I cannot sleep during nights. What to do? Please help.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I cannot sleep during nights. What to do? Please help.
Tips for good night 1. Sleep as much as you need to feel rested; do not oversleep. Many a time?s people have a habit of oversleeping on weekends and sleeping less on working days. In the long run such habit may interfere with your sleep cycle and your quality of sleep may get affected. 2. Quality of sleep is more important than the quantity of sleep. Some sleep for just 3-4 hours and remain fresh throughout the day where as others sleep 8-10 hours and yawn throught the day. 3. Exercise regularly at least 30 minutes daily, ideally 4-5 hours before your bedtime. 4. Keep a regular sleep and awakening schedule. As far as possible stick on to the fixed time for retiring and rising. 5. Do not drink caffeinated beverages later than 4 PM (tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.). 6. Do not smoke, especially in the evening. 7. Do not go to bed hungry and do not go to the bed immediately after heavy dinner. 8. Adjust the environment in the room (lights, temperature, noise etc.) The room you are sleeping should not be too warm, shouldn?t have some bright light. 9. Wear comfortable clothing when you go to bed. Sleeping with tight fitting clothing may affect your sleep. 10. Avoid watching TV, eating, and discussing emotional issues in bed. 11. A light snack may be sleep-inducing, but a heavy meal too close to bedtime interferes with sleep. 12. Milk contains the amino acid L-tryptophan, which has been shown in research to help people go to sleep. 13. Take a warm bath half an hour before going to bed. 14. Listen to light music in the evening hours or just before going to the bed. Listening to exciting music may interfere your quality of sleep. 15. Sleep with your head facing north (magnetic) and feet facing south. 16. Don?t read very interesting and thrilling books just before going to bed. Your mind may remain active for long time and you may have difficulty in initiating sleep. 17. Yoga and Pranayama may help in inducing sleep. Homoeopathic management of Insomnia: Many a times Insomnia is due to faulty methods adopted by the person which interferes with the sleep cycle. Few Insomniacs have some psychological and behavioral problems which need to be tackled medically. Homoeopathic medications will help in initiating and maintaining sleep in patients with anxiety neurosis, depression, obsession etc. Homoeopathic medications does not have any side/after effects and they are not habit forming.

Why Diabetic Patients Develop Eating Disorders?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Why Diabetic Patients Develop Eating Disorders?

Diabulimia is a type of eating disorder in which patients of Type 1 diabetes intake less amount of insulin purposely, in order to lose weight. This disorder, however, is not a formal diagnosis. The disorder may be defined as disturbed eating behavior.

Our body requires insulin for moving glucose from the blood to the cells. In type 1 diabetes patients, the pancreas stop producing insulin and glucose gets stored in our bloodstream. This causes extra stress on the kidney in getting rid of excess of sugar. The body gets devoid of glucose and the calories associated with it and a rapid loss in weight occurs. Patients develop binge eating, with more emphasis on sugar and carbohydrate enriched foods. The excess sugar gets out of the body by urinating.

The symptoms of this disease are:

  1. Occurrence of hyperglycemia
  2. Developing a habit of eating more, but still experiencing weight loss
  3. The shift in weight may be dramatic
  4. The energy level is low
  5. Eating patterns turn unusual
  6. Binge eating
  7. Developing an obsession for food
  8. Enhanced awareness about body image
  9. Feeling anxious about the weight
  10. A delay occurs in sexual maturity or attaining puberty
  11. Occurrence of stress
  12. Hospitalization is required frequently for diabetic patients
  13. Exercising amount increases
  14. The patient tends to hide food
  15. There is a smell of ketones from the breath and urine of the patient
  16. Frequency of urination gets enhanced
  17. Malnutrition occurs signalled by hair loss or drying of skin

Health hazards of Diabulimia

  1. Diabulimia can cause a great amount of permanent effects on the body, irrespective of age.
  2. Patients with diabulimia have a risk of getting early comorbidities.
  3. Health issues similar to issues arising from diabetes are observed, but are more adverse in nature.
  4. Dehydration happens along with excess urination.
  5. The patient experiences fatigue and the level of concentration falls down.
  6. An electrolyte disbalance is caused.
  7. There may be risk of heart attack, stroke, retinopathy, neuropathy, gastroparesis.
  8. Vascular disorders, gum infections and infertility in women may also occur.
  9. In the most extreme cases, death occurs.

Prevention
It has been proven by research that almost 30% of type 1 diabetes patients are the ones who abstain from or avoid using insulin in order to lose weight. This habit leads to the risk of many other fatal diseases which may be permanent in nature. Dibulimia is more common among teenage girls who suffer from type 1 diabetes and are generally obsessed with body image. Diabulimia is an eating disorder which leaves a patient at risk of acquiring many other severe diseases. It is advised not to neglect your insulin. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

How to Increase Your Libido With Homeopathy

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS

How to Increase Your Libido With Homeopathy

A healthy sex life is very important for mental as well as physical health. However, due to many factors couples may face problems in their sex life, among which the primary concern is a lack of libido. This affects not only men but women as well. Let's look at some of the common factors which can cause low libido.

