If your pain is more in the distal joints, ie. In the upper limbs if the pain is present in the fingers/wrist and in the lower limbs it the pain is present in the toes/ ankle, then we shall definitely say it is Rheumatic arthritis. Wear elbow brace and wrist brace which will make her to feel warm and that will make the joints become firm. Hot water fermentation will help Knee cap will also help to prevent the damaged cartilages. If your pain is more in the distal joints, ie. In the upper limbs if the pain is present in the fingers/wrist and in the lower limbs it the pain is present in the toes/ ankle, then we shall definitely say it is Rheumatic arthritis. Which joints you have pain? If your proximal joints (ie. Shoulder, hip & knee has pain) then you can pour hot (warm) water in that area to reduce the inflammation. If you have pain in the distal joints ie. Wrist, fingers, ankle, toes then you can wear either elbow brace or wrist brace which will help you to feel warm and very protective. And also immerse the distal joints in the hot water tub which will help you to reduce the pain. Consult the near by physiotherapy clinic and also consult a general physician to check with your ESR levels to check whether you have inflammation.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate As per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this - 1) Do take medications regularly and do a clinical exam every 3 months by your doctor(Endocrinologis)and check your TSH level every 3 months. 2) Do take a multivitamin like (Rejuvit Plus )once a day at bedtime. 3) Do regular exercise 30 mins in a day. Diets required for Hypothyrodism - Some diet suggestions for hypothyroidism include: 1) Foods high in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids such as leafy green vegetables, salmon, nuts, seeds, and shrimp should be added to your menus. 2) Try to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Water and green tea can be sipped on in between meals to prevent dehydration. 3) Take Iodine rich foods such as seaweed and algae should be eaten regularly. Foods such as broccoli, cauliflower, soy, beans, and spinach can actually slow down the functioning of the thyroid so they should be eaten in small quantities. 4) Try to avoid artificial sweeteners, caffeine, dairy and alcohol when on a diet for hypothyroidism. 5) You can do Yoga poses such as the Sun Salutation, the Dead Man's pose, the Wind Relieving pose, Head to Knee Pose, the Fish pose and the breathing techniques are vital for providing energy, improving blood circulation and relaxing the nervous system along with improving the functioning of the thyroid gland. So to do it you need to consult with a yoga instructor. Hope that helps.

Having a first degree relative with diabetes does indeed increase your chances of developing the same. But you can avoid it by following a healthy lifestyle. Eat and sleep on time avoid heavy meals at one time with long periods of fasting between 2 meals avoid/minimise fast food/oily food/ bakery products exercise regularly or atleast try to be more active. Eg walk instead of travelling by vehicle for short distances, use the stairs instead of lift drink more water eat more of fresh fruits and vegetables quit smoking in case you do.

Mr. lybrate-user Kant, Thanks for the query. From the given information it appears the PP glucose is high. It needs to be around 160 mg. What is the HbA1c%? Please check that. You have not mentioned the dosage of present tablet that is being taken. To control PP glucose rise, one needs to look at your diet and extent of exercise that is being done daily. If needed some additional drug may be added to reduce post prandial hyperglycemia. Thanks.
