Measure your body temperature using thermameter, if temperature is more than 99 degree f. It is to be considered fever, otherwise, take good digestible food and have adequate rest and sleep.

You have an allergic problem. The symptoms that you have mentioned point to an allergy. Taking an anti allergic tablet for 3 weeks should help. If there is no relief in the symptoms consult an ent surgeon who will examine & decide on the line of treatment that you have to take.

I have a problem of nose block since last 2 days and no nasalspray has cured it permanently. What to do?

DORL, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Faridabad
If a person suffering from nasal obstruction with mild to moderate nasal allergies it means most probably he is suffering from dns (deviated nasal septum. Nasal obstruction is because of the deviated portion of the nasal septum (this is the bony partition of the nose cavity. Allergies are because of the hampered muco-ciliary mechanism (normally mucus is produced in the nose to moisten our nose cavity, oral cavity, and help food bolus to move downward, this mucus is basically moves on the cilia of the nasal mucosa) this mechanism gets hampered and mucus start accumulating in the nose and sinus cavity which is why thick mucus comes from nose in patients of nose obstruction and person develops sinusiits. When a surgeon removes the nasal septum deviation has not been removed properly the symptoms persists, and patient thinks that the nose bone has again regrown. It is not because of regrowth but because of half surgery done or due to the non removal of the deviation (reason can be many) nowadays nasal septal deviation can be removed endoscopically.

Regular cold may be due to Allergies or due to decreased immunity repeated episodes of viral infection. *Steam inhalation  twice a day. *Have fruits 5 portions  every day  *A course of vitamin B complex and vitamin C to improve  immunity. *Avoid  allergic stimuli like dust ,pollens. If you remain in AC room either ensure AC FILTER is cleaned every 2 weeks  or use a mask *Steroid nasal  sprays may be needed for a prolonged duration  Anti allergic  drugs may also be needed Hope this helps.

BHMS

Hi, try to wipe out the water first with an ear bud as cotton in bud will absorb the water. Then lie down on the same side on which side water is in ear on bed pillow on below the ear and give few gentle jerks on the pillow so that with the gravitational force and jerks, water will flow down out of the ear. Again wipe out the remaining left water with an ear bud carefully. After this get a homoeopathic medicine by the name of mullein oil/ pour 2 drops of this in the affected ear, leave it for few minutes. It will make clear the ear. At last, visit an ent specialist to get an ear check-up.

Lybrate-user first of all you have to make sure that you maintain a proper diet schedule i. E. Have breakfast, lunch and dinner on time. Not taking meals at the right time is one of the most common cause of gastric reflux leading to acidity causing throat pain, difficulty in swallowing etc. So first of all make a proper diet schedule and avoid staying empty stomach for long durations.

Hi I am suffering from tinnitus in my left year since April. I have consulted ent doctor. They have given some medication. But while going for audiometry test. That person has told me that tinnitus can't be cured. Doctors prescribe medicines only for patient satisfaction. Is it true? Is there any natural way to cure this. Please help me.

MS - ENT, MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Mumbai
tinnitus is a problem which can be countered or over powered by simply giving yourself to understand that it is not a disease . it is not something life threatening. once your mind is set to that there is nothing to cure at all .

You need to see a ent specialist. Don't waste time in online consulting. You need a careful check up and proper treatment. Ear infection can complicate further to hole in ear drum or a hearing loss.

7 Ways to Get Rid of Mouth Sores

One of the irritating conditions that can affect the mouth of a person is sores, which can be quite painful. These sores can affect anyone of any age group or gender. Sores may make it difficult for a person to eat, speak or even swallow. Here are a few ways through which you can get rid of mouth sores quickly or at least alleviate the symptoms to lessen the pain:

1. Topical Products - There are various types of creams and lotions which are available in the market as over the counter drugs for treating or at least lessening the symptoms of mouth sores. Some of the common chemicals used to treat the sores are Fluocinonide, Benzocaine and Hydrogen peroxide.

2. Food and nutritional supplements - In many cases the sores are caused within the body due to deficiency of nutrients such as Zinc, Vitamin B12 or B6 and the doctor may prescribe special medications to supplement the need for those within the body.

3. Rinses - Certain special types of oral rinses are prescribed by the doctors when treating mouth sores. Most of the rinses prescribed by the doctors have a steroid, namely dexamethasone, which proves to be effective in the treatment of mouth sores.

4. Cauterizing or destroying sores - In certain cases where topical or oral treatments haven't worked it may be necessary to correct it by cauterizing or using a special device to burn and destroy the sore so that new tissues can grow in its place.

5. Oral medications - Certain oral medications may be prescribed for sores which are caused due to underlying physical conditions such as ulcers.

6. Avoiding spicy food - Spicy foods are also a leading cause for canker sores as it may cause chemical imbalances within the stomach as well as inside the mouth and hence should be avoided as much as possible.

7. Improving general oral hygiene - Regular brushing, flossing, and proper oral care will definitely reduce the chances of getting oral sores.
