Let I take the medicine for leg pain or eye pain and further I am suffering from an ear problem?
Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Advice hot fomentation. Gentle stretching of hand muscles. Ball exercises. Wrist exerciser. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must.

What to do?
You have it seems developed a neck strain due to maybe bad posture while sleeping etc. If you have localized neck pain with no other symptoms like radiating upper limb pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your neck while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medications which suits you, you can also add a muscle relaxant for relief of muscular spasm - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight specially overhead, sleeping with maintenance of proper posture and using a firm to hard mattress etc. We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we might have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi vishnu here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift can give you some relief. -a physical therapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them.

Good morning lybrate-user as you told you are suffering from shoulder pain and it started after doing your gym exercises it can be because of improper warm up so prior to your gym sessions please do proper warmup proper stretching exercises and look after the way you are lifting you should increase is gradually so you can avoid any type of injury if there is any tenderness in your shoulder apply ice pack rest for a week and then restart your exercises thank you.

I am 35 years old man I have heel pain from last 4 month I already consult to a doctor he adviced hotwaterpruldian, use volvex pel but still no effect on heel pain. Nothing come in x ray. Please advice me

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Heel pain is normally due to inflammation of plantar fascia, especially if x rays and other investigations are normal. My advise to you will be: - ice packs to be applied 3-4 times in a day - ankle, heel stretch and eccentric strengthening ex initially under supervision of a physical therapist is important - footwear modification: soft cushioned sports shoes to be worn till your pain completely subsides or wear shoes with soft silicon insoles - anti-inflammatory medication which suits you. If it does not improve with this management, then we will have to look for injections to give relief to you. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

I have slipped discs at l4-l5 n l5-s1 and tend to get a bit of acute pain at times when they get aggravated which gets better with rest and exercise. I had also been diagnosed with spondilolysthisis about 8 yrs back. For last few months I have developed a pain in my left knee. Earlier pain used to be mainly radicular pain. Could knee pain be related to slipped disc or would it be something different. I also have vit d deficiency. Any suggestions for dealing with knee pain?

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your query mainly focuses on knee pain, if it is localised knee pain, then it should not be related to spine, and this may be a different issue. But if there is no swelling and signs of inflammation and h/o any injury present I would advise you to start with intensive physical therapy for knee mainly focusing on building up your quadriceps and hamstring muscles, hot fomentation 3-4 times in a day, take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body' s suitability and as you stated please supplement your calcium and vitamin d adequately. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

Hello docter, Mere pau par tractor ki tyre chal gyi thi 2 din pehle jisse bht jyada swelling aur pain ho rhi thi. Maine jb docter ko dikhaya toh wo x-ray kiye, aur x-ray report mai minor crack btaya lekin phir bhi mere left pau par plaster karwa diye aur aaj mere feet par choti choti pani wali fori ho rhi hai aur swelling bhi kam nhi huwa hai aur skin bhi kala ho gya hai. please advice me ki ye plaster kb tk khul sakta hai aur koi dikkat toh nhi hai na. please rply.

Aapka plaster kab khulna chahiye yeh tou lagane wale doctor se hi puchna chahiye...vaise generally minor cracks mai'n 3 weeks kafi hota hai.... aap ko bistar par let kar apne left leg ke neeche 2-3 takiye rakh kar aaram karna chahiye aur apne pair ki Ungaliyo'n ko nirantar chalate rehna chahiye ussi se swelling kam hogi.... Jah'n tak phunsiyo'n aur skin ke kalepan ki baat hai tou yeh ek Gambhir baat bhi ho sakti hai... Iss liye aap apne doctor se sampark kare'n tou behtar hoga...Take care.

Multivitamins can be taken if you want but they will not relieve your back pain. Backache in young age is commonly due to 1. Muscle strain resulting from improper posture. 2. Intervertebral disc bulge or prolapse. Follow these treatment guidelines to get relief. 1. Sit with straight back and change posture in between. Do not hunch and feet should rest on floor while seated. 2. Take breaks in between work and walk. 3. Take rest when back pain is severe but avoid total bed rest. 4. Do back strengthening and stretching exercises daily. 5. Take anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen if pain is persistent. 6. Apply analgesic cream over back followed by warm fomentation. 7. Keep pillow behind your knees at bedtime. 7. Do not bend and lift weights. 8. If back pain is accompanied with radiating leg pain or tingling , numbness or weakness, consult immediately .

It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you will need other supportive medicines also. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi, gd you raised q for your keen, sure sh'll be healthy soon. Ask her to maintain hygiene. Is there any fever associated with the white discharge. Such cases to delt soon by face to face interaction. Till then wash groin area by decoction of nim n trifala.
