The fact that this had started a year ago suggests that there is something from your past related to ear that has not been resolved. In late adolescence unresolved issues will come up seeking a resolution for he last time. So this is a good opportunity to seek some counseling help and resolve it soon and forever. The fear has come to do with high expectations and insecurity in your abilities to deliver. Hormonal influences can also contribute to this situation but to just activate an already prevailing a predisposition.

I am 40 years old who is in quite good health. I suffer from health anxiety. I am always worried that something's wrong with me for which I get unnecessary tests done. The results always come out negative. I also have mild BP which fluctuates between 130/82 to 140/90. I am having metolar xr 25 in the morning and amlosafe 2.5 in the night. I also get anxiety when I see the doctor checking my BP and once my BP rose to 140/100. Am now being prescribed mild anti anxiety medications (contains lorazepam) of 0.25 mg. I could not sleep at night thinking whether I would get sleep or not. This medication is helping me. Should I continue with the same power of BP medications? And can I continue with the anti anxiety medications. I exercise an hour daily. Please let me know. Whether I am ok or need to see a therapist.

The exercise you're doing is wonderful. You have become hypochondriacal and this is because of a deep rooted fear. You will need to meet with a counselor and learn to deal with your fear. Fear always tend to find a form, and in your case it has found medical complications the form. You will become quite suggestible to bodily misperceptions and feel you have a serious problem. In the bargain you will auto-suggest and create actual medical problems including your hypertension. Now however you cannot discard the medication until you have learned to deal with this fear, learned some relaxation exercises through yoga and meditation. Sleep is very important and that can be induced by the simple breathing pattern 4-7-8 i.e. Breathe in for 4 counts through your nostrils, hold the breath for 7 counts, and release the air through your mouth with a whoosh sound for 8 counts. Do not stop any medication without the consultation and approval of your doctor.

Depending on your age, this could be normal if you were in your teens. Depression and anxiety do go together often times but this may have some serious origins and needs your immediate attention. I suggest you meet with a counselor and check the origins and the treatment thereof. If that person recommends that you meet with a doctor, then please do so promptly. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do calisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

No one is worth dying for. Your life is your preserve: you must look after it and live for yourself first. It sounds like your husband is still attached to his mother. ?that he loves his son so much is good but not at the disposal of his mother i.e you. I advise you to seek some professional help in the form of marriage counseling and sort out these matters. If you delay it too long, it could get beyond repair. Timely help can sort out all these differences and give back the husband-wife love to normal. This is the best gift you can give to your son: a good mother-father relationship. Also in the first two years of yoru marriage you should have lived separately from everyone to develop the bonding before you can accept others into your home of lie with either parents.

Yes, too much water is not healthy either: it can tax the kidneys. Eight glasses of water are just fine. However, water must also move in and through your system. You must pass out the water through urine, feces, sweat, breath etc. Only then water good for you.

There may be something bothering you from your past. Meet a counselor and deal with that. Your best bet is to be positive for a good life and future. Sir I want to leave smoke but I am fail very time so what I do to leave it? Please advice

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
You have to quit cold turkey because the body and mind will torture you endlessly while attempting a reduction in smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged on. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but do go for a thorough medical check-up to assess the effects of your abuse. Regarding improving your lungs, do a lot of aerobic exercise breathing through your nostrils only. Then there are a lot of deep breathing exercises in Yoga which you can learn too. Deep breathing cleanses your system and lungs and restores it to good health. Deep breathing uses the 80% of the lungs which are not normally used in normal breathing and even when exerting yourself. The greatest effect is in the lungs because this substance is processed through the respiratory system directly through the lung surface. When quitting, you must take one day at a time; though you must give up all smoking at once, and promptly. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact, these conditions can exist all through the day, unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heartbeat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact, it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chew gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. At least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest. You could also join twitter2quit program and enjoy its success to give up smoking.

Hi, How do I mingle with people and be sociallable. I have been trying it for a long time but cannot talk to anyone. ...
Sounds to me like you are into an anger related depression. If you have not been on medication and you want to remain so, you will have to work very hard to recover from this condition. You must first of all seek the help of a counselor, ideally. If that person thinks that you need to meet with a doctor you will need to do so and cooperate right through. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least 30 minutes but not in the scotching heat. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love: find someone to love and to love you back, if you are not already married. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive everyday and learn to be contended with what you have. You are indeed unique and there is no one who is going to be like you, ever! You have a problem of self-acceptance, and if I may venture to say may be a rejection issue. This latter may have happened due to an actual rejection which you may have experienced very early in your life. The solution to this is a matter of genuine self-acceptance or self-love. I am not talking about narcissism: this is a genuine love of yourself. It is not based on your appearance alone. You must work on developing yourself in five areas: the physical fitness, emotional fitness, intellectual fitness, social fitness and spiritual fitness. I would also suggest you attend a good personality development program, a speech training course (I suggest the Toastmasters Club), a conversation and elocution course, and to do a personal grooming course too. Education is very good to boost self-confidence, and together with that if you develop socializing skills, you will make it big. Meet with a counselor and ask to be trained in handling emotions, and that will just take you places. Read a lot and meet lots of people, even if you feel too conscious: in time you will get out of this backwardness very well. Do physical fitness exercises regularly. Ultimately, if you believe in God, you will know that you are so precious to Him that no one else’s opinion or acceptance is as important as His. Your life will change phenomenally!

You are wasting your time faking it. Go and attend courses that will raise your competence in these areas that you feel inferior and change yourself. If you carried on like this you will get addicted to masturbation and then you will never need a woman because you can get sexual satisfaction without being in a relationship! Do a good personality development course, a public speaking skills course, good conversational skills course etc.
