Yes, it is definitely possible to treat such conditions, you have to get proper treatment for your gums with supportive medical cover and maintain your oral hygiene and once the gums are healthy the teeth will gain strength.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continuously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

Hello Doctor.
What are the easy and effective home remedies for cure of bad odour from mouth?
Thanks.
Hi lybrate-user! bad odour could be due to alot of reasons, oral infections or systemic (e. G. Respiratory, gastric) are just few reasons for it. I would advise you to rule out the oral/dental factors first. If you have a carious tooth or bleeding from your gums unfortunately no home remedies will help to solve the problem permanently. You could try chewing xylitol gums and using mouthwash for the meantime and keep your mouth hydrated by drinking water. Hope it helps you.

Bleeding is the indication of gum disease known as gingivitis with plaque deposition. Get scaling done. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash. Brush regularly two times daily.

Treating the tooth is the best option for which you need to consult a dentist and emergency treatment includes to run a course of antibiotics and pain killers. There may be cavity in your tooth. Go for x-ray to know about the extent of the cavity. After that treatment can be decided either filling or rct. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water

There is always the constant attempt to look better and more appealing. To this effect, smile designing is one particular specialty of cosmetic dentistry with the sole aim of improving a person's smile.
Photographs of various angles, jaw tracing analysis, and simulation of images on the computer are all used to arrive at an optimal size, shape, contour of the jaw and the teeth that can produce the best smile for a given patient. These changes are then replicated on paper and tooth models if required and detailed discussion happen with the patient. Thorough patient counseling is done before initiating work at smile designing.

Some parameters that are manipulated to produce a good smile designing are as follows - first the tooth per se followed by the soft tissues.

Tooth color: in most cases, the tooth color is changed using tooth whitening material or laser. Trust the dentist to achieve a balance between whiteness of the tooth and natural look. In some cases, silver amalgam fillings may be replaced with composite restorations to improve the appearance. Bridges with metal backup may be replaced with complete ceramic crowns too.

Tooth alignment: crooked or misshaped teeth can be corrected using veneers in minor cases and by orthodontic braces in severe cases. Again, if the patient is very conscious, aesthetic ceramic braces can be used.

Tooth length: if too much or too less of a tooth is showing during a smile, that needs to be corrected too. Longer teeth are considered to produce a younger appearance than short teeth, which usually is associated with old age and wear and tear. The gums can be reshaped as a part of crown lengthening.
Missing teeth: teeth that are missing produce a very bad smile and need to be replaced at the earliest for a better smile. Depending on various factors including age and bone health, the choice could be a crown or a bridge or an implant.

Tooth ratio: when a person smiles, the front tooth are the most obvious and should have a ratio of length to width as 4 to 5. This produces a balanced smile.

Tooth texture: mottling or rough edges on the tooth surface can be corrected by veneers or small composite restorations.

As regards the soft tissues,

Gum line: the smile is reproduced on tracing and corrections are made to produce a better smile, even if it requires gum corrections.

Fuller lips and cheeks: surgical procedures or chemicals may be used to produce fuller lips and cheeks that improve a person's smile.

The next time you are not happy with your smile, visit a dentist. With so many parameters that affect your smile, a little correction could produce a better smile!

5 Ways You Are Unknowingly Staining Your Teeth

You may often find that no matter how much you brush your teeth or whichever teeth whitener you might use, your teeth still appear stained and your smile still appears dull. There are certain foods, such as coffee, alcohol like red wine, soya sauce etc. which can be considered obvious culprits. However, it is not only the foods that cause staining, several other factors contribute to this as well. Following is a list of 5 things which can stain your teeth sooner than you think.

1. High intake of tea
Research has suggested that tea, be it brewed tea, green tea or iced tea, causes a high level of staining in your teeth; often in levels much higher than coffee. This is because tea contains a high level of tannins and also high amounts of acid, which aid the staining process, and eventually lead to much yellower teeth and long-lasting stains.

2. Drinking high amounts of lemonade
Lemonade is rich in sugars and acids, which effectively lead to wearing down of the enamel and exposing the next layer called the dentin, which itself is yellow in color. This makes the teeth appear yellowish. In cases where the enamel coating on your teeth is thin, the acid erosion takes place quicker; often leading to stained teeth. This condition may often become permanent or semi-permanent, with modes of reversal becoming increasingly difficult.

3. Extended periods of medication-intake
Injuries or illnesses, which lead to taking medications for sustained periods, can negatively affect the flow of blood to the teeth. This may lead to discoloration and staining. Certain medications, such as cough syrups which are rich in sugars can, also result in yellowing of teeth.

4. Swimming for long durations
Swimming for prolonged periods [usually around 6 hours a week in chemically-treated pools, can also lead to the browning of your teeth. This is because, often when you open your mouth and let water in, you allow certain chemicals to enter your mouth which can have adverse reaction on the tooth enamel. This ultimately leads to teeth corrosion and eventual staining.

5. Having excessive sugary drinks
Certain drinks which contain large amounts of synthetic food coloring increase sugar levels and aid the growth of bacteria in your mouth, thus causing tooth decay and discoloration of teeth.
