Hi Sunil., most hair loss is not associated with systemic or internal disease, nor is poor diet a frequent factor. Hair may simply thin as a result of predetermined genetic factors and the overall aging process. Several health conditions, including thyroid disease, iron deficiency anaemia, protein deprivation (during diet, and hormonal changes may cause reversible hair loss. Dos:- 1. Regular oiling is basic step, use brihat bringaraja taila of guduchi pharmacy. 2. Preferably use Guduchi antihairfall shampoo or natural wash, blot your hair with towel n donnot rub. 3.Cap Trichup, 1cap bid after food. 4.Apply amla powder mixed with buttermilk n tsp of castor oil to scalp weekly once half an hr before bath. Tips:- 1.Avoid spicy and sour items and junk food. 2.Avoid fermented food for eg:Curds,Dosa.

Dark Pigmentation - What Can Trigger Hyper Pigmentation?

Dark Pigmentation - What Can Trigger Hyper Pigmentation?

The dark pigmentation, also known as hyperpigmentation is a condition whereby there is an elevated production of melanin, the pigment responsible for the skin color. The hyperpigmentation can be an extremely unpleasant and annoying experience affecting the overall appearance of a person.

What triggers the hyperpigmentation of the skin?

  • The hormonal imbalance can be an underlying factor responsible for the increased production of the melanin by the melanocytes. It is a well-known fact that the use of birth control pills can elevate the estrogen and progesterone level. The increased estrogen level acts as a catalyst, triggering an upsurge in the melanin production.
  • The dark pigmentation can also be a hereditary trait that runs in the family.
  • In some, if not all people, increased exposure to the sun rays can trigger a skin inflammation leading to hyperpigmentation.
  • The problem can also stem from skin allergies that may result in an inflammatory response, eventually giving rise to the skin pigmentation.
  • Certain medications such as chemotherapeutic drugs, anti-seizure drugs, non-steroidal drugs, or hormone therapy can act as catalysts resulting in dark pigmentation.
  • Skin damage caused by eczema or identical dermatological conditions can also lead to pigmentation of the skin.

Natural remedies to reduce the dark pigmentation
While medications and treatments may be available to reduce the hyperpigmentation of the skin, most people opt for the natural remedies which prove to be equally effective, if not more. Mentioned below are some natural remedies that have produced amazing results in the case of hyperpigmentation.

  • Many people with skin pigmentation or blemishes have benefited immensely from the use of potatoes. Just cut a potato in two halves and sprinkle some water on the exposed side. Now take this exposed side of the potato and gently rub it on the affected skin area. Keep it for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Regularly use this for about a month (three to four times daily).
  • Apple cider vinegar can also work miracles in the case of dark pigmentation. Take water and apple cider vinegar (about 3-4 tablespoons each) in a bowl. Apply this mixture on the affected skin area and then wash off with water (lukewarm) after 5 minutes. For the maximum results, the mixture should be used twice daily.
  • Lemon, known for its bleaching properties can also be used to treat the pigmentation. Take lemon juice and turmeric powder (1 tablespoon each) in a bowl and apply it on the affected skin every night before retiring to bed. In the excitement, however, do not forget to rinse it off with water after 15 minutes.
  • You can also use lemon juice (1 whole lemon) and organic honey (2 tablespoons) mixture on the skin. Wash it off after 15 minutes and skin pigmentation will be a thing of the past. Use this regularly (twice daily).
  • The regular use of aloe vera gel (2 tablespoons) and raw honey (1/2 tablespoon) can also work wonders to reduce the pigmentation. The mixture applied should, however, be rinsed off with lukewarm water after 20 minutes.

I am having hair fall for past 6 months. And there is itching when I shampoo my hair. Please could you help me out?
Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!). Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

Hello, the condition you have described is called alopecia areata. Alopecia areata (aa), also known as spot baldness, is an autoimmune disease in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body, usually from the scalp due to the body's failure to recognize" self" and destroys its own tissue as if it were an invader. Often it causes bald spots on the scalp, especially in the first stages. As such there is no cure of alopecia areata, but it can be treated well with homoeopathy. Medication: treatment with homoeopathic medicine may take little time to get the hair back in alopecia areata, but relapses may occur there after. There is no permanent solution ot it. Schwabe's acid fluor. 200/ twice daily for 1 month. There after, revert me back for further guidance.

Hi, Dandruff is a disease caused by dryness. You should keep yourself hydrated, drink at least 14 to15 glasses of water every day and wash your hairs alternate day (two times with antidandruff shampoo n two times with your regular shampoo ). Take tab. Evion 400 mg once daily for 7 days only. Take high protein diet. Take care. And last but not the least no hair oil or no hair styling gel on scalp.

Hello. The simplest cure for such kind of problems is" aloe vera" juice/pulp (freshly made. Consume 4 spoons of aloe vera juice everyday besides apply aloe vera juice on your scalp as well. It may sound a hefty job to do but trust me it is the best natural remedy for your scalp. It will also help you grow your scalp more healthier and your hair will look more prominent with a spark of shine. The best way to cure any problem related to scalp and hair fall is. Curdle the milk in a copper utensil and keep it for 10 days. When it turns green. Apply it on your scalp at least 2 days a week. And see for yourself the amazing result.
