Hi lybrate-user. I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. Cheers.

Hi, there are Homoeopathic medicines which works well but the treatment depends upon the individual symptoms of the patient.Treatment for night blindness will also depend on its cause. Management:- Nutritional supplements may be helpful, Night blindness can be an early sign of vitamin A deficiency, often the result of a diet lacking in vegetables containing beta-carotene, which the body can make into vitamin A. Rich diet like milk ,animal liver and green leafy vegetables Vitamin supplements should be given to patient with vitamin A deficiency. Avoid driving at night. Wear sunglasses outside on bright days to protect against UVA light.

Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you.

Hello Subhajit, The fluid in our eyes normally does have floaters. If the floaters come in the field of vision, thats when it starts getting irritating. You can ignore them as they usually reduce and disappear on their own without any medication. Otherwise you can use Tear eye drops which is a mild lubricant and provides general moisture to the eye keeping it healthy.

They usually occur in many people normally due to vitreous degeneration. But if it increases so much that it is hampering your vision than it might be pathological, which should be duely examined for any retinal or vitreous pathology.

Get your refraction done and wear spectacles Eat green veggies. Carrots. Strain less your eyes. Relax your eyes in between work. Blink regularily if working for long time on computer. Lower the brightness of your screen. Work under adequately illuminated conditions. If needed wear corrective spectacles. These are few things you can take care of. Otherwise as such no options available which can increase your eyesight.

Hello. Sorry about your eye trouble. Night blindness has various causes associated with it: (1) deficiency of vitamins- vitamin a deficiency, specifically, in young children may lead to night blindness. Prompt dietary modification and administration should be of help. (2) congenital defect: retinitis pigmentosa, heredomacular degeneration, congenital stationary night blindness are a few of the disorders that are present from birth/ childhood that could lead to night blindness. These should be assessed and treated accordingly. There are a few treatment options such as dietary supplements, low vision aid devices, genetic counseling therapy that might have some benefit in for the same. (3) raised intra-occular pressure may at times caused reduced vision at night time/ low illumination. This would be easily detected when undergoing checkup by an eye specialist. (4) certain other infectious conditions may also cause night blindness. (5) certain types of cataract may lead to reduced vision at night time. This can be easily solved by removing the cataract. Thus, my suggestion for you would be to undergo a thorough eye evaluation by a retina specialist and then follow the therapy suggested by him/her. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care, regards.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye trouble. Amblyopia/ lazy eye develops during the initial years of one's life (2 to 12 years of age). As you would probably know, there are multiple reasons associated with it. Let me enumerate them in brief: (1) unequal refractive error in both eyes causing one eye to become lazy. (2) squint in one eye. (3) cataract at a young age in one eye / both eyes. (4) retinal tumor/ detachment/ pathology occurring at a young age. (5) injury to one eye. If treated early (2 to 12 years of age) and followed up regularly, there is a chance of preventing amblyopia. Unfortunately, at your age (23 years), it would be difficult to treat and cure it. Early intervention in the form of patching therapy would have made it possible to cure it.
