In humid conditions, ringworms are common and can affect in major way. Local application of creams give only temporary relief and it comes back again. To get prolonged relief you should take homoeopathic treatment and to manage it, you should make the affected place dry and apply anti fungal powder, and avoid sour things in diet.

Lybrate-user, to gain weight in healthy way, consume balanced diet with more protein rich foods to build muscles. Since your weight is less, the amount of protein you have to take is 1 to 1.25 gm protein / kg of ideal weight. You have to take supplements my dear, you can not get all the nutrients from food now. Soil has become very poor and missing in many nutrients. You can include sprouts, full cream milk & milk products, cheese, paneer frequently, peanut butter etc in your diet. For customised diet plan many things should be considered including dealing with the deficiencies with food supplements - as diet is missing so many important nutrients. A personalised weight gain diet plan works wonders and helps one gain weight/muscle without gaining unwanted fats.

Please use Tea tree oil which is excellent for treating acne and pimples. It has antibacterial properties that help fight the bacteria that cause these skin problems. Plus, its soothing properties help reduce the redness and inflammation of pimples. It also helps dry out blackheads and whiteheads. Just dip a cotton ball in tea tree essential oil and dab it on the affected area. Rinse your face after 15 to 20 minutes. Another option is to mix a few drops of tea tree oil in 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Apply it on your pimples and blemishes, leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Note: Steer clear of tea tree oil if you have sensitive skin. For further queries get back to me.

Any type of alcohol is bad for body in the long run in future. Best is to win over the habit of drinking alcohol. Please remember that alcohol is toxic to your body, mind and well-being. The earlier you can stop this habit, the healthier it can be for you. The lower taste and sinful habit of smoking can be stopped by replacing it with the higher taste. Simply read nice books which give you a higher meaning to life than chemicals in alcohol. In place of alcohol, spend your time by doing yoga and chant the names of god who you have faith in. It has been scientifically proved that by doing yoga and chanting, the habit of alcohol can be stopped. By chanting with love, soon you would be swimming in an ocean of pleasure which is million times greater than flickering pleasure of intoxicants like alcohol, and automatically the attraction to the low taste of alcohol would stop.

I am 26 year old male. I am suffering from Depression by thinking about the past incidents/events which happened to me 3-4 years ago .I do my Yoga ,pranayama and meditation regularly but still at times I get depressed by thinking about the past incidents that happened to me ,and I end up blaming ,cursing and hating some people in my past for ruining my Life or whom I consider responsible for bad incidents that happened to me ,I have developed hatred for those people .I regret a lot about the past and mostly dwell in the past also at times I curse God about the past. I also at times find it tough to accept the present situation and reality and I always question a lot that why these things happened to me ? Also I consider myself Unlucky that those incidents happened to me. I find it difficult to live in the present and happily and I can not completely concentrate and focus on my work .And I feel I was a victim and injustice happened to me .How should I get out of this thought cycle and depression ?

The answer to your question is quite obvious but still I think it would be very useful to meet with a counselor and purge the past out of your system by talking to that person. By delving into the past it is affecting your present and future. Also, the danger I am concerned about it that you may find yourself in self-pity a lot of the time and that is extremely bad for you. You cannot change the past but you can make your present and future far better than what it is now by closing the past. Counseling will certainly help tremendously. I suspect that you are one of many who have been taking medicines but not working with a counselor in tandem. You need both counseling and medical intervention. The combination is ideal for the cure to be complete. In fact, counseling will need to go on for a long time to develop skills and techniques to cope with everyday challenges of your life. If you remain episode-free for three years at least, you can be weaned off of the medication. So I assume that for all of these many years you have been letting the medicine do all the work on your depression and very little effort from your side. This will not do at all. So please start counseling immediately. In the meantime please do the following that can be done all by yourself as you desire: You must be active and work towards your reformation. Many lifestyle changes need to be made to progress away for the condition. When you are depressed, you will feel lazy though I would like to call it lethargy. There is an inertia and lack of energy to even think, let alone act. You are required to literally do the opposite of what you feel like doing. Depression makes you want to withdraw, lie down, sleep, become lethargic, slow down, make you too lazy to even think etc. So when I suggested doing the opposite, you will need to fight this disease. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, eat more of proteins and vegetables, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three things, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. If you are young and you can do it with some commitment. The doctor and counselor are there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with them is very critical for your success.

Sir, I am Saroj my age 21 but my hair fall always what can I do. Pls suggestion me.
Hair loss is a common problem. First and foremost start with lifestyle modifications. You have to incorporate a lot of dietary changes too. Drink too litres of water everyday since it will detoxify and remove impurities from the body which otherwise can accumulate harmful metabolic products. If you r a vegetarian, your diet should contain plenty of all types of pulses everyday. Drink plenty of milk too. If not, incorporate plenty of eggs, meat, fish in cooked forms. Avoid junk food. Destress since stress mediators cause hairfall. Do yoga and meditation. Exercise regularly. Hair styling devices and hot rods and creams enhance hairfall, so avoid them. Dont tie up hair tightly. Dandruff is a fungal infection of your scalp skin. Avoid oil for it increases dandruff. Wash hair with shampoo on alternate days. Massage and wash thoroughly.

Is Sun Exposure Cause Wrinkles?

MD - (Dermatology & STD)
Dermatologist, Bangalore
Is Sun Exposure Cause Wrinkles?

Do you know the sun is making your skin age faster? plus, 5 other reasons behind facial wrinkles

Facial wrinkling occurs when the skin develops creases, folds and ridges. The formation of wrinkles is a normal part of the process of skin ageing. However, certain factors may accelerate the process and lead to premature wrinkling of the face and other parts of the body.

The main causes of facial wrinkling are:

1. Skin ageing:
as a person gets older, his/her skin becomes less taut and begins to sag. The production of natural oils and fat in the deeper layers of the skin gets reduced with age, which leads to the formation of wrinkles due to diminished skin elasticity.

2. Sun exposure: constant exposure of skin to the sun causes damage and speeds up the ageing process. The harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun break down collagen and collective tissue fibres, which is the primary cause of premature wrinkling.

3. Skin complexion: due to the absence of melanin, people with fairer (lighter) skin, experience more damage due to sun exposure. This causes them to develop wrinkles much earlier.

4. Facial muscle contraction: repeatedly making the same facial expressions and contraction of face muscles causes wrinkling. Those who constantly frown, smile or squint get facial wrinkles as it leads to reduced skin elasticity.

5. Smoking: smokers are more susceptible to premature wrinkling. This is due to the presence of nicotine, tar and other chemicals from the smoke in the bloodstream, which hamper the supply of blood and oxygen to the outer layers of skin.

6. Genetic factors: many people get facial wrinkling as a result of hereditary causes and family genetics.

However, the good news is that facial wrinkling can be prevented through these simple ways:

  • Sun protection: This is the most effective way of avoiding wrinkles. Keep yourself protected against sun exposure by staying out of the sun as much as possible and wearing sunscreen at all times.
  • Quitting the smoke: Kicking the habit will show a marked improvement in your skin quality and would help prevent further wrinkling.
  • Use of moisturisers: Dry skin is more prone to wrinkling. Keeping your skin supple and moisturised prevents wrinkles.
  • Leading a healthy lifestyle: The combination of following a nutritious diet, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep and regularly exercising keeps the skin young and wrinkle-free.

Treatment options:

There are several options to improve wrinkles by procedures which include botox, fillers, prp and lasers for skin tightening. The most suitable option can be chosen depending upon the severity and type of wrinkling.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
