Mr. lybrate-user Prasad, If you have been diagnosed to have diabetes, then the treatment has to be continued for lifetime. Even if the blood glucose is well controlled even then the treatment has to be continued for lifetime. Along with the drugs, diet control and exercise (walking for 6 -7 kms every day) has to be continued. Thanks.

Dear sir, I have sex problem when I talk to any girl in valgur topic I need to take masturbate.

Dear sir, I have sex problem when I talk to any girl in valgur topic I need to take masturbate.
There are no harmful side effects of masturbation. Medical science has debunked many myths formally associated with masturbation, such as hair growing on the palms, insanity, or that masturbation will drain excessive energy from the body. Some people report feeling guilty about masturbating. Negative feelings associated with any behavior can threaten a person?s health and well being. 1 .The nervous system is affected the most. 2 .Besides the heart, the digestive system, the urinary system as well as the other systems are adversely affected and consequently the whole body becomes the museum of diseases with profound weakness. 3.The eyes become sunken, the cheek bones protrude and there is a black rim round the eyes. 4 .Continuous headache and backache. 5 .Dizziness and loss of memory. 6 .Palpitation of heart on lightest exertion. 7 .Nervousness. 8 .Unable to perform any heavy physical or mental work. 9 .The person dislikes any company and activities and rather likes to sit in seclusion and suffers from weakness. 10 .All the senses are impaired. 11 .Vision becomes dim, the tongue begins to stammer and ears tend to become deaf etc. 12 .Lastly T. B. or insanity or some other serious disease catch hold of the victim to lead his life to a close. 13 .Impotency. How much is too much masturbation (and sex for that matter)? That depends but it's suggested men keep their ejaculation frequency down to 2-3 times a week. However, sexual activity can be experienced more often if men learn how to orgasm without ejaculation. Doing so can actually store bioenergy into your system and make your penis firmer, your erections last longer, and your ejaculate volume bigger For further assistance you can concern me privately.

Stroke - Debunking Myths About it

Practical Course in Diabetology, POST GRADUATE COURSE IN DIABETOLOGY, MBBS
Endocrinologist, Srinagar
Stroke - Debunking Myths About it

Strokes occur when blood to the brain gets interrupted or reduced. When this occurs, brain cells begin to die as they don't get enough nutrients and oxygen. Such life-threatening episodes can strike you anytime.

Many myths surround this medical condition:

Myth 1: Women don't suffer from strokes

The opposite is true. It is women who suffer strokes more often than men. This is because women tend to live longer than men whose longevity gets affected by heart disease. Since they live longer than men, they tend to be more vulnerable to strokes.

Myth 2: Strokes aren't easy to recognise

Strokes can be easily diagnosed through the face, arm, Speech and Time test (FAST). If you suffer from slurred speech, facial droop or numbness on one side of the body, you're said to suffer from a stroke.

Myth 3: Strokes are a form of heart attack

Although strokes and heart attacks are closely related, they are not the same. In strokes, blood supply to the brain gets interrupted; on the other hand, in heart attacks, blood supply to the heart gets severely affected.

Myth 4: Only older people suffer from strokes

This isn't true young people can experience strokes as well. About a quarter of stroke cases are reported by people aged 65 and below. More importantly, irrespective of the age group, the warning signs are the same; it is only in response that differences can be found between younger and older people.

Myth 5: Strokes can't be prevented

Through changes in your lifestyle, strokes can easily be prevented. You can reduce your chances of getting a stroke by having a balanced diet, exercising, keeping an optimum body weight and limiting alcohol consumption as well as quitting smoking. Moreover, up to 80% stroke cases can be prevented by leading a healthy lifestyle. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a neurologist.

Know if You Have Arthritis in the Knee

MS - Orthopaedics, MBBS
Orthopedist, Hyderabad
Know if You Have Arthritis in the Knee

If you are suffering from arthritis, it is important for you to know about how it affects your knee and other joints. Arthritis is a chronic, systematic inflammatory disease which damages your joints and connective tissues. Your knee is commonly affected by arthritis and there are three primary types of arthritis that occur in the knees. They include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and post-traumatic arthritis.

Types of arthritis
The different types of arthritis affecting the knees occur due to different reasons. Osteoarthritis is a progressive condition, which wears away the joint cartilage over time. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory condition, which may occur at any age. Post-traumatic arthritis occurs after an injury is inflicted to the knee and may occur several years after a ligament injury or knee fracture.

Major symptoms

  1. Arthritis pain may occur all of a sudden but develops slowly. In the early stages, the pain is observed in the morning after you have been inactive over the night. Pain is likely when you want to move around. Pain may be experienced even when immobile.
  2. Periodic inflammation is a common symptom of arthritis of the knee. This happens because of the formation of bone spurs or excess fluids in your knee. The swelling gets pronounced after being inactive for a long period. The skin on your knee may look red and feel warm while you touch it. This may lead to chronic inflammation, which is very difficult to manage.

Treatment
There are several ways of treating knee arthritis. The mode of treatment depends on the severity and cause of knee arthritis. NSAIDS or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are commonly prescribed for dealing with arthritis pain temporarily. Other medicines used for knee arthritis treatment are as follows:

  1. Analgesics, which help in pain reduction act as good alternatives to NSAIDS.
  2. Corticosteroids are used for reducing inflammation.
  3. Certain DMARDs or disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs are used.

Certain injections that are used for helping with knee arthritis. They include:

  1. Hyaluronic acid supplements, which ease the pain and inflammation by lubricating your knee joints.
  2. Corticosteroid injections also soothe inflammation and pain.

You may also require a surgery for dealing with knee arthritis when other modes of treatment fail. The most common surgeries are as follows:

  1. Total joint replacement, where your knee is replaced with a prosthetic made of metal, plastic or ceramic.
  2. Osteotomy, where the knee bones are modified for controlling pressure and damage in the knees.
  3. Arthroscopy, where an incision is made in the knee for removing damaged parts.

It is recommended for you to consult a doctor, if you experience any symptom of knee arthritis. Early treatment will prevent the condition from worsening.

I'm 23 years old biotech final years student .I'm masturbating from past 12 years and many a times my doctor warn me ...
Dear Lybrate user. Many people think that they are ADDICTED to masturbation, where as they are actually just used to masturbate regularly and can not quit easily. Addiction is problematic and being used to is not, though there is only a thin line separating both. Masturbation is not harmful as long as it is not an addiction. We need to determine if you are addicted or just used to. Sex thoughts, Sex addiction, masturbation addiction, porn films addiction etc comes under behavior addiction. Behavioral addiction is a form of addiction that involves a compulsion to engage in a rewarding non-drug-related behavior – sometimes called a natural reward – despite any negative consequences to the person's physical, mental, social or financial well-being. Behavior addiction needs to be curbed or controlled using your own self will power. Diverting your mind and body away from the circumstances which compels you for the addictive habit, with the help of physical exercises, games, entertainment etc can help you. Never sleep alone. Be always with your family even at night etc are some other tips. Willpower is the key always. Behavioral therapy also works well. Take care.
