Diabetes and Dental Care

MDS - Periodontics
Dentist, Thane
Diabetes and Dental Care

If you have diabetes, make sure you take care of your mouth. People with diabetes are at risk for mouth infections, especially periodontal (gum) disease. Periodontal disease can damage the gum and bone that hold your teeth in place and may lead to painful chewing problems.

The good news is you can keep your teeth and gums healthy. By controlling your blood glucose, brushing and flossing every day, and visiting a dentist regularly, you can help prevent serious problems in your mouth

Natural teeth cannot substitute artificial teeth whether its removable or implant. Kindly do not remove your natural teeth just because they are big. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (model study, full mouth & profile x-ray) to decide upon treatment. You may need fixed / removable braces. Requirements may depends on the age, complaint, duration of the treatment & affordability. Cost of cosmetic dentistry (braces) varies with dentist. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I am suffering from teeth pain what should I do now?

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist,
I am suffering from teeth pain what should I do now?
You should go for an x-ray to know about the situation. You may have cavity inside tooth. Or you may have gingivitis or abscess. So its important to be investigated thoroughly to decide the treatment plan. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water. Or ibuprofen after meal.

I have gaps between tooth on upper jaw is there any solution to cover the gaps without any side effects.
You can opt for cosmetic treatment which is painless and less time consuming and economical compared to braces. So visit a dentist and ask for direct composite veneers.
