Hi you can take homoeopathic medicine - merc. Sol. 30/ 3 times a day for 4 weeks which will reduce your pain and makes the gums strong, but gradually. Management: rinse your mouth after every meal with bakson's perio aid mouthwash (15-20drops mixed in some water). Use bakson's baksodent toothpaste twice a day (morning and night).

I have cheilosis which is the best medicine to prevent it? Tell me because I am suffering from it.
Proper treatment of cheilosis can be given only after identifiying the cause. It could be due to fungal infection, dehydration, mal nutrition infection, vit defiency, iron deficiency. Many other conditions produce this.

The type of treatment you have for toothache /sensitivity/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache / sensitivity/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. In case of trauma, there might be complete displacement of tooth from its socket. In those scenario, try to keep calm as the tooth can be reimplanted if proper precautions are taken. Avoid touching the root part of tooth. The recommended storage medium for the knocked out tooth is the patient's own saliva, that is placing the tooth under tongue or in cheek. Make sure patient is not young enough to swallow the tooth. Also glass of milk can be used as storage medium. Seek emergency dental treatment immediately.

I used to smoke which I quit for a week from now when I noticed this thinking of chances of oral cancer. Should I see a dentist or a physician? please give any remedies if possible or I will visit a doctor this weekend.

Dear patient many times this white line is due to sharp teeth present in your mouth and these are normal phenomenon but there can be other reasons too. So I will suggest you to kindly send me a picture of your mouth so that I can understand your condition more accurately. Stop smoking habit. And you will be fine.

What You Can do Daily for Better Dental Health?

What You Can do Daily for Better Dental Health?

Our teeth play a very important role in the overall well-being, from appearance to nutrition to speech. Good oral and dental health is one of the most important aspects of overall health and well-being. From reducing infections to good overall nutrition, taking good care of dental health is has its rich dividends.

Taking care of teeth is not difficult, however. Inculcated early in life, these habits can become a routine and come with ease.

  1. Brushing: Brushing twice a day to remove the food deposits and keep the dental surfaces clean will go a long way in preserving your teeth. They will be healthy, free of decay and will be strong and will last longer. Learn the right technique of brushing from your dentist and practice to get a good hold on it. Improper brushing technique can do a lot of harm, causing wedges in the teeth called as abrasions. Hard bristles does not refer cleaner teeth. Soft bristles are easy on the tooth and are equally effective in cleaning. Make sure you change it once in two to three months or earlier if the bristles are flaring. The dentist can also suggest, if you need to use an electric toothbrush. Also, use a fluoridated or sensitivity toothpaste based on dentist’s recommendations.
  2. Flossing: While brushing will help you remove food deposits from the surface of the teeth, flossing or interdental brushing is essential to clean the spaces between the teeth. This area is less accessible for cleaning and therefore, can undergo decay when food gets lodged in this area. Daily flossing or using interdental brushes help keep this area clean and free of decay. This also helps in keeping the gums healthy, as food lodged in between teeth can be a constant source of irritation for the gums.
  3. Mouth rinse: After each meal, especially sticky or chewy foods, remember to rinse. If you cannot get a regular mouthwash, regular water is a good substitute. This will help remove off food deposits from the teeth and help reduce the incidence of decay.
  4. Food habits: Reduce in-between snacking, especially of sticky or chewy foods. Include sufficient fiber in your diet to have a natural cleansing effect on the teeth. After each sugary liquid or juice consumption, remember to rinse or wash it off with plain water.
  5. Dental visits: Visit your dentist once in 6 months for a regular check-up. If you are good at maintaining dental health, this visit may not last more than an hour, but in the long run, it will be definitely worth the time and effort.

Following these basic steps will ensure good oral health and go a long way in the overall well-being too.
