Dear , this is a normal finding, any part of body may get numb due to prolonged posture. You should change your posture, you may get up for some time and walk for a short distance to avoid this condition.

I am 33 year old Female. I am having pain and swelling over right knee. I have undergone synovectomy before 1.6 years. Please suggest me what I should do now.

Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am 25 years old and suffering from rheumatoid arthritis from past 3 years. I am felling pain and swelling in knee joints, elbow joints and others too. So is there ways to reverse joint damage causes by arthritis?

Rheumatoid arthritis is very much controllable disease. With the advancement of drugs for Rgeumatoid people live like other normal people with proper use of DMARDS (disease modifiying anti rheumatic drugs. Drugs will help you preventing further progression of disease and joint damage but once the joints get damaged totally drugs have little role in preventing further progression. So my advice will consult any Rheumatologist of your area who can guide you properly. Hope this will help you.

My dad has severe knee pain nd difficulty in walking from past 3 years. Is knee transplantation a better option. Or its not safe.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature although it can also be due to nerves, tendons, vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre match warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Dear Lybrate user Start some streching exercise of back and leg muscles. It will relax the muscle. Take hot water formentation. Back muscle are going to stiff only that causes pain. When position change you feel pain as sitting from chair or table to standing position. Because basic muscle involves to perform that activity. Its may be due to sedentary lifestyle or less physical workouts like cycling, running,walking, etc.

Hi I am 38 years old male. I am unable to move my right arm from shoulder level since past 8 days. This happened while playing badminton. I have already taken muscle relaxant and pain killers.

Start with physiotherapy sessions and learn exercise. Don't lift heavy things. Don't play sports. Take calcium and methylcobalamine supplement also.

I met with and accident few months back and it caused my leg to have a major ligment problem. After few days it got recovered by itself and recently while playing my leg slipped at knee and it hurted again. Then went through tests and reports are saying that my legments are completly torned and doctor suggested for a legment surgery. Now I think it is recovering again and is causing no more pain. Should I go through suregry? please suggest.

At the age of 29yrs if you want to pursue sports, acl tear plus one more ligamnet injury/meniscus injury will definitely require surgery. It is better to get operated by arthroscopy so that your recovery will be faster. You will have to take care i. E. Wear brace for atleast three months from the date of surgery.

My mother was having spondylitis on her spine since 2009 and it was cured by 2012 after taking the medicines. But again in 2015 she felt the pain and we took her to the orthopaedic. But this time she did not recover. And after spending few month being suggested by the orthopaedic we took her to the neurologist. .and he ran few tests including MRI Scan .and said that there is some minor issues. And prescribed two drugs named steriocort and Oslol tr 40. Which she took for 37 days. But on 38th day she started to feel very weak. Her appetite was very less. vomited 3 times. Always felt drowsy. .urination got hampered .could not pass stool. And felt very uneasy. And eventually on 44th day situation got worse and we eventually admitted her in a hospital under a neuro surgeon. And her situation got worse as she could not walk now properly. Then the concerned doctor asked to stop the medicine immediately and asked for few more tests. But on next to next day he said there is no neurological problems and referred to a general physician. .then we got one founding that her sodium level was 114 when we took her first time to the neurologist 46 days back. And the doctor also said that haemoglobin level is very low I. E.8.6, and platelet count was very less at 66000. Then the doctor also said that she is having cough in her chest. And she started her treatment. .and we found that patient was recovering. After admission she was not talking. Always kept her eyes closed. But on 2nd day we saw that she was opening her eyes. And also started communication with others. And she started taking normal foods. But on 3rd day we found her totally different. .as if she is having some mental disorder. .her hands were moving in some wayward directions. Speech was not in order. Keeping her eyes always closed. Could not walk. Taking food was also stopped. Seeing that we consulted with the concerned doctor and she said that she is OK. .and there is no problem as such. This is not a very sounding problem. After taking to home she could get better. But today is the second day. Her situation is getting worsening. .As psychiatric patient. Please suggest what to do? As we are confused.

First of all you should follow some basic thing 1. Avoid=hot and cold at time 2. Less the sugar as much as possible if you want to eat sweet take juggery which is black 3. Do not drink water after meal drink at the time of meal sip by sip up to 150 ml 4. Avoid late night sleep 5. Yogaraj guggul 1 tab before lunch and dinner 6. Rasna sapatak kadha 2 tsp before lunch and dinner.

I am suffering a back bone pain from last one week so give the some information what should be done?

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. -a full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. Please consult a physiotherapist for the same.

I am 50 years old man. Since last 3 years when summer starts, I feel lazy and my muscles in the leg & thighs starts paining. The pain increases as the day passes & decreases gradually in afternoon & I feel comfortable in the evening. But during rainy & winter I don't feel any pain.
