Occasional pain on right side not relayed to exertion is probably non cardiac origin. Smoking at this young age can reduce your life span considerably. You are exposing yourself to the risk of heart attack, lung cancer, copd and many more diseases. All though your current medical problem might not be serious at present smoking can land you in serious trouble 10-20 years down the line.

Lalit your weight is a little in excess in proportion to your height you require early morning exercises. Secondly surya namaskar exercise will surely help in all above aspects. As far as low blood pressure is concerned it requires no medicine. You should increase your daily fluid intake. So that you will feel fresl and energetic thanks.

My uncle is a smoker and he's now facing breathing problems and chest pain. Is their a way to help him quit smoking.

My uncle is a smoker and he's now facing breathing problems and chest pain. Is their a way to help him quit smoking.
Hi. This is a really very good approach. Appreciate it. Quit smoking is of utmost importance for your uncle. But at the same time, breathing difficulty and chest pain in a patient with chronic smoking habit also requires cardiologist (hear doctor) consultation. So kindly consider doing ecg, 2d echo and other tests as your town cardiologist feels necessary. Nicotine chewing gums are good to help quit smoking. Take care.

At 19, good to know that your basic reports like CBC and BP are normal. Excess heart beat can be due to thyroid and stressful life with multitasking, doing lots of work at a time. Get your eyes tested too along with total lipid profile, thyroid profile and ecg, stress test. Do write back with reports and your lifestyle as a student /working girl at 19. You are still a growing up teenager and you have got to do lots in life through education, degrees get back with reports.

For High BP and diabetic people which form of exercise is more appropriate Yoga or gym.

For High BP and diabetic people which form of exercise is more appropriate Yoga or gym.
Yoga is what I recommend to my patients. Basically, when you exercise regularly, it is all good, but once the gym membership is over, all exercises cease. This has a bad affect on health and diabetes. Yoga is something which doesn't need sophisticated equipments and can be easily done as per the patients convenience. Amongst exercises, swimming is the best.

I am hepatitis b positive and my lipid profile is also deranged should I take antilipidemic drugs.
Antilipidemic drus for such complicated case is to be treated carefully. Lipidis initially may be controlled by ezetimide & fibrates & diet, exercise etc. If not controlled then for hepatitis b virus is to be treated with nucleotide antiviral drugs with low dose of statin may be given.

If you are facing tiredness and chest pain then you should get yourself reevaluated for your cardiac health status as soon as possible get an ECG and 2D echo cardiography done to check your heart function and development of any new changes then you can discuss the same with your cardiologist for any need for change of treatment medications Without having the complete detailed history of your case. It would be wrong for anyone to change your medications. But yes. I can educate you In general every patient who has a significant blockage in the heart or has a history of heart attack should be porn at least 4 types of medications 1) antiplatelets which increase the clotting time of blood and decrease chances of future heart attacks and Re-stenosis of the stent Both Prax and ecosprin are antiplatelets. Initially you are kept on two types of antiplatelets and depending upon your disease and your progress your then shifted to single antiplatelet after 6 months or 1 year. 2) Statins - are cholesterol lowering medications which are supposed to again prevent future heart attacks. Tonact is a statin 3) ARB / ACE Inhibitors - which help decreasing pressure on the heart and prevents remodeling injuries. Eg. Cardace / telma 4) Beta Blockers - They decrease the heart rate thereby reducing the work load on the heart. Eg. Atenolol / Betaloc. Usually all post angioplasty patients are kept on at least these 4 types of medications and depending upon the side effects and contraindications of medications are changed and slowly over period of time the dosage of these medications are decreased depending upon the recovery.

It may also be caused by smoking/ obesity/ high intake of salt & processed foods/stress. 1. have 1 coconut water daily (without cream) 2. Replace your salt with rock salt & tata salt lite 3. Avoid table salt, processed & ready to eat, canned foods 4. Restrict egg intake to 2 times a week 5. Cut down salt in cooking, use flavour enhancers like lemon, vinegar, herbs, spices, condiments 6. Dear lybrate-user, it is good that you wants to stop smoking, we are destroying our health by smoking normal human takes oxygen into lungs 12 -15 times per minute (12 - 15 breaths) lungs mixes oxygen in our blood and it purifies our blood, by smoking we are mixing not only oxygen adding and mixing bad elements like nicotine etc. In oxygen, that spoils our blood and our body organs like lungs, heart, kidney etc how to quit: by willingness and willpower" where there is a will there is a way" reduce one by one day by day.
