I have breast lumps. I applied heat and massaged then tuk out the milk as much as I can. My breast is paining still and got hard. Can I use taxim o 200 mg tablet? Please suggest me any medication to get relief from lumps.

MBBS, M.S. General Surgery, M.R.C.S. England, M.Ch. Surgical Oncology, DNB Surgical Oncology, FEBS Surgical Oncology, DNB General Surgery, MNAMS, FMAS, FIAGES, FAIS, FICS, FEBS Breast Surgery, FACS, Fellowship IFHNOS & MSKCC USA, Fellowship in breast and oncplastic Surgery
Oncologist, Mumbai
Are you breastfeeding? You set your massaged your breasts and expressed out milk. Hence the question. If you are breastfeeding then the most common cause of Breast lumps is Galactocele. Which is due to collection of milk. Massage with cold compresses is useful in this condition however it's imperative that you see a breast surgeon or surgical oncologist. They can examine you and if needed order an ultrasound of the breast with SOS aspiration of the collection. The condition does not need any antibiotics as it is sterile. However we need to rule out abscess or mastitis which will need antibiotics. Moreover if you are breast feeding then only a few antibiotics can be given. If you are not lactating then we need to confirm if it is milk or pus that is getting expressed and then treat the cause accordingly. Hope I was able to solve your query. If you still have any questions, feel free to consume directly.
