Dear lybrate-user, for better alignment of teeth, we need to create some space in the jaw towards which the teeth will move over the course of treatment. If you go ahead without extraction, the existing teeth in your jaw will become crowded and overlap one another due to lack of space. Hence, such extractions are necessary during most orthodontic treatments (braces). Also, unlike what was traditionally believed, these extractions do not adversely affect your eyesight or any other part of your body. These notions are totally mythical and have no scientific basis. Please go ahead.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

Well in this case you might be suffering from tooth abscess or dental abscess. It is caused by any trauma in mouth causing dislodged or fractured tooth followed by bacterial infection over it thus accumulation of pus is there. You should immediately consult local dentist for root canal treatment in which damaged tissue is removed wth pus drainage.

I regularly suffer from mouth ulcer from last 3 years after eating oily foods and stomach ache. Help me to cure.
Mouth ulcers mouth ulcers can vary is size, shape and number. Mouth ulcers are self limiting, which means they heal naturally by themselves. The medications are only to ease the pain and burning sensation during the course of the healing. Please do not self prescribe any medications as it might at times delay the healing of the ulcer. Please visit the dentist to know exactly the type of the ulcer and its treatment. To ease the pain you cud by a topical anaesthetic gel and apply it before eating anything spicy. Try to reduce the stress, avoid long exposure to sunlight, avoid carbonated drinks and citrus fruits and juices containing citric acid, avoid lemon with food and keep urself hydrated. Please visit the dentist for exact diagnosis and treatment. I hope I have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you need more clarification. God bless and good luck.

We often tend to neglect the black spot on tooth, which eventually hollows out the entire tooth. At this stage the tooth cavity is limited to the outermost layer that's enamel. Over a period of time, it enters dentin which is the second layer of tooth. At this stage, slight sensitivity to cold/hot may be experienced. After eroding the dentin, it enters the third layer, which is the pulp, and this is the time you experience shooting pain, can't sleep in the night. This is the time you visit dentist and undergo a root canal treatment and then a crown, 2-4 appointments minimum and around 5000 rs expenditure. Now you realise that a visit to a dentist few months back would have been better. The dentist would have simply removed a decay and cover your tooth cavity with a dental cement. Just 600-800 bucks. So my dear patients, don't wait for the dental pain and then seek treatment. Better, keep a watch on your teeth, visit dentist every 6 months for routine check up, your will save lot of time, energy and money!

Hi lybrate-user once again. Well in replacement of teeth, there are variety of options from simple to complex. Depending on the biology of your gums and bone. We cud think of options. Remember shalu expensive treatments are not good options always. Every option will have its limitations. We need to see and analyse which suits you the most. Also the position of the extracted area to be considered, the amount of bone underneath and the state of your gums are important to be assessed. Well keeping all this into consideration you and your dentist will come to a decision which fits you the best. Consider the best treatment for you and don't think expensive ones cud be best ok. Cheers and good luck

You may experience sensitivity for a while but that can be reduced using sensitivity toothpastes. If you do not do it too much, blaching is not a permanent problem. It should cost you around 10, 000 rs for all teeth.

Hi Gum bleeding is the indication of gum disease known as gingivitis with plaque or tarter deposition. Scaling is the option to get rid of bleeding. You can use crest toothpaste to control plaque deposition. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash. Take Celin tabs once daily for 15 days.

Hi.
I'm near about 20 year old.
My teeth effective from cavity.
It show high sensitivity.
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.
