There are several causes of tooth discoloration, including: Foods/drinks. Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Poor dental hygiene. Inadequate brushing and flossing.... Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. for faster result you can go for TEETH BLEACHING from dentist...

I have a pain in my teeth so what to do?
And 3 years ago I had done root canal in that teeth.
Check whether there is any food lodgement around the tooth crown. Floss regularly and brush twice daily if the pain persists then go for a radiograph.

Eat lot of fruits & green leafy vegetables & drink plenty of water. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need Coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges)

Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too.

I have 2 major issues to be addressed:
1. I have immense pain in the left lower jaw because of the wisdom tooth erupt...
As of now I am suggesting you for the wisdom tooth.... Take homoeopathic medicine Mag Carb 30 tds for 3 days... it will ease the process of eruption... And then consult for the carious tooth... But if it has been treated for 4 times then you should think of extracting it before the caries spreads to others...

Saving Your Child's Teeth :

Having good non decayed milk teeth with spacing between them is good for the child. There is a probability that if there are no spaces between milk teeth ( before 6 years of age) - the chances of having irregular teeth become more later on when the permanent teeth erupt. If there is crowding/ irregularity on the eruption of permanent teeth, it is better to show it to a Pedodontist ( Child Dental Specialist), by 7 to 8 yeras of age - who will help you and the child get the teeth into alignment without having to go through braces later on. This way there will be less chances of decay in child's milk and permanent teeth.

How shall I remove stains from my teeth that has been caused due to chewing paan masala?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

How shall I remove stains from my teeth that has been caused due to chewing paan masala?
The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Hii, This Q. is for my Hubby. He is 29 years old. He has horizontal wisdom tooth covered with gums. Their is no pain in the tooth. Should he remove that tooth or not? Thanks & Regards Himani Kapoor

BDS, MDS

i would ask him to go for extraction in a planned way. as you are aware of it that it is a horizontal one the there must be an episode wen it was painful and after x ray the dentist must have told you about the situation. he shd not wait for a painful episode better get rid of that tooth wen he is free

Saving a fallen tooth can be useful. Try to keep it in place while you seek immediate medical attention. If that is not the case, try wrapping the tooth in a piece of plastic or soaking it into milk and call for immediate dental service.

- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person.

I have bad smell from my mouth I tried many tooth pastes but no difference made. So what I can do.
Tooth pastes are just an additive to your oral hygiene measures. Rinse thoroughly after every meal. Bad smell can be for many other reasons other than your oral cavity e. G. Sinusitis, gastric disturbances, eating habits. Visit your dentist now and get it solved.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need Coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with Multivitamin cap, for five days in the morning after meals & antiseptic ointment or gel on the area of ulcer until then. Mouth sores are common and rarely cause complications. Most go away in about a week, but it’s important to monitor any mouth sores you develop. If you are concerned, or if the sore doesn’t seem to be healing, contact your dentist Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Advance procedures can be done with laser. I am 22 year old male. I have a cavity in my one tooth. So is it necessary that it require rct. Normal removal of carries and filling can also be done.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Jodhpur
Rct is only need when cavity extend to or very near to tooth pulp. So if you can share your x-ray with me than only I can tell that you require rct or normal filling will work. As a general rule if you have pain in that particular tooth than you require a rct.