Usual causes of low libido:

  • Mental stress, anxiety or depression
  • Lack of understanding or love in a relationship
  • Lack of sex drive in women after childbirth
  • Erectile Dysfunction in men and reduced blood supply to the vagina for women making sex painful.
  • Diabetes and hypertension in both men and women
  • Hyperthyroid or hypothyroid
  • Obesity and many others

Homeopathy and the treatment of low libido: Homeopathy usually treats the underlying conditions first to increase libido, but there are many other treatments to increase sex drive for men and women directly as well. Let's have a look at some of the treatments that are commonly used to treat these problems.

Lycopodium: This is one of the most common medications that are prescribed by doctors for treating low sexual libido in men. This is equally potent for young as well as old men who have problems getting or maintaining erections and thus have difficulty performing.

Natrum Muriaticum: This is a commonly prescribed medication that is usually prescribed to women who have a low sexual desire owing to dryness in the vagina. This may be caused due to underlying factors as well but the usage of natrum muraticum helps in promoting wetness helping in sexual acts.

Nux Vomica: This is a widely used homeopathic medicine which is very good for men who have erectile dysfunctions owing to bad lifestyle habits such as excess consumption of alcohol, other stimulants, rich food or suffer from immense work stress.

Arnica: It is a great remedy for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction due to exhaustion. Arnica is also useful even if a person has no erection problems and has regular morning erections but has a general aversion to sex.

Gelsemium: This is a great remedy for people who have desire but aren't able to perform due to the muscles in the penis being relaxed. Some people even tend to suffer from performance anxiety and may even suffer from diarrhea and thus Gelsemium tends to be a very potent medication in these cases.

2 days 103 degrees f not responding at all to paracetamol 500 mg 4 times over 2 days should need a routine report on your blood counts especially platelets. A peripheral smear report is also needed. If these reports show something positive then consult accordingly to your physician.

I am married and my sexual life is not going good what can I do my penis is too small how can I make it big?

I am married and my sexual life is not going good what can I do my penis is too small how can I make it big?
? Take cleaned ginger pieces and crush it to make a paste. ? Now, extract the ginger juice from this paste. ? Take 2 teaspoons of ginger paste and mix it well with 2 teaspoons of honey. ? Consume this mixture for three times a day for a month to see visible results Size of penis differs from person to person. The average length worked out in some studies show that the penis is 3.5 inches in length normally and goes to 5.1inch length when erected. The latest study in America determined that the average size of the erectile penis is 5.6inches and the circumference of the erectile penis is 4.8 inches. Whatever is the size of the penis, it must be understood that it is normal for the man most people think that the taller the man is the bigger is his penis ?this is not true. Different lengths have been found in different heights of men. The shortest penis of 2.5 inches is seen in a big built man of 5.11 inches height. On the other hand a slim person with the height of 5.6 inches has a penis of 5.5 inches. There is no relation between race and penis. The small size of the penis is only perception. Men complaining of small penis can be due to the person suffering from erectile dysfunction. A man sees his own penis to be smaller when they see from the top. This is the result of foreshadowing. Abdominal fat can also make the penis look smaller. A small size penis grows to 100% length when erected whereas a longer penis grows to 75% length in erection

I am a diabetic patient for last 11 years. My age is 51. Is it okay to take mignor 50 three times a day. And what's the side affect of the same.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

The med will go on for ever and neuropathy, retinopathy may also develop. I would recommend not to stop your physician's med at once. However the supportive herbal remedy may be started parallel to presencent rx. Response will determine further action. It will definitely help, if not cure 100%

No medicine will help untill you treat the actual cause of low sperm count. In fact, I don't try to prescribe medicines because most of them won't work. In other words, we cannot increase sperm count in most of the cases, but we can certainly make you father even with low sperm count. Please read my health tip in lybrate on" low sperm count.

My age is 26. Next year I going to get marriage. But I scared about my penis. Bcoz it's so small in normal times.
Do not worry about size in normal conditions. Erected penis matter for sexual intercourse. For good sex size is not important erection and timings matter. So as far as you get good erection n timing you need not to worry. Let me know if you need further guidance.

Sir my exams round the corner I need more study. When I was going to study I only read only 1 hour after that I can't...
You are anxious, mainly because of your round the corner exam and apprehensive about your performence. Everyone has such problems lije headaches, weakness, occasional inability to concentrate etc. It is because of your anxiety that your thought process is not allowing you to concentrate and distracts you towards insecure feelings. First of all assure yourself about your capabilities on the basis of your past performances and tell yourself that you haVe done it in the past and so you can do it now too. With that resolve move ahead. You should eat normally at proper time and have a peaceful sleep of at least 6 hours. This will make you feel better towards your bodyaches and headaches. Avoid excess of tea or coffee, that initially stimultes your system but may cause lack of concentration.

Mr. lybrate-user, Honey contains sucrose which is same as sugar. If person with diabetes takes it then it is like eating sugar. There will be a rapid increase in the blood glucose level, depending on how much honey is taken. Plus I have no idea as what advantage honey has in "ulcer like condition" Hence I am of te opinion it should be avoided. Thanks.
