Some vegetables are known to contain certain ingredients that have the ability to facilitate digestion and thus, they help to improve the appetite. For example, raw grated radish mixed with a little curd is a strong appetizer. Raw white onion and raw cucumber also have strong appetizing properties. Regular consumption of bitter-tasting foods such as amaranth, fenugreek and bitter gourd also helps to improve the secretion of digestive juices and this helps increase appetite. Tomato also has the ability to deal with indigestion and can help improve appetite. Add generous amounts of red and juicy tomatoes into your gravies, make a soup with tomato and other spices or just eat the vegetable raw by sprinkling a little pepper powder on it.

I have a skinny physique, How get rid from skinny physique please answer my question I shall be very thankful to you.
To have a good physique you should follow 3 steps in your life 1.BALANCED DIET 2.EARLY MORNING BRISK MORNING WALK for 30 minutes and 10 minutes evening walk after Dinner 3.DRINK 6-8 Glasses of water daily. As 60% of our body is made of water, it acts as a carrier of essential nutrients inside our body. Loosing as little as 5% of body's weight as water can cause headache, fatigue and lower your muscle strength. To stay healthy, an adult should drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Balanced Diet= 60% Carbohydrates + 20% Fats + 20% Proteins 1. Carbohydrates: Our main source of energy. Stored in liver and muscles. Carbohydrates are used the most by our body duringexercise. Hence, it is important for people who exercise regularly to consume a diet rich in carbohydrates. (a) Instant/rapid carbohydrates energy sources: Banana, Milk, Sweets, Sugarcane juice. (b) Slow carbohydrates energy sources: Beans, Bread, Cereals, Potato, Pulses, Rice. 2. Proteins: Essential for growth, repair of muscle, skin, hair and body tissues. Protein deficiency leads to low immunity, hairfall, feeling of tiredness. Proteins are not stored in our body as any excess protein is converted to energy or fat. Hence, a person requires protein intake every day. When the body does not get enough carbohydrates to fuel itself, it falls back on protein bank. That is why people who follow starvation diets or go on fasting lose muscle tissue. (a) Major protein sources: Egg white(white portion), Milk, Soybeans/Soymilk, Fish, Cheese, Tofu. (b) Other protein sources: Beans with wheat, Nuts, Curd, Yogurt (Dahi). 3. Fats: Required and healthy when taken in small amounts. Excess fat leads to weight gain, increase in bad cholesterol (LDL) and heartproblems (a) Major fats sources: Egg yolk (Yellow portion), Avocados, Whole Milk, Butter, Cheese, Nuts. (b) Other fats sources: Corn, Vegetable/Olive oil, Biscuits, Flaxseeds(San Beej). 4. Vitamins and Minerals: Critical for normal functioning of organs and processes within our body. They do not provide energy directly but work behind the scenes to break down food into energy. 5. Fiber: It helps retain water and in making our stools softer to avoid constipation. Intake should be 25 to 35 grams a day. 6. Calories: A measure of how much energy food or drink contains. On an average, a man needs around 2,000 calories a day and a woman 1700 calories a day to maintain his weight and good health. Number varies by person depending upon weight, age and how active the lifestyle is. 7. Guideline: Each day have 3 main meals, 2 snacks, 5 pieces of fruit and at least 1 glass of milk.

Dear, if you tired very fast and feeling weakness. Then you will definitely recover from weakness by following these very useful tips. * you should take proper balanced diet first. That means you have to take vegetables, milk, chapattis or rice, butter / cream, cereals (daals) or cheese every day. Very important thing, do not miss or skip your meals at any cost and take meals on time. * proper 6-8 hours sleep is very important. If your sleep is less than 6 hours, then you feel tired very early. So complete your sleep. * do breathing execises daily in morning & evening. Just sit down in peaceful place, close your eyes, take deep and long breaths in and out. Do it atleast for 10-15 minutes daily. You can also do pranayams like anulom vilom for better results. *take a walk, in first walk normally for 10-15 minutes for 15 days. You can do it on treadmill also. * you can take ashvagandha churn of baidyanath 1 teaspoon with milk daily for 2 months atleast to get your strength back. * check out your haemoglobin level in 3 months, if it is low you get tired early. So get treatment of low haemoglobin (anemia). Dear, Please include a healthy breakfast upon 45 mins of waking. If your breakfast is late, please include a portion of fruit such as apple, papaya or melon first thing in the morning. This will help you kickstart the day well. Include a lot of nuts, seeds, pulses and dhals over carbohydrate rich foods. Also make multigrain rotis and vary your cereals so that you get the benefit from all the cereals. You can include jowar, barley, bajra, wheat, ragi, brown rice flour etc. To ensure you lose weight faster, focus more on the foods that you eat after 5pm. Including natural foods after this time enables a healthy and a quick weight loss. You can add fruits, curd, boiled vegetables, mix veg soups and drink buttermilk for filling. You will be able to sustain with this if you eat a good breakfast and lunch. Ensure you drink at least 3 liters of water everyday. All the best. Thanks Ranjani Raman

Regular intake of anything is harmful. Noodles are not bad you can have it but taking excess of anything would affect your body. Noodles does not digest easily. It remains in digestive system after a long time of having it. So as an advice I would request you to go for some other options which are instant cooking like poha, rice, oats, if you are eggeterian you can have boil eggs etc. There are many other things that you can have other than noodles. At your age I understand you love to eat noodles. You can have it but make sure not to have in excess as it will hamper your digestive tract and may lead to various other problems. For any query please inform. Good luck. Have a healthy life.

Dietitian/Nutritionist,
Eat a lot of good things Protein = building block for your muscles Carbs will help you put on weight, but it won’t be muscle Keep track of everything you eat Compound exercises are your friend Appearance is a consequence of fitness Let your muscles rest Sleep Make it part of your routine Realize you will put on some fat U need to take a high protein high calorie diet Good food sources of calcium Dairy: Dairy products are rich in calcium in a form that is easily digested and absorbed by the body. Sources include milk, yogurt, and cheese. Vegetables and greens: Many vegetables, especially leafy green ones, are rich sources of calcium. Try turnip greens, mustard greens, collard greens, kale, romaine lettuce, celery, broccoli, fennel, cabbage, summer squash, green beans, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and crimini mushrooms. Beans: For another rich source of calcium, try black beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, white beans, black-eyed peas, or baked beans. Herbs and spices: For a small but tasty calcium boost, flavor your food with basil, thyme, dill weed, cinnamon, peppermint leaves, garlic, oregano, rosemary, and parsley. Other foods: More good sources of calcium include salmon, sablefish (black cod), tofu, oranges, almonds, sesame seeds, blackstrap molasses (black treacle), and sea vegetables. And don’t forget about calcium-fortified foods such as cereals and orange juice.

My mom has diabetes she doesnt have control over it she is getting thinner day by day what should I do to get her to normal.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
She is being run down by diabetes and is a dangerous complication of diabetes which affects all organs if not properly controlled. It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch.
