Hi, having tenderness in the breasts before and during the periods is common and happens to many females. It happens due to sudden hormonal changes in the body and many a times doesnt even need any treatment. These symptoms tend to decrease after delivering a baby.

I am 27 years old. I had one baby girl at first pregnancy. 2nd aborted on 13.01. 2015 for the reason my first baby at age of 9 months old. Recently 3rd aborted on 27.01. 2016. Due to these abortions can I conceive in future? Is there any complications for next pregnancy? How can I take care of my health at present? Is new baby born with any difficulties? Which results I would face with these abortions? What I would take for next pregnancy? Is there any complications in future delivery? Please give me your suggestions.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Most women who have an abortion don’t have any complications and their fertility isn’t affected. However, a small number of women have complications, like ---------------- 1. A severe infection, such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) (1 in 100)--------- 2. Damage to the womb (uterus) ------------------ 3. Damage to Cervix (1 in 100) Complications such as these can affect fertility. Also, repeated abortions can cause damage to your cervix and increase the risk of late miscarriages.------------------ Taking antibiotics before an abortion may reduce your risk of infection. The Doctor treating you will provide advice about taking antibiotics. ---------------------- Most infections are easy to treat. However, an infection, such as PID, that’s not treated could lead to a more severe infection of your reproductive organs. This can cause infertility or an ectopic pregnancy (when a fertilised egg implants itself outside the womb). ------------------Damage to the cervix can make it weaker. If the cervix can’t stay tightly closed in a future pregnancy (cervical incompetence), this can increase the risk of miscarriage. However, cervical incompetence can be treated with an operation to put a small stitch of strong thread around your cervix to keep it closed. If the womb is damaged during an abortion, it can cause scarring of the womb. It may be possible to remove the scarring with an operation. If you have an abortion, the Doctor treating you should tell you how much bleeding to expect. Follow-up treatment is a must after an abortion------------------------------- You should seek medical help as soon as possible if you have:----- 1. Pain in your lower stomach that doesn’t get better with pain relief medication ------- 2. Heavy bleeding ------- 3. A high temperature -----

Plz describe in simple words what is ivf. What will the approx cost for this n how much time it will take.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

IVF is a procedure where we take the egg of woman and sperm of man and fertilize it outside into an embryo and then implant it inside a woman uterus. Depending on the woman uterine condition it takes minimum two to three cycles to make it successful. We generally make atleast 8 to 10 embryos, freeze them and select the best from them to implant, and also we prepare the uterus fully by the help of injections and Medicines to make it successful. Overall it costs minimum 3 Lacs.

Hi I want to ask that labia minora has become wider since last 15 days. I am unmarried & have PCOS. Prolactin level is also bit higher in recent test. Please tell reason & remedy for wider labia minora?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, FCPS, DGO, Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (DFFP)
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
For PCOS & High prolactin -Both are hormonal imbalance and long time treatment is required with patience. Depending on history, examination findings, reports and stage of life treatment changes so meet Gynecologist in whom you have trust and are ready to visit often. Overwight is very common so in case you have that reduction of weight helps tremendously. Labia minora needs to be examined if only size has increased and nothing in examination, nothing needs to be done.
