties in digesting the sugar present in milk. The two conditions are not related. Milk allergy is the hypersensitivity reaction that happens in response to certain proteins present in milk and can be potentially deadly. Most children are seen to outgrow their allergy to milk.
  2. WHEAT: It is a common misconception to confuse Celiac’s disease with a wheat allergy. Wheat allergy exclusively occurs due to the hypersensitivity to the protein present in wheat alone. In Celiac’s disease, it is the gluten in the food they are hypersensitive to, which is also present in rye, barley and oats.
  3. SOY: Soy is a very common allergic food and most children seem to outgrow it by the age of 10. Most of the time, soy allergy is not too severe and the symptoms presented are mostly mild. Although, cases of anaphylaxis in reaction to soy have been reported. Soy and soy protein are very common ingredients found in food, hence it is advised to check the ingredients present before consuming it.
  4. SHELLFISH: This allergy usually does not go away and you are most likely to deal with all your life. Most people who experience allergies from shellfish are most likely to be hypersensitive to both crustaceans (lobsters, shrimps and crabs) and mollusks (mussels, oysters, scallops and clams). This type of allergy can become very intense and you must even avoid the steam produced from cooking shellfish. For some people, the mere contact with shellfish can trigger an allergic reaction

Asthma & Homeopathy Treatment

Asthma is nothing but difficulty in breathing due to various reasons. Here the air passages will be narrower n causes patient feel more suffocated, hard to take normal breathing, with excessive sweating, restlessness, Oppression of chest,Deathly feeing. All these depends on the Chronicity, severity of Asthma. First the acute attacks may lead to chronic with increased intensity, long duration. Some times the patient may die to the severity of symptoms like gasping .

It may be Cardiac in origin[where it is a bit critical, complicated], n mostly Lungs related[Bronchial]. Usually, we see the Br. Asthmatics only in general, in early ages, etc. Here In Bronchial Asthma, the origin may be due to the allergy of patient to certain food like sea food, cold things,Fish, pea nuts, egg, fragrance, perfumes, dust, pollution, chemical exposure n intake,Pollen etc. Stress also may act like triggering factor for Asthma. Hormonal imbalance in certain ages, Mostly hereditary also plays important role.Initially people who used to get allergic rhinitis, Atopic Dermatitis, Skin allergies from all above causes will gradually develop into Asthma, If, were not taken proper care.

Here in Homeopathy, taking treatment in initial conditions like in Allergy stages itself. Will definitely help in preventing from getting Asthma.Even after Asthma developed also, depending on other causative factors, then also It can be treatable with Homeopathy .
Few Homeopathy remedies that will work effectively for Br. Asthma are natrum sulph, where the patient suffers asthma from cold weather, cold things, damp, wet weather. In he same way, Arsenic album{asthmatic attacks will be more @ r after 12-1am/pm, Antim. Tart, Carbo.Veg[where the atient needs more ventilation, there will be gasping for air. Air hunger], sambuccus,Kali.Carb[when the asthmatic attacks are more @ 3am, Ipecauc,Blatta orientalis[in mother tincture from], Kali.Bich, Nux. Vomica[when c/o is associated with gastric c/o]. Like this though the c/o is known as same, but based on symptoms accordingly, the drugs should be chosen.
Avoiding the aggravating factors will help preventing suffering a lot. But when those are not all avoidable, then starting the treatment early will help the patient definitely, when they give picture of their suffering properly to an Expert.

Asthma - 5 Homeopathic Remedies to Help You Treat it

BHMS

Asthma - 5 Homeopathic Remedies to Help You Treat it

We take the act of breathing for granted, but for many people this simple action can be quite difficult. Difficulty breathing is one of the characteristic symptoms of asthma. This is because of an inflamed, narrow airway. Asthma can be allergic, hereditary, emotional or occupational in nature and can significantly lower the quality of a person’s life.

Homoeopathy is a holistic form of treatment that addresses not only the symptoms of a problem, but its root cause. This form of treatment takes into consideration the physical, mental and emotional state of a person. It has negligible side effects and hence can be prescribed to people of all ages.

Some of the most frequently prescribed homeopathic remedies for asthma are:

  1. Ipecac: This is used in cases where the patient suffers from sudden wheezing, dyspnoea, anxiety and feels a weight on his chest. In such cases, the asthma is aggravated by motion and a constant cough often causes gagging and vomiting.
  2. Arsenicum: Arsenicum is beneficial in cases where the patient is elderly and asthmatic attacks are more frequent after midnight. These patients suffer from anxiety, restlessness, burning in the chest, dry dysponea and fear suffocation. Allergic asthma caused by humidity can also be treated by arsenicum.
  3. Antim Tart: This is prescribed to patients who suffer from a rattling cough with little mucus expectoration. In many instances this cough is triggered by eating and can be relieved by lying on one side. This type of asthma also makes the patient feel drowsy and weak. Antim Tart is especially beneficial for young children and elderly people.
  4. Nux Vomica: Asthma can also be triggered by gastric troubles. In such instances breathing is more difficult in the morning and is marked by a dry cough and a feeling of fullness in the stomach. Nux Vomica is an excellent remedy for such types of asthma. These asthmatic cases also worsen in winters and may be accompanied by a headache or stomach ache.
  5. Carbo veg: This homoeopathic remedy is prescribed in cases where the patient’s face turns blue at the time of an asthmatic attack. These patients also suffer from stomach troubles and a cough accompanied by itchiness in the larynx. Along with this, they tend to feel cold, especially in their hands and feet.

Though homoeopathy has negligible side effects, it should not be used to self medicate. Homeopathic medicine should be prescribed only after the doctor has a thorough physical and emotional understanding of the patient.

Hye. Thanks for the query. There's no asthma diet that will eliminate your symptoms. But your food choices may make your asthma worse or increase your risk of developing asthma. Here's what you can do. Take in vitamin d. People with more severe asthma may have low vitamin d levels and replenishing vitamin d may improve asthma. Fish, pure ghee, milk, pulses and eggs all contain vitamin d. Even spending a few minutes outdoors in the sun can increase vitamin d levels. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. They're a good source of antioxidants that may help control lung swelling and irritation (inflammation). Antioxidants can be taken in the form of capsules as well. Avoid packeted, processed, proprietary foods and any foods with preservatives. Avoid outside junk and go for more organic produce. Avoid excessive caffeine, sugar, and salt. Avoid allergy-triggering foods. In general, allergic food reactions are personal. You will have to find which foods trigger a wheezing reaction. Eat to maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight can worsen asthma. Even losing a little weight can improve your symptoms. Learn how to eat right to maintain a healthy weight over the long term.
